First time experience of picking my old strawberries, I enjoyed it. It's fun. Can't wait to do it again.

Strawberry picking!

We love strawberry picking at specca as well as their farm stand on the 206. They have the best produce for great prices. We've gone the last 3 years for strawberry picking and it's so fun! Follow their Facebook page in springtime to find out when to come pick your own!

April 12th 2025 We drove from Lebanon, CT to pick up 30+ blueberry plants and blackberry plants today. We choose him over the other place in town, simply, a better vibe on the phone, we called ahead. 4 Hour Drive! WORTH IT! Phone call a week before, ready to answer questions, no need to make a reservation, "Just call me a 1/2 hour out" Bill said. Professional advice etc! Today, I was expecting to pick up plants, talk a little and head home. Not only answered all of our questions, asked what we were doing, our plans etc, full tour of everything, met his mom, , talked to one of his sons, showed us around, gave tips, his employees were awesome and knowledgeable. This IS his passion. For or some it is a job, for him he absolutely loves what he does! No minimums, extremely gracious, kind. Bill, if you see this, THANK YOU SO MUCH. We will send pics when we get them planted! I rarely do reviews, this one though, Blueberry Bill is one I needed to do.

I used our beach buckets instead of the provided ones since they were smaller and easier for the kids. There were rows and rows of fresh, plump, and sweet blueberries. We had a lot of fun collecting them, and sampling the staff under the tent was friendly and welcoming. Tons of parking and not crowded. I messed up and didn't bring enough cash, this is a cash only set up. Luckily there was a Wawa near by and my husband hit the ATM and grabbed us lunch. I would definitely come back to Bills.

We went on a Tuesday morning, and from the moment we pulled in, it was a great experience. When you arrive, they ask how many bags you want, give you big plastic bags, and then you're off to pick your own produce. We decided to pick collard greens, turnip greens, mustard greens, sweet potatoes, and a few peppers. Some items were out of season, so we bought those inside the market instead. Inside, we grabbed garlic, tomatoes, scallions, apples, onions, and a bottle of peach cider which I highly recommend! Everything was fresh and flavorful. The workers were all friendly, helpful, and welcoming. You can drive around the farm, park your car to the side, and pick whatever you need. When you're done, you stop at the booth, unload your items to be weighed, and pay there. They accept both cash and all major credit cards. A few tips: wear old clothes and shoes, and definitely don't get your car washed before going because everything gets dusty! I also saw a few people using scissors or knives to cut their vegetables, which is a smart idea, though we picked ours by hand. After getting home, cleaning everything, and cooking up the greens for dinner, I have to say they were the best greens I've ever had in my life. Farm-to-table food truly hits different. The prices were very fair and much cheaper than the supermarket & the quality was unbeatable. I highly recommend visiting this farm for some fresh, nutritious produce to feed your family.

There is a tractor pulling a wagon you can jump on to be transported to the back of the farm and work your way back to the entrance. The blueberries are gorgeous and plump; the bushes are so laden with berries that some of them actually are bent by the weight of the blueberries. The farm also sells blueberry jams and syrups, which I thought was a nice touch. I would have loved some blueberry ice cream to cool down with, but I did pick up a small jar of blueberry mustard ($6) that I'm really excited to try out. There is a small picnicking area but I would not recommend eating there because that is where the tractor loads and unloads visitors so there's a lot of dust.

They give you a little bucket which you can tie around your waist to pick the blueberries and a big bucket to dump them into. The blueberries are 2.50 per pound to pick them. when you're ready to check out, there is also blueberry, honey ,blueberry toppings, blueberry pie, and jams. This will definitely be a tradition!
