Staff is always friendly and helpful. I only play pickleball here so can't speak to the tennis side of things, but the pickleball experience is top notch. Shout-out to Joel if you're taking lessons. Patient, clear, actually makes you better. Try to get him if you can. If you are a complete newbie, a clinic or group class is helpful. Beyond that, I think they are a bit overpriced for what you get. Instructors are good but with that many people on a court, you don't get individual attention. They recently started offering smaller-group lessons which seems like a better format. Now the asterisk. Reservations are basically impossible. Booking opens at 12:30pm and courts are gone in, not an exaggeration, one second. Again, I'm not exaggerating. And even if you click at exactly 12:30:00, you still might not get one. I've also heard the owners aren't fans of pickleball and aren't planning to add more courts, which if true is a bummer because the demand is obviously there. Honestly the reservation thing is so bad I went back and forth on whether this should be four stars. But the place itself is so great, maybe it's just a victim of its own success. If you CAN get a reservation, it's unbeatable.

I signed up based on the original schedule, and the cancellation was completely outside of my control. When I couldn't attend the rescheduled class, I was told I would forfeit the class without any exception or credit. I understand that businesses need policies, but I was disappointed by the lack of flexibility in a situation caused by weather and a schedule change initiated by the organization. A one-time exception or make-up option would have gone a long way. This rating does not reflect the quality of the coaches, who were great. The 3 stars are due to the rigidity of the scheduling and attendance policies.

Each week, she engages in a…read more40-min session, where she gets to interact with others kids, and learn developmental skills appropriate for her age group. They learn things like stop, go, wait your turn, and following direction. They learn how to work in a group, and also to work independently, or with partners. They learn to run, kick the ball, but do other things like kick the cones, run around the cones, etc. The activities from week to week change, nothing's really ever the same. She's not learning soccer moves or how to play soccer, per se, but rather just developmental things that are fun and important for kids and their learning. The classes are setup by age level. I will say that my daughter is one of the younger ones in the class, and I do find it harder for her to follow direction compared to the other older kids. There are no makeup classes which is the only bummer, except when it gets rained out. Oh well. I love the little soccer shirt they provide on the first day of class with their name on it, and you can also upgrade to get soccer shorts and socks (so cute) for an extra $20. The locations are spread out across the city, but I love that the one I go to is within 5-6 min drive of me, and the parking at Golden Gate Park is very plentiful at Mother's Meadow each week I go! The coaches, Brian and Jesse, are wonderful, so passionate. They're so amazing with all of the kids, they're very patient, kind, and also help with redirection. They're very enthusiastic, and have lots of energy. What else could you want from a soccer coach?! They also can remember your child's name from week to week, they have great memory! I would highly recommend SF Tots to your child to get them out of the house and learn new things with this fun and engaging soccer class.

There's another grassy area outside the actual gated field with trees and a path to walk your dog. Off to the side are bathrooms and a soda vending machine. There's a decent parking lot adjacent to the field. Although I will say, the abandoned building off to the side is kinda creepy come night time. Don't get lost in the one way streets or you'll be driving around all night (no joke). Not my first choice as far as fields are concerned but it makes my job more interesting.

Not super busy during family swim hours. Plenty of exercise for the both of us. Love it 2) The ping pong and pool tables upstairs. Over looking the Golden Gate bridge while we hit ping pong, brush up on billard skills. they have a piano and foosball table as well 3) I play badminton here every Saturday from 5:30 - 8:00pm, need I say more? No existing badminton clubs in San Francisco, making this a very attractive place. With some good players, 3 courts, you can get all you can take.

