Fall: pick your own pumpkins, haunted house and activities for kids. Live music, food and drinks also available on their outdoor fairground. Gets very crowded on weekends but still a good time. Fun for families or couples/young adults without kids. Winter: Drive through lights display!! Drive through in your own car or ride on their open air hayride. Can get pretty busy on weekend nights. If you go early in the season you can get discounted tickets. They also offer a season pass for those that want to drive through multiple times. Bonfire, s'mores making and hot cocoa available for purchase. In addition to these seasonal activities they have a market inside where they sell ice cream, produce, meat and dairy products, sandwiches, salads and other food items. Pretty good variety. Stopped by on a regular Friday evening- not near any holiday- just to grab drinks. Seating is limited in the bar area (both at the bar and at the tables), so you'll have to come early if you don't want to be standing. We started with a wine flight. There's six per flight, and the samples are just 2oz, or about one sip. There's a good variety with fruity sweet wines and dryer red wines. I think my only real complaint is that the wine menu doesn't include a description of each one, describing the tastes. We tried one that was a type I've never heard of, and I think if I was able to read a description then I would have passed on that one. There's also some local craft beer available both on tap and in cans. Also pretty good variety. Tonight in particular, there was some kind of special on the Troegs and it was absolutely delicious. We picked up some bottles to go, which were reasonably priced, as well as some of the cheese. The cheese choices left a little to be desired, as they were all just regular choices and nothing unique or fancy, but the sharp aged white cheddar I picked out did taste great. I took home a bottle of the chocolate milk as well, which I wasn't particularly impressed with. Still, it was a fun Friday evening and I'm sure we'll be back. read more

Their name saids it all. Shady. I wouldn't even give this place one star however I couldn't submit the review if I didn't. Here's our experience. We brought tickets for fireworks on the 3rd of July, it was cancelled due to rain. Ok I get that. I sent several emails asking for a refund. No response. When finally contacted customer service (being frustrated that no one responded to my emails) I was met by a woman who let me know that the tickets were non refundable!!! And that she was on vacation and that she had this and that going on....blah blah blah. excuses excuses excuses. Upon clarification they let me know, I could spend the $50 ish some dollars on another venue event they produced in the future, and for me to "adjust my attitude". Certainly this threw gas on the fire for one that is already frustrated. In what customer service manual does it recommend that??? When I asked for the manager, the manager was equally disrespectful going BACK and FORCE auguring with me and now my husband---the customer!!! For all my years in customer service, to be told to "adjust my attitude" when hearing that I had to go to another one of their rinki dink shows and that I'm out 50 ish plus dollars as well as dealing with a customer service representative chastising us for being upset-- ya'll have lost your minds. I give you and this bs place less then zero. You clearly need to review what it is to be in your job and your job description because you and the manager have no clue as to how to deal with your frustrated public at large. On top of it all, they said that we can let our friends have said tickets for a future event--if we didn't want to go--but why would I tell all my friends to patronage this awful place when clearly customer service is sooooooo rude--- such an immature reactionary response from a place of business. This is a really great place to go for some Christmas cheer. They have a fantastic light show. It costs $30 a car load or you can take the tractor drawn wagon for $12 per person. My 6 year old loved the show and wanted to do it again. I prefer the wagon because I always think the driver gets the short end of the stick and can't enjoy the ride if you drive. The really nice thing here is they have ancillary activities that cost nothing or very little. You can roast marshmallows and hotdogs. They have spiced apple cider and hot cocoa too. The whole place is very festively decorated and there are great spots for photos all over. If you want pictures with Santa they have that too. The bottom line is this is a great place to get into the Christmas spirit and they have a great light show as well. I highly recommend this place at Christmas. read more

Bought a watermelon that turned out to be rotten inside. Took photos of the inside for reference and then called for refund. The manager told me that the policy was to bring back the entire cut-open messy watermelon. I explained that I am a senior citizen and it was difficult to drive back there with the messy watermelon. I explained that I took photos of the watermelon and he said that did not matter. I asked for the owner or another manager and this person hung up on me. Five minutes later, I called back, asked for the owner and the woman immediately hung up on me. I will NEVER go there again. read more

Fantastic night at their outdoor summer music festival. $5 admission to great live music and lots of kids activities for a regular wrist band. A friend scored us VIP bands which made the BBQ and most drinks almost 1/2 priceZ I'm not sure how or who got these but if you. An get them, get one! They had the largest bounce space I've ever seen for kids. Small farm area with turkeys, ducks and I'm not sure what else. Corn horn and lawn darts for adults that need to be kept busy. Fantastic BBQ food and farm to table dining with inexpensive wine and beer including several sangria and fruit options. The crowd was a nice mix of families, young adults, and seniors all hanging out together. The alcohol was flowing heavily but the crowd was fun and light and very family appropriate. Lots of picnic table seating if you arrive early but bring chairs if you are a latecomer. Ran into so many locals that apparently knew about this little gem and never told me! Rumor has it that a bar is opening here in a few weeks! I hope they keep up with all the outdoor extras for the fall! read more

