My large shade that was installed outside was secured with hardware to prevent it from blowing in the wind. Also, if I choose to motorize it at a later date I have that option.. Leo was fantastic from start to finish and we are so happy with our custom drapes. We needed sheer draping added in our master bedroom and a blackout solution in our child's nursery. The blackout shade turned out even better than I imagined. He built a pull down blackout shade with tracks on the side so ZERO light comes in. This window was particularly difficult because its floor-to-ceiling and gets direct sunlight in the morning. In front, he put a sheer drape so we can still have the blackout shade up with privacy curtains. The sheer also adds a softness to the room, as it is a nursery. He explained everything, laid out my options, and the pricing was transparent. The entire process was seamless and easy, from booking an online consultation, to the installation. The project wasn't cheap, but well worth it in my opinion. I had initially tried a DIY solution for the nursery and my advice to everyone is to skip that headache and just book Leo at Shadows! read more

Before choosing to go with Leo and Shadows Custom Window Coverings we spoke to, and got quotes from two other Window Covering companies. We ultimately chose Leo because of his attention to detail, his patience with helping us choose our window coverings, and his very fair pricing. He provided us with a few different options that he felt would work well for our home and for the goal we were trying to achieve, which was to have privacy while still allowing natural light to come into the house. We wanted to be able to see outside, but didn't want the interior of our home to be visible from the outside. We ultimately chose Roller Shades with 5% Openness, and we're really pleased with the result. For our bedroom we wanted additional privacy for a more blackout effect for when we're sleeping. Leo came up with a really creative way to achieve this by adding a second shade to the bedroom windows: 5% Openness Roller Shade + Total Light Blocking Roller Shade (see pic "double shades") - so at night all we have to do is lower the second shade and we have complete darkness :) On the day of install, Leo supervised the technician, and stayed for installation of all the shades.
