At the time I dropped off my awards, I was told they were a little backed up and that the work would take approximately three weeks to complete. I also paid a $180 deposit to begin the work. After about a month without any communication, I went to the shop to check on the status of my order. I was told that they had received emergency or rush orders that took priority over mine. That explanation was frustrating because I had already paid a substantial deposit and expected my order to be completed in the timeframe I was given. By mid-June, I returned to check on my order again, and it was still not finished. During my next visit in the first week of July, I was given a different explanation. I was told that the frames had been on backorder, that they had recently arrived, and that my order would be completed by the end of the following week. After waiting nearly three more weeks, I returned to the shop today, only to be told that my frames were still not ready. It has now been almost three months since I entrusted this business with my awards, despite originally being quoted a three-week turnaround. What is most disappointing is not simply the delay, but the repeated changes in the explanation and the lack of proactive communication. Throughout this process, I have had to repeatedly visit the shop just to get updates. Being told that "it's just me behind the counter taking orders" does not justify a delay of nearly three months or excuse the failure to keep customers informed. If the original estimate was unrealistic, I should have been given an honest timeframe from the beginning. If unexpected issues arose, a simple phone call or email would have gone a long way. Instead, I have received multiple explanations, repeated promises that the work would be completed "next week," and still have not received the finished product. As a returning customer, this experience has been extremely disappointing. I chose this frame shop because of the quality of service I received in the past, but it seems that things have gone downhill. At this point, I expect a clear completion date and for the business to honor the commitment it made when it accepted my order and my deposit.

Upon speaking with the store owner, Emmanuel, he offered to meet me halfway to deliver the item. He drove 2 hours to meet me in Charlottesville. I couldn't believe he offered to do that, but was incredibly pleased and impressed that he was willing to do so. He was very friendly and took the time to tell me about the wood, how it was treated and how to maintain it. The shelf looks incredible (as do all the other custom wood items I see on the website). Quality products, tremendous service.
