I don't normally write reviews but I wanted to write one here because there are a lot of other reviews here that don't match my experience. I first saw a 2006 Class C listed on RV trader and the price was extremely reasonable compared to others that were listed in my area. I live in NJ and flew out to Chicago and purchased the rv from Tom. Here is what I can tell you, if you want cheesy sales bs free coffee and someone making believe they give a crap this is not your place. If you want someone who knows what they are doing and is ok telling you the truth about what he is selling you without sugar coating then this is your place. Tom didnt try to oversell or act like something was great when it wasnt or made any attempt to hide anything. Not only that the price we agreed to over the phone is the exact price that I paid no extra surprises no bs and he got me in and out asap. He had his staff ready the RV for my long trip back to NJ they checked air pressure filled up all fluids etc he even filled up the water so I can use the bathroom on the ride. I have purchased a lot of vehicles and campers over my lifetime and this was the only time I showed up, everything was as described, I paid what was agreed to, and left happy with the outcome. Far as i can tell this place is more fraudulent than the moon landing. Cant even pronounce their own name. Shuh-bona???? Its shaw-ben-aw....and its a lake. WHERE IS THE CREEK??? Gorgeous RVs tho. I've read stories about RV dealerships being rude, but I never experienced it until today. Called Shabbona Creek RV in Illinois to schedule service. Called and left messages 3 times with no returned phone calls. On the fourth try, I got through, but was curtly told they won't service what they don't sell. No questions about what type of service I wanted or suggestions of where I might get help. Just no and goodbye. Talk about your red flags. I recommend avoiding this one. read more

We purchased a 2016 Winnebago Forza from Shabbona Creek RV and could not be happier. Our experience with the owner (Tom) in the intial sale was awesome. The service technician (Preston) who worked on our RV is probably one of the most hard working and skilled technicians that I have ever worked with over my lifetime! He is a problem solver that any dealership would be lucky to have! I cannot say enough about (April) who runs the service department, how she got the parts in under warranty and coordinated everything. Preston and Tom even came out on a service call on our RV and that is unheard anymore! I have purchased many RV's and campers over my lifetime, but Shabbona Creek RV is by far the best and most honest RV business that I have ever dealt with. read more

We bought a preowned class A motorhome in April, 2024. We had the best experience with them. The sale process went smoothly and they went above and beyond getting our RV ready for pick up. A one year warranty was included, which really helps with buying a used unit. Our RV went back to have the generator repaired, which is now working perfectly. On a recent trip to Michigan, the convection/microwave went out. We called the service department to see if the warranty covered it (fingers crossed because it would have cost over $500 to replace it) and the woman in the service department said it was and was able to accommodate us bringing in the RV before our next scheduled trip. I wish all companies ran their business the way Shabonna does. They put their customers first, which is so appreciated! We highly recommend Shabonna for purchasing an RV and for service work. read more

I thought Tom was a nice trustworthy person until immediately after purchase my furnace would not stay running. Also my propane regulator was not operating correctly . My Water Heater ignitor was bad. My outside porch light wire contact was corroded. And lastly the sink faucet was extremely loose. 5 items that cost me $ 929.00. Since upon contacting Tom after explaining the issues we were disconnected. I tried twice to call him. No answer. I was very upset and surprised with his attitude. My suggestion is if you buy from this Dealer demand you have an independent company check out your RV before you purchase it. Tom advised me that everything worked.BUYER BE AWARE read more

The salesman who sold me an RV lied to me. They are completely untrustworthy. He told me the RV had been owned by a farmer who kept it in his barn. Come to find out it was actually owned by a national dog showing business. The HVAC was completely ruined by all the dog hair. Even though they sold me a warranty, they said it wouldn't cover anything. read more

I had a heating system issue, with the temperatures heading to freezing, which required immediate attention. Shabbona Creek service department, service technicians and parts department stepped up to the challenge. The problem was diagnosed, part located at the manufacturer in Colorado and the part was shipped in overnight. Within two hours part was installed, contaminated fluids removed/replaced, system checked and homeward bound I was. There hospitality was also very accommodating and appreciated. FULL-TIMERS BEWARE! On 9/28, I contacted Shabbona Creek RV about a holding tank repair (warranted by a company with no dealers in this area). I was told by PRESTON they were booked into November and were NOT willing to shuffle the schedule. I emphasized that, as full-timers, we live in our RV, needed urgent repairs and planned to head south soon. After pleading my case, Preston informed me that he had been on the phone with me for 17 minutes, had 3 other calls on hold, and the fact that I chose to travel full-time in my RV made no difference to him or Shabbona Creek! WOW! Needless to say, I will not be contacting them for ANY issues in the future and have informed the campground owners here of my treatment by this business. read more

I recently experienced a major electrical storm while camped in the area in my motorhome. Evidently, a nearby lightning strike fried my inverter. We asked nearby family if they knew of anyone nearby, and my wife's cousin did some asking around, and then gave us the name of these folks. I called on Wednesday & was able to set up an appointment for Friday, as well as order a replacement inverter. When I rolled in on Friday morning, Stacey & Andy were waiting for me, and I was on my way back to my campsite 2 hours later with a newly installed inverter. Andy even walked my roof for me to look for any damage from a possibly direct lightning strike. These folks are amazing! They even gave me a 10% discount on the inverter for being retired military. :) As a point of reference, I also spoke to a mobile RV mechanic who said he wouldn't even be able to come out for another 2 weeks, and wouldn't even be able to get me into their shop for another week. With Labor Day weekend 1 day away, if it weren't for Shabbona Creek RV, our motorhome would have been without power to most outlets until the inverter was replaced. Super friendly, personable, knowledgeable, & efficient, I just can't say enough good things about Shabbona Creek RV. :) They were there for me 110‰, and I will happily sing their praises at every opportunity. read more

This place is full of SHIT, the owner included!!!! If you are new to the RV world then PLEASE do not go here!!! We were new and went here and was sold a lemon of an RV. It has has been in the shop since we drove it off the lot! The owner saw us coming a mile away and new just how to scam us!!!! This man ( owner ) is not the guy you want to do business with. Don't buy from this place they are not trustworthy... Drove 700 miles from Tn only to be taken advantage of. What I was promised wasn't delivered. I was talked to like nobody has ever talked to me as a woman alone. If a man had been with me he would have decked this guy. When I complained about not getting the things I was promised he told me to leave without the camper and go home. He knew how far I came and used that against me. I only negated two things. One was a cover for my new camper. I wrote on buyers order a cover. I didn't describe it to be for a little guy max, so guess what I got. A cheap cover that in no way fits my camper. I caught that the electric jack was damaged and bent and they replaced it telling me this one is better. lol Yeah better alright like 450.00 cheaper for them is what they really meant. The whole ordeal has been a mess. Just take my word for it you can't believe this owner he's just really a cheap suited salesman. read more
