my dental insurance stated they were in my network for periodontist. when I called to make the appointment they said they had a periodontist from the name shown on my Insurance. I made the appointment and when I got there they said they don't have a periodontist. I had to Uber oth ways do it cost me money for nothing. They were polite but that didn't help my pocketbook. This Dental office is one of the worst I have ever encountered in my 67 years of being on the planet. Pam Holloway, the Office Manager was absolutely irresponsible and totally unprofessional when she booked my appointment. I told her my situation was urgent and I needed to see the Doctor asap! so she claimed she was booking me for a Monday appointment, so considering I spoke to her face to face on Friday-- an appointment on Monday would have been great. When Monday came, I noticed early that morning that the appointment had been changed 2 weeks out, with no warning or change notification. I was extremely upset that she didn't take my concerns seriously so I went to another Dentist ---who saw me ---the same day I called. Turns out it's going to cost me over $10,000 to fix a split tooth. It will be the first tooth extraction I've ever had. I'm sure this could have been avoided if this Dentist team was more professional and showed more genuine interest in their patients. Why have a job if you're not willing to work to benefit the people who need your service. I even work in their building. I don't understand the negative reviews. I was skeptical because of them, but I had a tooth emergency and very few offices take my insurance. I called them right when they opened and they were able to squeeze me in on the same day. Everyone was very professional. I was so embarrassed to go, but everyone was really sweet and understanding. They gave me a comprehensive treatment plan (along with their prices) upfront. The office was clean and WiFi was available. I called to make an appointment on Friday at 1340 only to find out that the office closes at 1400 and no one was available. The voicemail let me know that the office hours are on a Friday 09-1400. I recently went to this dentist for the only one reaso. They took over the office and my original dentist had moved to a different locatio. I asked if everything was still in my record about my anxiety and needing gas for my visit and was told yes. I show up to my appointment and they had not scheduled me for the nitrous oxide. I could were trying to get me to leave and come back later but I said no because I would not come back. They moved me 3 times until they fi got me to a room with the gas equipmen. The dental tech was annoyed at having to deal with someone that has a phobia. Even the dentist seemed to not want to deal with me. Dr's are not respectful of patient or parents time. My son has been here twice and both times we have waited for about an hour before someone even notified us of what was going on. The office is always empty but yet the Dr is always "busy." There is no communication what so ever and then staff gets an attitude when questions are asked. The staff and doctor were very friendly and professional prior to and during my operation. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the staff after experiencing their complete lack of professionalism and courtesy during the billing process. Trouble first started when they billed me up front, out of pocket for the anesthesia for my wisdom teeth extraction. Unknown to me at the time, they should NOT be doing this since they are a preferred client for my insurance company. They then incorrectly billed my insurance for the anesthesia at $0, which means they did not receive payment from Delta for any of the medication that they had previously billed me for. After contacting the office they refused to refund me the $500 for the anesthesia until they were refunded by delta. The decision was made by the insurance coordinator despite it being a result of their unethical business practice. After working with the insurance company and insurance coordinator at Shadow Creek Ranch Dental Specialists, the coordinator agreed to promptly resubmit a bill to my insurance provider. Unfortunately, she did not care enough to fill out the paper work correctly, resulting in a denied claim. After leaving multiple messages for the insurance coordinator and office manager, I have yet to hear anything back from either. The operation was in April of 2016, it's now October and I am still out $500, and they are still not returning communications. They take advantage of unsuspecting patients, then refuse to accept responsibility for their mistake. It is a shame that unethical policies and practices can allow this dental office to thrive. My son was schedule at 9:00 and I was scheduled at 10:00. My son appt ended before 9:30 and instead of me been seen right after him another patient that came in After we did was seen before me. I went a dropped my son to school and came back for my appt at 10:00. When I asked I was told the other pt was a last minute schedule and that because of covid pts are been schedule every hr. So I don't understand if my son was scheduled at 9 and me at 10:00 how the other pt was scheduled in between us? read more