DO NOT waste your money on Fall Fest. $18 per person for a ticket on the weekend. The "staggered" ticket time was a joke because they have no way to monitor how long you stay inside. More than half the customers there were NOT WEARING A MASK. Another quarter of customers only had their mouth covered and nose was out of mask. The hayrides were jam packed so we refused to get on them. The corn maze was filled with a ton of non masked guests. As far as pumpkin picking area goes.. a ton of pumpkins were smashed, damaged, looked absolutely terrible. read more

Be warned! Please read before placing any orders with shady brook farms and reconsider doing so! There are dozens of landscape shops around to buy from do not be another one of shady brook farms victims! I've included the letter I wrote to both owners of the company as well as a picture of proof that they have indeed discriminated against me for complaining about this situation. For 12 years I was a loyal customer of shady brook farm and I used them as one of my main sources for material for my contracting business. In those 12 years I spent hundreds of thousands of dollars at shady brook farm. One day shady brook farm and one of their managers decided to screw me over on one of my jobs, in which I had placed a delivery for material with them. Shady brook farm cost me my customer and lost me the job. When I complained to them about this situation and the harm they had caused me, to my shock and horror they told me not to use them again. As if it wasn't bad enough that shady brook lost me one of my long term clients they had the audacity to take no accountability or responsibility for their actions. I was expecting shady brook to be extremely apologetic and offer to come out and make an apology to my customer in person and perhaps offer to do several orders on them to remedy the situation and honor my loyalty to them for over a decade, as most companies would have done. In my 15 years of professional experience I have never encountered anything like the way shady brook conducts themselves. Be warned!! If you order something from shady brook and they screw it up, they will blame it on you, not fix it or remedy it and will not take responsibility for doing so! I have thousands of customers in the area, I have shared my experience with this company with many of them and there are about 40 who have said they will never consider buying a plant from shady brook farm again. These people also have told others, so not only did they lose me as a customer but potentially hundreds of others as the ripple effect unfolds from how they treat their customers. This review is for the winter light show. We traveled about an hour from the other side of Philly to see this cool display. Worth the trip. We arrived early so checked out the inside which had a cool ice cream counter, beautiful fruits/veggies, prepared foods, counter deli, shelf stable items and a freezer section. There were so many tasty treats to choose from that we got a bit of it all. The light show was really cool ($25 per car). $25 is fair given the amounts of lights. We drove around 4 mph and aparrently that was not slow since we were not passed (there are 2 lanes). The kids loved picking out the different displays and seeing who will see what next. After the cool light show we stopped at the "smores cart" and picked up kit which makes 8. It is such a cool concept/idea. The only BAD part was instead of giving you a bag of store marshmallows (less then a buck) they gave you some that were opened from another package. The fault in this is that marshmallows go STALE quickly. Ours marshmallows were stale but the kids were good sports about it. The kids loved playing in the cool playground while we rested by the firepit (I think they had at least 8 fire pits going) with plenty of seating. We also went up to the prezel shed for some soft pretzels. They had all types of food from cider, vinegar, kettle corn.. etc. I saw groups arriving as we were leaving. They had their blankets for their wagon tour ($12pp). I think that is the way to go. I don't think I would take the hike to see the lights each year (maybe every other year) but the next time we do we will definitely do it in the wagon. We will definitely be back. read more

We had a wonderful time! Great light display with all sorts of different themes and characters. Loved the 12 days of Christmas and Noah's Ark the best. Would have been 5 stArs but there wasn't music synced up to the show, which we experience at light displays near home, and the traffic to get in was crazy! We waited 45 mins to get in and it only takes about 20/25 mins to drive thru the entire show. We would come again when visiting Sesame Place, but would try to come on a weekday or less busy time of night if possible. read more

The light show was great and worth the $25 we paid online, to pay $40 at the door wouldn't have been worth it. Nonetheless it was a fun family experience. However, when you got out of your car, there was a large number of people unmasked and not socially distant. I don't recommend this part of the farm during quarantine. Quite a few people had no respect for staying 6 ft apart while we tried to get to our campfire. And there were LOTS of people. Definitely my most high risk activity since March of 2020. Keep that in mind if you have high risk individuals. There are hordes of people. Overall great for non pandemic times, high risk for pandemic times. read more

