We needed an overnight spot as we were traveling and stopped here. It's right off the highway, so we didn't have to go out of the way. It was an adorable place to stay. We have a 45' coach and Melanie was so nice! She had a pull-through with a view of the lake. She met us when we arrived and had us follow her for a perfect way to enter the space. She even guided us in and told us when to stop. Melanie was the perfect hostess and the spot was beautiful. I actually wanted to stay longer but, we had another reservation. I recommend Wendy Oaks for a nice stay. read more

I have been here a week now. Totally love the relaxed atmosphere. Don't believe the negative reviews. There's nothing sketchy about this serene place. There are a few longer term residents but each one is delightful and friendly. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway, this is it. There is highway noise. But honestly, the birds and ducks and water lapping up on the bank of the lake overpower that for me. The other reviews made me a little anxious and it was totally unnecessary. Someone mentioned an old man and his big dog. That old man helped loaned me his phone this morning when I locked myself out of my camper at 5:45 AM.... and bent over backwards to help me. I'm a single woman. I've walked the whole place at night and early mornings. It's very safe. Bring your kids with confidence. Come alone with confidence. Wendy Oaks is a great RV spot!! read more

First off Melanie was amazing! Her energy and hospitality was like nothing we've ever experienced at an RV park! So happy to be serving us, The showers were not, bathroom clean Light runs out on the timer a little fast but that's nothing. The View from the spot on the lake was amazing! We reserved a night at Wendy Oaks on our trip. Beautiful trees and a peaceful small lake set the calming tone for our evening. We were met as soon as we pulled in and were shown directly to our site. A better spot had come available, so it was presented to us. The management was friendly and helpful with all we needed, from wifi to firewood. We would stay here again and recommend this RV resort. :) read more

Such a nice Rv park! We were traveling through on way home. Needed a place to pull in for the night! It was right on our way to stop! Very convenient, very peaceful! Well I was surely glad this place exists cuz there are not a lot of options in the area. There looks like a lot of permanent residents here. There is a very nice lake on the property not that you could swim in it. The showers sucked. There is not a lot of privacy. There are 2 or 3 shower stalls along with a couple of toilets in 1 room. The stalls were installed WAY to high. Bend over a little & you can see your naked neighboor taking a shower or using the toliet. Pretty sure the stalls just barely cover an ass. Unless your short then it wouldn't. The room was ice cold too. Normally a good thing sure but maybe not so much if your showering. Also the place needs numbers. Please, number your slots. I'm glad we arrived before dark. read more

If you're just passing through, this place is okay, but don't plan on a good night's sleep. The train tracks are close and you hear one every fee hours combined with the park being right off the highway it's secluded, but not quiet. This park is occupied by what appeared to be 80-90% full time residents that had been there for a year or more. Dogs are outside dogs in pens. The site is pea graveled but level, newer shower/laundry building was decent. It was convenient, but the road noise and trains didn't make for a good sleep. Staff is friendly but the residents seem to watch you with curiosity. The park has it's own lake with ducks waddling throughout the campground. read more

Check in was easy. They do not have online reservations. They do not take credit cards. The campground has about 40 sites with full hookup including sewer. The bath house is clean. My complaints are: the site did not have a fire ring, or grill. There were several large fire ant mounds on the site. The grass was in need of cutting. WiFi didn't work, or kept cutting out. There is enough space between sites, and most are shady. The location is right off US 49, and is noticeably noisy if sitting outside. Otherwise, pretty quiet. I would stay here again, preferably site 8. read more

I can't say enough good things about this darling place!!! Polite owner who booked our night, incredible views, laundry facility, a trash can per camp site, bonfire pits and the most serene lake view my eyes have seen in this trip south. Come stay here. You'll love it! read more

Large level sites, beautiful fishing pond with free paddle boat use. Several permanent residents , friendly and helpful. We had a fire in the large fire pit and the owner came over and asked if we needed more wood, she then brought some over--free. Restrooms and laundry were closed due to COVID so cannot rate. Melanie is the new owner of the campground and is great. She is very friendly and helpful, even giving us her cell phone number. There is plenty of shade and an 8 acre lake that Melanie stocks with Bass, Bream and Catfish. I didn't get a chance to do any fishing this time but we will be back. We have family in the area and the campground is very conveniently located for us. Due to Covid the bath house was closed so we can't comment on it. Below is a description of the campground from their Google webpage. Wendy Oaks RV Resort is a small quaint campground with 37 RV sites (16 pull-throughs). Cute little spot for an over night stay. Previous reviews say it looks trashy/sketchy but I didn't get that vibe. Small, quaint, quiet. I can't hear the traffic or trains unless I have my camper completely silent. The lake is small and pretty and there's cute ducks meandering about. Melanie was the sweetest to work with and she seems very genuine. There's around 30ish spot and some are permanent residents. Stone pull throughs. Full hook ups. We booked with a credit card and they have online booking available, too. Wifi is available- didn't use it though so can't comment on it. They don't discriminate on the age of your camper. They have a paddle boat for park use and free fishing because it's a private lake. I couldn't imagine spending more than a few nights here as it's just the small lake and not much else in the area, but it was a great spot for us to break up our trip. While not a destination location, it was a very good spot for an overnight stay. Our spot was a pull thru, and it seems like most of them were. The bath house was extremely clean. There seems to be a number of "full time" residence here, but the entire facility was tidy. If I needed another overnight spot in the Jackson, MS area, I would certainly stay again. read more

We stayed at Wendy Oaks for one night while traveling to Louisiana. This place is adorable! We arrived at night and weren't sure about it since we could not see much. In the morning, as the sun was rising over the lake we were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the park really was. The ducks waddling around the park were so cute, even our dogs thought so. Melanie, the owner, easily booked our reservation last minute over the phone using a credit card. She was very friendly and helpful. She even texted me everything I needed to know since we would be arriving late. The pull through site was nice and level with full hookups. No problem with Wi-Fi. The sound of traffic did not bother us and we were parked in spot #15 right by the entrance from the highway. Had to do a U-turn to enter the park but it was not difficult. Our site was spacious. We did not use the shower, bathrooms, or laundry since only here for one night. Clean, seemed safe, and I would highly recommend!! read more

I don' t know if this is under new management but we had a wonderful experience here. We did not use the showers so I couldn't speak to that. But for an overnight stay we just drove onto a very large pull through level spot. Seem to be some permanent residents which is normally a big turn off for me. But I found that all of the spots seemed tidy. Great Wi-Fi. Melanie even gave us her cell phone number. Our brand new tires had not been inflated to the right amount. Melanie got an air compressor for us and help to get them inflated appropriately. read more

Awful place to stay! The campground is really trashy. My husband checked in because we only had to stay overnight. The trash can at our site was real trashy and then when we left out the next morning we had to take out trash to a dump at the very end of the camp. WHICH WAS A LONG WALK!! the park owner is rude. We only stopped for the night but the bathrooms looked very clean and the campground kept nicely. It was a good value and the staff was very nice. Only flaw is that it's by the highway so you can hear when a semi drives by, even with ear plugs in. read more