While checking in for my procedure I was told my credit card was declined. After dealing with the bank in a panic for 5 minutes the lady running my card finally acknowledged she had done it wrong and when she did it correctly my card went through. That should have been a sign of things to come. I was then escorted back. My blood pressure was taken, a bib was put on and the television tuned to an animal show. I sat there for 45 minutes before the doctor even came in to acknowledge my presence. When we finally began the procedure the lack of a working relationship between the periodontitis and her assistant was evident. The assistant even said to the periodontist "I've never worked with you so I don't know how you like things" while the doctor is cutting in my mouth. The assistant had to leave the room 3-4 times to get supplies and instruments. She was talking on her ear piece to other employees to get them to clean other rooms. Her attention was clearly not on the procedure I was undergoing. I wasn't sent home with any printed material on how to care for my mouth post surgery. They did tell me a ton of stuff though. As for as the quality of the procedure I'm going to have to assume everything went well. I say assume because when I made my follow up appointment I was told the periodontist is only there on Thursday and 2pm was the first appointment. I explained I would be working then and was told it would only take 15-20 minutes and since o was the first appointment I would go back right away. I made arrangements with work and showed up 10 minutes prior to my follow up appointment. I waited until 10 after 2 to go back then had my blood pressure taken, a bib put on and the television turned on to an animal shoe. Deja vu. I say for another 20 minutes and heard the dentist start with a patient that came in after me. I got up too my bib off and told the dentist I can't just sit here for 30 minutes. I told the same thing to the front desk as I left. No one called me to apologize or make things right but I bet they charged by insurance for the follow up visit though I have to confirm and disputed that charge. I spent a lot of money upfront out of pocket and my insurance paid even more. Very poor patient care and an obvious disregard for ethics make it clear this office is just out to take your money. I will never go back and will tell anyone that will listen to avoid this office at all costs. read more

I get my teeth cleaned regularly. Like clockwork. I struggle with periodontal disease, and must stay on top of it. Recently, I had to find a new dentist (after 7 years), as my last dentist stopped taking my insurance a week before my cleaning appt. I made an appointment with Shadow Creek Ranch Dental Specialists since it's close to work and is in my network. I waited a month to get in. When I got there they couldn't see me because they were not listed on my insurance as my dentist. I had to call the company, change the dentist, then wait another month to be seen. FINALLY, I get there to have my teeth cleaned. The visit was going well once the x-ray tech finally finished, I couldn't believe how many x-rays were taken (at least 20, maybe more). I really liked the hygienist and the dentist, they were both personable, and seemed competent. I should have realized things were going south, when I had to wait 10 or 15 minutes to see the person who was supposed to go over my "treatment plan". She didn't go over anything, she just told me my insurance doesn't cover deep cleaning. The price with a 25% insurance discount was $1430, and must be paid in two installments. That was it. Period. No other info was forthcoming. When I asked if I could go ahead and get a regular periodic cleaning, I was told that would not serve my best interest... I feel what would NOT serve MY best interest is paying more for root planing than it costs for a root canal! I was unable to have my teeth cleaned for 9 months, as a result, my gums developed a few deeper than usual "pockets". My only options shouldn't be to pay $1430 to get my teeth cleaned, or change dentists AGAIN. This is unacceptable to me. read more

I would rate this place a B- at best. The actual care that I received was done correctly but it took 3 months to get a surgery scheduled which entailed me calling multiple times. They have very strict guidelines for timeliness but that just seems unfair considering they are located right off 288 and there are no guarantees you will be seen on time either. The staff discusses your care plan right in the waiting area in front of other patients which has to be some kind of HIPAA violation. Also the post surgery care was very poor at best ...no one even asked if I was ok or even took an assessment post sedation.There were no pain meds given for post care and the staff was very non chalant about my concerns for pain management. read more

Almost everyone in the office was great except for one lady. She just had to take X-rays of my 3yr old daughters teeth and kept gagging her and then eventually just got someone else. She also wasn't very patient with my daughter. I think she was new, but i wish she would have practiced her skills and patience on an older patient who wasn't scared. read more

I had been a client at shadow Creek dental my experience has not been pleasant at all I had an appointment for 4-18-2017 to have a tooth removed they called me friday to confirm appt. Then I was told something was wrong with my insurance after we got that straight then was told that my out of pocket would be $745.00 I have PPO and HMO so I asked them why was it so expensive she told me they were doing a bone graft and something else. I just wanted the tooth extracted that's it she told me to hold on the phone while she find out what's going on when she came back she told me that the Dr. recommened that procedure and it can't be changed even if I didn't won't the procedure done. I took days off work, I am still in pain now I have to find another Dentist. I wasn't treated fair I know all they want is the Money Don't care about the patients well being. This tooth could be infected or whatever didn't want to see me unless I agreed to pay $745.00. These where the people I trusted to take care of my dental needs.
