Wish we could have seen them in bloom. 5. Can order nicely prepared meals to room or eat in library lounge - breakfast or dinner. Def an old southern feel to the place. Cons: 1. Parking was tight and hard to to manuever but they did have a cart available for rooms that are further away - partially broken. 2. In downtown area, kind of dingy and run down - but somewhat charming w many old craftsman homes around. 3. Could have used some hanging baskets and annuals for more color and charm - would help brighten the mood of the run down area of town - 4. And wish theyd answer the phones. We left messages almost everytime we called (they were good about calling back). This leaves one feeling disconnected from a warm hospitable experience.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by both Courtney & Ed Lewis at the counter. They were both so hospitable and welcoming. The check-in process was easy and straightforward. I was assigned room #602, located on the 6th floor. Ed finally informed me about the pertinent details of the hotel stay. This hotel was beyond incredible from start to finish. I have nothing but a lot of positive notes to share. PROS: * Complimentary breakfast AND Dinner * Top-Shelf Happy Hour daily from 5:30 - 7:30 PM - complimentary alcoholic drinks (up to 3 per day). The bartender, Tanisha, was beyond sweet and served up amazing drinks! * Beautiful view from the 6th floor * The room was clean and located close to the floor's elevator * Great amenities - A/C, fridge, TV, microwave, and more! * Complimentary parking - spaces were plentiful * Convenient location - a variety of stores & restaurants nearby; right off the freeway * Affordability of the room rate What stood out to me the most was the inclusion of the complimentary dinner. I was beyond impressed, as this is something that's not usually offered at most hotels. For dinner on Wednesday night, I tried the Grilled Chicken, Macaroni & Cheese, and Vegetable Soup. On Thursday night, I had the Meatballs in Brown Gravy, Garlic Red Mashed Potatoes, and Gumbo. The taste of the food from both nights was not too shabby and very doable. We were able to put up all of our own decorations. There's a full kitchen inside, a large "living room" area, and a large portion of a lot of tables and chairs. I like the fact that there's a "bar" area off the kitchen which is an open space into the "living room." We were able to set all of the food items out on the "bar" area. We also had full, exclusive use of the pool. My daughter had both women and men at her baby shower and a lot of them brought their children. There were also some teenage relatives there. They were all able to enjoy the pool area while we were inside opening gifts and talking. In addition to have a bathroom area inside, there are also two restrooms outside by the pool area. In the outside bathrooms, they have rubber mats down on the tile floor so you won't fall because of the pool water from people getting in and out. There's even a water fountain outside that actually provides cold water. There's a good number of parking spots available; however, if you are having a very large event, it's also fine to just parallel park along the street.
