We took a mixology class with Lorna, our first class post Pandemic, and we loved it! Lorna was so much fun and easy-going. She was knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions and also provided easy to follow instructions on how to build our own cocktails (mocktails, too!). I'm not sure what I expected as the class listed 9 pasta dishes to be made... A part of me expected to see a scene from The Muppets where the Swedish Chef wrestles with a plate of pasta before getting attacked by it. There were a dozen of us, all seated comfortably around the large kitchen island. The cooking facility was spacious, clean, and well organized- the perfect space for a large group to move freely and cook amongst each other. We were offered complimentary water, tea, and coffee throughout the class. Chef Christie was amazing! Her upbeat energy was a pleasure to be around and her instructions were clear and concise. Her friendly persona made it easy to ask questions. We learned to make basic, egg, and wheat dough and shaped them into spaghetti, fettuccine, cavatelli, and ravioli. We then made some classic sauces to go with them: Bolognese, puttanesca, bacon tomato, and caramelized onion cheese. In addition to that, we made a cheese tortellini soup, sausage tomato lasagna, seafood cannelloni with basil cream sauce, butternut agnolotti with sage butter, and a spinach ravioli with charred tomato sauce. It is dark & dreary! Brightening it up would make a HUGE difference & would probably help members be more cheery!!!

Remember I talked to one of the district managers on the phone and I told him that the arthritis was pretty bad and my back was this messed up and he was nice and he just said oh that's that's hard to manage. It's always the fact that it's never too late, but you have to know how to build the muscles up so you don't hurt yourself worse and the only way to do that is with the trainer and unfortunately they need to work too and I can't afford that. Wrong. There were two simultaneous pasta classes going. Our group seemed to have no clear direction. There were two pasta rollers and each kept malfunctioning with the handles falling off. It was at this point one couple left. It only went downhill from there. My sister kept saying we should just leave but I wanted to learn how to make pasta! And I paid a lot for this class so i was going to learn! But I did not. The revolt began and people just began cooking on their own (which in the end turned out quite well!!) just so we could eat at some point. We could hear the other class drinking wine and sitting down to eat, and our lasagna wasn't even in the oven yet. Another ominous sign. Our chef was very kind but it was clear he was not ready for this. It was my second and last visit to the KC, I walked away with no additional skills. Waste of 3.5 hours (though the class was scheduled for only 2.5) and 65 bucks.

Our nanny has been to several swim schools and says this is the best he's seen and really likes it. Occasionally one of the babies will cry the whole lesson but mine has loved it! It's located in an old Aldi Supermarket. The water is 90 degrees and the building is completely warm. The dressing room has two changing rooms with a baby table, otherwise there is a large baby changing area in the open. The hard part is changing yourself after baby. I recommend to have a partner if you're bringing a baby, although only one can get in the water. There is a lot of viewing space. There are 5 lanes, each with a class going on. Classes are 30 min and can be once or twice a week. They also offer winter camps. You're allowed to make up a class if there's a reasonable reason they missed and that is all done through the portal. Overall, I highly recommend it!