I loved the drive through to see the Christmas lights after Christmas. We bought funnel cake and popcorn and the warm apple cider prior to our lighting adventure. It's better to purchase tickets online to save 10 dollars so instead of 50 it was 40. We even stopped by their farm market store to get a few sweets, pies and strawberry rhubarb jam. Just watch the people in a hurry but still it was very enjoyable. read more

We drove up here the day after Christmas. It was packed with people around the fire pits toasting marshmallows. This is our second time coming up and we are trying to make it a yearly tradition. The drive through light display is fantastic. We wish there was a way to drive through a second time without having to pay another $20. Let me start by saying, I never write reviews however, I feel compelled due to my recent experience with Shady brook farm. I scheduled a party event back in August. I had to pay a fee of $225 to reserve the spot... fine. I show up to the farm to check my party in and come to find that it was extremely disheveled & not one person working there knew what they were doing regarding checking my party in. After sitting around for 15 minutes, I was told I needed to wait in line which was practically wrapped around the whole parking lot to check my party in -How embarrassing to know that all of my guests are arriving while I'm still waiting in line. (If you're a paying customer who is paying for a very overpriced event, you should be able to be checked in upon arrival and waiting in line shouldn't be negotiable)When getting to the check in part, I was told the price for the party and I about fell over due to getting misinformation pertaining to admissions on the phone months before. This place is EXPENSIVE. I also would like to mention that a good amount of the staff were very rude to me & my party guests. Was given the wrong amount of tickets after my husband paid... then, the party event planning staff caused a scene due to my party and I being at the wrong pavilion when we were specifically told to go there. Please avoid this place at all costs. They are shady, rude, and money hungry people who do not care about their guests. To think I have given them my business for all these years just makes it worse. I really would like to have people informed and avoid the headache of this place, especially with event planning. I tried contacting management a day after the party and surprise, surprise, ghost. Briefly spoke to several higher ups after contacting them since they didn't have the courtesy to contact me & come to find were dismissive, unprofessional, ignorant, and rude. After all of this, they decided to refund me $225 and that's it. Please avoid this place at all costs! read more

Love this place. Being new to the area my wife go there often and try to get something different each time. I get my wife flowers every week and they are fragrant and look great for at least a week. The meats are 2nd to none around here. Hit a local grocery store for meat and learned our lesson. We will pay a little more for a better meat. I just wish some of the shoppers there understand that there is plenty go around and it its not going away. Sometimes I feel like I am in a bumper car ride with shopping carts. read more

The light display was very fun and there was a large variety! This was our first year going, so I'm interested to see if things repeat in future years or if it's different each time. My wife and I were driving by as saw the Christmas lights drive through area from the highway. It looked amazing and festive. We decided to drive in, we drove through a bit and there wasn't a gate or anything so we figured that it was free just like one we just went to in Lewes DE called schellville Christmas village. So we were driving and came to a shack (so I guessed that we would have to pay). It was a little wait until we came to the window. A lady stuck her head out and demanded our ticket. I I apologized and said sorry we don't have a ticket. We're new here and saw the lights from the road. The lady rudely said it's $60 to get in. Wow! That's ridiculous. I asked one to get out of here!! She pointed at the side and slammed the window. Kid you not guys, there is a whole separate road for people that refuse their insanely high prices. Trying to get out was horrible. There were cones and abandoned parking lots everywhere. I ran over a few cones to avoid driving in circles. The funny thing was, most of the light displays were advertising for local businesses so why was it so expensive?? read more

I'm a sucker for this type of business. I love it when farmers and their families find ways to make their life easier and still hold onto the land. And places like this build great family memories too. Although based on other reviews the operation has scaled down somewhat, they also seem to be paving the way for other more adult experiences. We came for the ice cream but had to venture inside to see what was available here. With Apple season well underway they were showcasing a few varieties of local offerings, can't remember exact price but it was under $2 per lb and the fruit looked nice. They also had a good selection of other produce just over supermarket prices, still some local toms too. A decent cheese case with several DiBrunno Bros offerings among other things. A prepared foods case looked promising but our late evening visit was not the time to try anything. A brownie was agreed upon and it was pretty good. We skipped the gardening store if it was even still open. My biggest surprise was the bar. It was packed, but this was a Saturday and it is kind of small. Had I not had a few glasses of wine prior to arriving I would have ventured in farther to whet my whistle. Website research confirmed what I sensed, they only serve local beer and wine( see site for listing) Food can be brought in from store( yup, I'm thinking cheese and crackers or other snacks) but eventually they plan to do bar foods as well. I know I will return here, I hope it's for a festive event( Xmas lights or pumpkin activities) but even if it's just to enjoy an ice cream in a rustic environment, I will bask in the feeling that this simple act has been enjoyed and will be enjoyed by many others. read more

