There's enough room to walk around the park for exercise, if people desire. There are benches and several trees. If your dog likes water, there is a gate to the lake next to the park which is fenced in with the fence running down to the lake. This allows your dog to go for a swim. It's a really nice park in the middle of Papillon. There is a small amount of parking (4-5 cars) and during my time there, 4 other dogs were in the park.

Unfortuntaly there was no direct handicap access or ride on handicap equipment like i have seen at other sites. One interesting thing about this park is its quite spread out. There is a splash pad area, playground area, tennis courts and baseball diamonds but they are all hundred feet or more apart. The tennis court area looks to be getting some pickle ball courts but i couldnt tell for sure. There is street side parking that is on the same side as the park and a private parking lot but it is clear at one end so might miss it until you are leaving! The covered areas with picnic tables are pretty decent size. Roughly 6 x 10 person tables in them. There is a creek/water run off that separates the baseball areas from the rest which does have good fencing protecting it. If you have allergies beware the surrounding cottonwood trees! Felt like it was snowing at times which is funny until you breathe it in haha.

A new playground was installed in recent years, so you'll often see Metcalfe full of young families enjoying the day. Tucked away on the northwest corner of the park is a little garden with a sundial. Adorable. In all, a very quaint park surrounded by the beautiful brick houses of the neighborhood.

This is a hidden gem, and without the search capabilities of the internet, I never would have…read morestumbled upon this large dog park. There are big and small dog areas separated by a fence. There were poo bags stocked in the dispenser, which is nice & very rare in Nebraska. There's not much worse than getting feces on a shoe and mashing it into every crack and crevice of my vehicle. Having stocked poo bags encourages most people to clean up after their pooch. No water station anywhere, which is a huge negative. The best dog parks not only have a drinking station inside each fenced area, but also a rense station as you walk to the parking lot (in case your dog does accidentally step in poop, there's a chance to was most of it off). There is grass, but it just seems to be whatever grows, grows. It doesn't seem to be well taken care of. They to appear to cut the grass in the warmer months, but cut the grass way too short. It's mostly weeds they die off in the winter, to make a muddy wonderland. There is a trail around the South East entrance. Didn't hit it today, but I will in the near future. Overall, just okay. Bring your own water.

It's…read morequiet and peaceful for the most part, on summer afternoons and evenings it gets a bit louder with kids playing and sometimes sports practices or picnics, but I love that people are using the outdoor space. There's a couple benches by the playground for parents to watch kids play, and picnic tables if you want to come for a meal or hang out. It gets mowed regularly but not often, and sometimes the trash could be emptied before they get to it. There are times people will leave things behind and it looks trashy but that's not too often thankfully. It really is a nice park and homes in the surrounding area around are well cared for, so it's a good place to come with or without kids.
