The stroke happened Feb 13 2026 and after he spent 3 weeks in the ICU, he was stabilized and moved to Bethel to continue his mental, physical and speech rehabilitation. My dad was a very energetic, loving strong man prior to the stroke. He was recovering. He was regaining the speech, his sight and some mobility that was lost. At Bethel, there were several issues that arose regarding his care and we were assured by the staff that he was being well taken care of but we continued to see very concerning issues. There are 7 of us. And our spouses and our mom. Some of the concerns were that his PEG tube wasn't secure allowing him to grab it or touch the wound with unclean hands. Hands that were unclean due to the diarrhea he was sitting in for an uncomfortably long time. This diarrhea was caused by an antibiotic he couldn't tolerate. And the diareaa was highly acidic. You can imagine where I'm going with this. He developed an infection in his abdomen, and he quickly went down hill. There was no significant increase in his fluid intake, even though he was experiencing extreme fluid loss. He suffered a heart attack due to high potassium levels from severe dehydration and ultimately this ended his life. Please think very carefully before you choose to bring your loved one here for care.

But it is beyond blood boiling when they are treated as a dollar sign instead of a human being, and that is exactly what happened here. I read the reviews of this place, it seems the owner can respond to positive messages however ignores the ones that they have hurt and disappointed. My grandfather was treated unfairly, was looked at as "giving them a hard time" because he was depressed. These people are not giving you a hard time, they are having a hard time. Administration here was just absolutely disappointing. Front desk was disappointing. As someone who works at a healthcare facility, I've seen first hand how the drivers treat the ones they transport and it's heartbreaking. This place will be good to those who are bringing a dollar to their pocket. They will disrespect those who choose to leave due to their lack of compassion. I've never in my life hoped more than now that a nursing home would change my view on how I've always heard them to be, but all this place did was prove me right. It's about money, it's about the revolving door of income. Not properly caring for those who need it. (Those who read this, yes my grandfather was able to pay. He chose not to because of their scheme. When it came time to leave, they disrespected my family and lacked any sort of compassion for his situation.)
