I was referred through the Four Seasons and booked spa services while in town for a week. While I paid full price and tipped accordingly, the overall quality of my services was disappointing. My facial, in particular, was not up to standard. I've had a HydraFacial before, and this experience was noticeably inconsistent. The serums that are typically left on the skin were removed, which was surprising and not in line with what the service should be. Meanwhile, my friend received a completely different (and much better) version of the same facial, including additional modalities and proper finishing--this level of inconsistency is a huge red flag. The massage was also underwhelming. The technique felt minimal and lacked intention, especially compared to my friend's experience, where she described a thorough, tension-relieving service that clearly went above and beyond. I did bring my concerns to the front desk staff before leaving, specifically about both my facial and massage. Unfortunately, the response was disappointing--they looked at each other as if unsure how to respond and offered no feedback, follow-up questions, or attempt to address the situation. At that point, I simply paid and left. (I will add that our initial encounter with the spa front desk girl who gave us a tour was exceptional and had great customer service etiquette. Sadly, she left as I was changing.) Customer service unfortunately didn't improve afterward. I inquired about Pilates Reformer sessions, and the front desk staff were less than helpful. I also followed up via email and didn't receive a response until a week later--which, again, is disappointing for a business of this caliber. Overall, between the inconsistent services, lack of accountability on-site, and delayed customer support, I left feeling that the experience did not reflect the price point or reputation. I had high hopes, but sadly, I'm not very impressed.

It's one of the few times I really get to focus on taking care of myself. Fridays are especially challenging for me personally, so I started scheduling my sessions in the evenings after a particularly stressful part of my week. Eddy has honestly been such a blessing. Even though I haven't really discussed with him how hectic my life can be, he's taught me different warm-up, breathing, and relaxation techniques that have helped me feel more grounded and relaxed. I didn't even realize how much tension I was carrying until I noticed how different I felt after our sessions. I'm relatively new to the gym, and Eddy is so kind and patient that I feel completely comfortable asking him questions. He doesn't just tell me what to do, he teaches me along the way, explains proper body mechanics, and makes sure I understand what I'm doing and why. I'm very grateful for my time training with him. Having a space where I can learn, decompress, and take care of myself for a little while has meant a lot to me all while he helps me reach my fitness goals. Thank you, Eddy!

Honestly it used to be fine. Lately I've PRIMARILY been using the treadmills, but guess what?? EVERYTHING IS BROKEN! At least 1/3 of treadmills are broken every single time I go, sometimes for months! Yesterday I counted 7!! Along with a couple of ellipticals, and previously, every single stair master except for 1. I sometimes only have time to go after work, when there is a huge line!! Multiple weight machines are all broken and old as well upstairs. Tons of people came for the basketball courts, which they closed down! The same machines were broken for so long that I complained to the front desk. They told me that they "put in multiple requests, but it takes weeks for the repairmen to come. Once they do, there are new machines that break after the broken ones have been fixed." Why would it take weeks to repair machines, just to have them break over and over and over? I've never seen this many broken machines at any other gym. The workers also yell at us to get out once we get close to closing time. A few times I was changing in the bathroom, and someone told me over and over again that the gym was closed and to get out. Should I just run out naked? I've heard them yell over the intercom, and make unprofessional "gen z" noises and screeches. Honestly if I didn't get charged the stupid "initiation fee" and "annual fee" I would COMPLETELY run the other way, no hesitation. Literally we should get reimbursed for the trauma we are experiencing and all our time wasted!!

The from desk young guys was better but the other older lady no. I completely understand that clubs have policies, but customer service matters. I love just shooting around--not many places to do that in SF it seems (and some of the public courts intimidate me because people play pick-up!). The rooftop view is wonderful. You can take classes there and also just workout by yourself. Classes-wise, I'm a fan of Ignite (kinda like Barry's) and Zumba and some of their yoga classes. I must, however, give the biggest of shoutouts to - Romina, who teaches barre, dance, and mat pilates. Her classes make my day! She has great energy and is hilarious and kind and welcoming. She deserves a raise and so much love! I'll take anything with her. - Andres who teaches some spin classes--he's a real SF cyclist and pushes people hard. I love his instruction. There's a smoothie-making robot upstairs and some space to work from. They're always remodeling and adapting and adding new classes and revamping one of the many levels (it's a big building.) One day, this tennis player will try squash! I like the diversity of classes. This location is not the easiest to get to public transit-wise, but it's worth getting to! Or walking or biking or running to.

Really disappointing experience at Bay Padel's glow-in-the-dark event…read more The event was clearly overbooked to a ridiculous degree. We arrived just after the recommended regular arrival time expecting to actually play, only to be told that the earliest available time was roughly two hours later, while pickleball had a wait of around four hours. For a paid, ticketed event costing $80+, that's completely unacceptable. If you're selling tickets, there should be some reasonable relationship between the number of people admitted and the actual capacity of the courts and venue. We waited around for about half an hour but ultimately left without playing anything and without even getting a drink. The most frustrating part is that none of this was communicated beforehand. Had we known that buying a ticket effectively meant standing around for hours hoping to get a court, we never would have gone. It felt less like a properly organized event and more like they simply sold as many tickets as possible without much regard for whether attendees could actually participate. Extremely poor planning and a terrible customer experience.

The league has a variety of skill levels from beginning to intermediate. The teams are a variety of students to working folk. It's a good work out and the atmosphere is quite friendly. Location-wise, it's easy to get to by car and you can even take muni there. What's nice is that they also validate your parking for $1.75 for up to 3 hours. Way better to keep your car safe in a garage than parked on the street. The ref, Roger, is pretty fair and has been the ref for as long as I can remember. He doesn't call all the "illegal" plays but it's a more relaxed atmosphere so definitely don't play here if you want every single infraction to be called. The price is a little steep for non-UCSF students and there is no discount for the more people on a team, so the more the merrier doesn't really apply here.
