Only two things were excellent about Shade IQ. The fabrics we chose were beautiful and their installer, Chad. The craftsmanship was poor. We had to send various panels back, and back again and again because a panel was not made to measure, the pleates were not pleates, They were pleates on the top however did not fall at the bottom as pleates. No matter what the installers did (steam, manually fold and ties), they did not stay pleated at the bottom, they were uneven, they did not close properly. Finally, after many adjustments, our drapes have been hung and look nice. Perhaps the fabric choice was not good. We ordered an electronic shade, to open and close electrically, but after one or two time use, it stopped working. The installer called Hunter Douglas, they sent a new shade out - twice. Finally we decided on returning the shade for a manual shade. read more

We decided on ShadeIQ after meetings and bids with multiple contractors. Chad & Anthony are very communicative and responsive, and helpful in making very ergonic and durable design choices. Anthony was very thorough and precise in helping us select materials and design features for our new Roman Shades, and made every effort to ensure they came out to our liking which he succeeded at. They also uninstalled and reinstalled over 50 Hunter Douglas shades for us quickly, ensuring they all worked properly, fitted into our new windows. In fact we had an issue with a couple of the blinds, not related to installation, which they graciously came back to fix. All shades are working perfectly. I usually don't write reviews, but I believe Shade IQ deserves more than a stellar review. We had installed our Simplicity motorized shades 7 years ago and one of the shades suddenly stopped functioning recently. The company that we originally purchased the shades from assured us that all the motors had a lifetime warranty but went back on their words and bailed on us. I had called several shade companies who claim to do shade repairs, but most of them couldn't be bothered with repairs since either they didn't work with our type of shades or thought it was a small job. I was finally able to talk to Chad from Shade IQ, who said he could help us. Initially, it was thought the wire was a problem since there was a little nick in the wire as it probably got caught when the shade went up and down. Chad helped us fixed the wire, but it turned out to be a motor malfunction issue. Shade IQ usually only works with Hunter Doughlas products and ours were not Hunter Doughlas. Chad went the extra miles to do his research to help us find a motor on Amazon that could work with our existing remote, installed it. Once the motor was installed, the shade still couldn't be programmed. Chad took his time and contacted the motor company technical support to try and get the motor to pair with our remote. We realized in the end the issue was batteries were low, causing the shade not to pair. All of this resulted in Chad having to come to our home 3 different times. Shade IQ never charged us more for the extra trips they took or when they couldn't get the shade to work the first time. Throughout the entire process, Chad was very nice and professional with his service. I highly recommend Shade IQ for anyone looking to install window shades or shutters or just looking for repair. I was very impressed with their professionalism and the high level of service they provided! read more
