I received an email back in Dec 22' bribing me with $100 to take down my review as well as a message this morning Apr 24' asking me to empathize with them to remove my review. I'm entitled to share my experience whether it be good or bad as this is why this app was created. Again... when I first came to the facility I asked to be put on a reservation list for a specific litter and give a deposit for a puppy. I was told they didn't have a list/deposit... which was a lie because they did as stated on their welcome email that says there's a $100 non refundable deposit to be put on a reservation list. I understand the owner fell sick and I sympathized with that. However I reached out numerous times to multiple people and no one ever got back to me about the litter. Everyone just told me the owner would be contacting me. He never did. I was never communicated with properly about the situation/puppies. I was lied to about the deposit/reservation from the start. I was a client that was expecting a puppy and I was ignored. Of course, only after I wrote a review on Yelp did I get a response. Never once did anyone try and resolve things with me, yet they have the audacity to ask me to take the review down. My review still stands as is. read more

I was hopeful to get help training my Border Collie puppy, needed to get her into a schedule, basic training but specially potty training and crate. According to the business they were doing that, they showed me some tricks the puppy learned, but overall it seemed very basic. I left the puppy almost 1 month, over $2000 so i was expecting big changes in behavior and scheduling but as i got my puppy back and brought home, it was total disaster. We have a 10 year old service dog and a 10 Month old service dog (females) from Shadalane! I e could not be more pleased with both of our girls! I am actually appalled that this place could have any bad reviews. Very few things have changed our lives or made an impact as much as our dog Toby. We bought him from Shadalene right before the pandemic, and sometimes we feel like we actually got an angel-not a dog. We've watched hundreds of dogs and love dogs but not one creature comes close to Toby in any single way. Anyone who has met him is in awe of his temperament and how sweet he is. Shelley and Alan trained him super well and he never had one accident in our house. He snuggles us every night and is the most loving, affectionate creature we've ever seen. Truly, Toby has become the best part of every day. We couldn't even imagine our life for a second without him now. We lost our beautiful, best girl in the world, Golden Retriever, Jersey, in Feb. 2022. While we needed time and room to grieve, we also knew we would eventually need to fill the gaping hole left in our lives. We spent a lot of time researching breeds and breeders to decide on our next puppy. It soon became apparent that nothing but a Golden would fill the need for us and that Shadalane was likely the best breeder in the San Diego County area. They are highly recommended with loads of certifications. And when you first arrive at their "ranch" your heart fills with joy to be surrounded by so many beautiful and loving Golden Retrievers. That first visit, we had an appointment with Shelley, the lead trainer and fortunately we arrived just a few days after their most recent litter was born. We were impressed enough to make a deposit to reserve a puppy from that litter. We found their process supportive of prospective puppy parents. We went back to visit as soon as the puppies were old enough to be safely around visitors and spent a fun filled hour playing with all the females from the litter. At our next visit we were allowed to pick out our puppy and we were on our way. One of the advantages of getting your Golden puppy from Shadalane is that they keep the puppy until they are about 6 months old and provide basic puppy skills and behavior training. They are honest and caution new parents to know that consistent training must continue after you bring the puppy home, but their training staff, especially Rosa, was excellent. We were able to set up weekly appointments to go up to Shadalane and work with Rosa and with our puppy. We also were able to bring her home for short visits to get her used to her new surroundings before the final move. They also kept her clean and healthy as they have a groomer on site and a veterinarian that comes to the property to care for the pups. We brought Kenya home mid-November and she is a joy. Is she perfectly well behaved, no, but she is way ahead of the curve as I look around us at other neighborhood dogs and she works well in her training sessions. She is a sweet girl with a great disposition, she is growing into a beautiful young Golden and believe me, everyone she meets loves her. Also, I have been able to reach out to Shelley and Rosa with questions and they have been supportive and helpful. While Shadalane is a bit pricey, you get what you pay for, and we are completely satisfied. We would highly recommend Shadalane Golden Retrievers for a high-quality experience and a beautiful loving furry family member. read more

This breeding/ boarding facility is not what it claims to be, so be careful. We were possibly going to buy a one-year old Golden Retriever there, and were willing to drive quite a distance to board our dachshunds for a couple of nights there so, as was promised, the dogs could be introduced and befriended. Our one dog needs urine expressed and uses wheels for active play, and we were assured that a vet tech would be there to care for him. An additional charge was quoted for this need, understandably. When we arrived it was a disaster. We saw no grassy runs, beautiful play yards, miles of trails, everything promised on the phone message and by the people with whom we talked. Instead several dogs were on concrete, in temporary holding fences. It smelled like urine and was not at all a luxury area, as described. We wouldn't leave our dogs in that environment. But.... they had no one to take care of our dog with medical needs. They were so dishonest in what they provide that we not only wouldn't leave our dogs, we won't be buying their $5500 Golden Retriever. read more

We have a nine month old Golden Retriever, named Gunther he is our third golden in the last 20 years. We have gone through four dog trainers. We just couldn't get our golden to stop biting in a playful manner or pulling on the leash. We took Gunther to Shadalane to leave him for boot camp. Shelly the dog trainer worked with him for about an hour and suggested that we just do some training secessions with her, on a one on one! After a few training sessions Gunther is a different dog! We are in the process of purchasing an intermediate trained puppy. Fiona, is already the love of our heart. They have done such an amazing job of working with her to bring out a gentle and calm personality. She is bright and learns easily. After many months of searching for the right puppy and breeder, I came across Shadalane's website. Seeing images of their facilities and their goldens, I decided to fill out a puppy questionnaire. Few days later I received a call from a very friendly lady and explained everything so well. So, I decided to agree to a puppy for an expected litter, and gave a deposit. Few weeks past and I didn't hear back with any updates, so I gave them a call. I learned that the breeding wasn't successful and that I would be put on another wait list. After months of no word, I emailed them requesting a refund of the deposit. No reply! Months after that I received a call asking me "Are you ready for your puppy, that is ready for pickup?". I was like, what? I don't live in the area so I would need to make travel arrangement. I was caught of guard. However, I was still interested, so I asked for more details on the sire and dam, and any pictures of the puppy. I was sent documentation that didn't seem to add up, documents for a Vizsla and other forms that didn't contain parent info and certifications. I also was sent a fuzzy picture of a few puppies with no indication of which puppy I would be receiving, and the back of the head of what I assumed was the dam. It seem too shady for me so I decided not to move forward with the puppy. A year later and I still haven't received a refund of the deposit. read more