The…read moreRecSports program is run by Caroline Hernandez, a pretty cool program supervisor who is present at most of the league games. The leagues are fairly well-run... the schedules are sent out before-hand, there is a captain's meeting to get everyone familiar with the rules, and Caroline is sometimes accommodating if teams need to re-schedule a game. Most of the volleyball seasons were fine... competition was decent and the games were fun. They do have a dumb coed rule that shouldn't apply for leagues with advanced skill level. Why does a girl need a rule requiring them to touch the ball when nobody is avoiding them? The other leagues I have played in since have no such rule, and everyone likes it much better. Having to scramble to get a girl to touch the ball before it goes over the net is not volleyball. Also, the officiating should not be detrimental to the game. Roger (the referee on most nights) is a really nice old dude, but his officiating is weak. He likes to call two-touch too much on the setter, and he doesn't really call much else. His whistle is really weak too (the first thing they teach you in officiating training is to have a strong whistle). Lastly, in the final season I played there, instead of having the entire gym to ourselves with one volleyball court, they tried to squish two side-by-side games in at the same time (one beginner league and one intermediate). This caused the baseline out-of-bounds to be the wall. I don't think I need to tell you how annoying that was. This was pretty much the last straw for my team and I, and we have since switched over to the JCCSF league, where we have been pretty happy. Overall, not a horrible league, but my team is happier with our switch. I liked the league coordinator, but she wasn't enough to keep us there. U ltimately found a better (and cheaper) league to join at JCCSF. C ampus location, so parking is a pain (I often had to use the pay garage). S o-so officiating, which led to more annoyances than if we would have self-reffed. F inal straw was having to use the wall as an out-of-bounds line.

This park is the 'activity' and sports park for the Marina and the adjoining areas - there is a sandlot playground for tots, and a big grassy area used for soccer and 4 softball/ baseball 'diamonds' with backstops. There's also a sort of chipping green, a batting 'cage'/ net, and 4 tennis courts. Place is popular after work with various sloshball leagues and whatnot, so plan accordingly. Moscone loses a star for the crowds and for the fact that, as one of the few places in SF where there's a public court that attracts ballers for a semi-regular pick-up run, the facilities aren't really that great...which leads me to the all-important basketball portion of this review... The hoops situation is erratic. There is a court on the east/ Laguna side that (to me) has a nicer surface, but usually has scrub games. The better runs are on the West/ Webster St. side, which is lighted, allowing after-hours ball. Try after work and in the AM on the weekend. There's usually a wait of some sort and can be a lot of smack being talked (standard). There's also a small and rather shabby 'Rec Center' building on Chestnut, which actually has a hoops court inside. But the place is weird: it's almost never open and even if you get in there, one of the rims is like 9'6" and the other is like 11', and it's dimly lit, so basically its useless. Basketball Jonze

The fields here are impeccably landscaped and the grass is glorious. I wanted to just lay down in it for awhile, but I was too busy fielding grounders and whipping some mean pitches. There is plenty of room to share with the fellow ballplayers, dog walkers, and little kids rolling around in the grass. Hooray for parks. And should you decide to play some catch & it's been awhile, watch out the next morning... when I woke up my arm felt like it had died. Lol.

Seeing as I don't have any children and don't play any sports, there's really not much for me to do here. I would come out here and read, but the field is always dotted with little piles of doggie poop and all the benches are usually occupied by drunk homeless dudes. To be fair, not all the homeless dudes are drunk. And not all the drunk dudes are homeless. But I've gotten leered at and "sweetie"d and "hey, beautiful"d enough times to be a tad wary of the place. My dog makes a lousy bodyguard because she thinks they all smell interesting and likes to stop and say hello. (On second thought, maybe she's the one they "sweetie"d haha!) On a day when the weather is nice and the drunken leering is at a minimum, my boyfriend and I like to take our dog here and play a mad game of fetch. This is her heaven -- running with wild abandon, kicking up dirt, chasing some round thing -- it's pure bliss. Uneasy as it makes me, this is her happy place and that's good enough for me. Plus the drunk dudes are there less and less, so I'm taking that as a good sign. I'm grateful for this patch of green, but please clean it up!

They have high quality equipment, and from what I understand, the programming is really well-balanced between skills/drills, games, and scrimmages. Can't wait to be back next year!