The Christmas light display is fantastic. The drive in had top notch lights and displays and all of it was themed. One area was the 12 days of Christmas and another had a farming theme. There was landmarks from around the world and cartoon characters and trees with red and white lights to look like candy canes. The market had a decent selection but I didn't buy anything. Candy Cane Lane was a free walk through. It's a small area that wraps around itself. There's a bridge and two light tunnels. The lights blinked to Christmas music. read more

This review is specifically about the drive-thru Holiday Light show. It was my first and last time seeing the light show. $40 for online tickets and $50 for in-person tickets per car is ridiculous. It's upsetting to think how much Shady Brook is probably profiting from this, especially while being in a pandemic and during the holiday season. It doesn't help that some of the lights were advertisements either. Prior to going, I read a lot of reviews saying that there was a long line to get in so I was a bit worried about that. I had tickets for 9 pm on a Sunday and luckily, there was no line to get in. However, I stopped at Wawa beforehand and passed by Shady Brook a little before 8:30 pm and the line was down the street. line. It took about 20-22 minutes to drive through the 2 mile light show which was shorter than I expected. We went with the flow of traffic but since there was no line to get in, I felt like everyone was driving too fast. I enjoyed the light show but it's not worth the price. read more

Peach picking is on their calendar but, when you show up, you find out that all peaches were destroyed by the frost and they are just not good this year. That's ok but why advertise it on the website? They clearly knew about it for quit some time. We showed up and waited in a long line not knowing about it so my daughter was upset and we went to pick sunflowers. I might be wrong but I think it was done on purpose. read more

Every year I look forward to this place being a big part of my seasonal festivities with my family and never had a bad experience. However, today 10/21/22 around 12:15pm I arrived at the farm with my family, first stop being the giant air-filled pillow. By the time my children actually got on the pillow it was roughly 12:30pm. Not a bad wait but for toddlers it might seem even longer. Upon getting my two kids on the giant jump pillow, the women working it was screaming at every kid they needed to jump in the middle and pointing out each kid that wasn't jumping the correct way or yelling at them if they were sliding down on the sides. However she felt the need to keep yelling at my toddler (3years old) about how he's jumping incorrectly and even gave him "warnings" to jump in the middle or else he was "OUT" she says I continued to try and direct my child to jump in the center the was she was trying to direct them however my son again slide down the side and she screamed at him "I gave you warnings now your OUT!" I immediately told her he's not getting out and he's three! I then asked her how does she know he even knows that shes talking to him? Or how does she know he can even hear her!? She began to yell rules are rules and if we don't like it we can leave! I began to tell her he actually has special needs and most likely doesn't even know she's talking to him because she's just yelling out loud in an open space with tons of stimulation going on around him! She then says how am I supposed to know he has special needs!? Was it her business to know that my child had special needs!? No! Did I have to disclose that to her, absolutely NO! If she can't stand working in an area with children and high stimulation maybe she should be working in the beer garden read more

Had the best time. Took my 3 year old away for the weekend and stopped at the farm before our final destination for some fall fun. There is so much for the kids to do from multiple playgrounds and animals, a giant bounce mat, tractor ride to apple picking and sunflower fields. There is plenty of food and the giant tube slide. There is a haunted house (didn't go in there) and an alien invasion house (not so scary) for everyone. We did so much there wasn't even time to get to a pumpkin and we spent 7 hours there. After 5 pm there was a live band and you can buy drinks from the outdoor bar any time of day! I cant say enough how much we enjoyed Shady Brook Farm. I will be making the 3 hour trip to enjoy this wonderful place (where everything is included with your admission) again. read more

Last night I went to the horror fest they have in October, and with a canned food donation we were able to go into 4 haunted attractions for $25 per person. The decorations and whatnot were pretty cool, but I do wish they would have leaned less on the "jump scare" tactic and just let the creepy sound effects and ambiance do the work. It got a little old since attraction after attraction had people jumping out at you or making loud noises every minute or so. I'm very easily startled so I genuinely just really hate jump scares. Yeah, yeah, I know...this probably wasn't the event for me. Other than all that they had live music, fire pits, and lots of food stands. They also had a little midway games area and some goats you can feed. Overall it was a pretty fun night. The farm itself also has a cool looking farm store and a bar and restaurant. read more

REAL pumpkin patch picking straight off the vine. $5 for the cool hayride out to the patch and also can do Apple picking if you want.
