If you didn't know children on the spectrum have one of the highest percentages of drowning cases. My children happen to both be on the spectrum because swimming fills a lot of sensory needs, she is so patient with them. Well, by recommendation, I found Ms. Shae. The first day we showed up to swim, I wore my bathing suit, thinking I would have to get in. My son saw Ms. Shae, let go of my hand, and he's been learning from her since. Out of all my son's teachers and therapist, Ms.Shae is who we value most. Everything went well ! Ms. Shae is the kindest human ever ! She is patient and kind ! My baby girl cried the entire first session because she is a spoiled brat and Ms. Shae was the absolute best and worked through it the entire session ! I was impressed! After the first session she absolutely fell in love with Ms. Shae because of her soft tone, patience and the way she teaches her lessons ! She is respectful and after each session we get to see everything our baby learned during the session ! I regret to say that my experience with Mrs.Shae as my child's swim instructor was disappointing. Throughout the season, communication went well until the end, particularly regarding class policies in which you will never get a copy of and sign. Instead of working together to find a solution, I was met with rude and emotionally unintelligent behavior. This was due to her making me aware that today was a bad day because of her grandmother's death anniversary that I showed deep empathy for. But nevertheless what does this have to do with how you deal with clients in regard to business? She had me questioning how all day long of how I could have handled her because of the empathy she put on me instead of being solution driven by what she could have done for my situation. She mentioned to me on multiple occasions on how she has over 200 clients as if she didn't appreciate our dedication to her. It's evident that this girl has dealt with some real trauma and issues and instead of maybe getting some help she lashed out at me for her own personal triggers. She used the words unsafe and uncomfortable to justify her talking over me, getting loud, insulting my intelligence, and being unprofessional. At the end of the swim season, the situation escalated when I was unfairly insulted on a personal level, which was both hurtful and unprofessional. While I understand the importance of adhering to policies, the lack of respect and empathy in handling the situation was unacceptable. I hope that Mrs.Shae takes this feedback seriously and makes improvements in communication and professionalism moving forward. If this is someone that you are considering I would say go with your other options. read more

I can't say enough positive things about Shae's Swim School! Starting off on the first day I was beyond terrified, this was the first time my two year old would be doing something "without" Mama (even though I was just a few feet away). I was nervous for me, for my daughter, and for the coach. Needless to say I walk into Shae's backyard and all my worries melt away. My daughter is fascinated with all the toys, snacks, beautiful warm pool, fun music, and runs to the energetic women awaiting us. My daughter never leaves my side and went right into the water with Coach Cynthia, only ever looking back to say, "Mama, watch this!" I shed my first tear within minutes of her first lesson. To see someone love my daughter and truly care about teaching her, building her confidence and cheer her on reassured that I made the right choice is choosing Shae's Swim School. My daughter has a love for water, she is fearless and that is what made me fearful. Shae has built a phenomenal program that I can physically see come to life weekly. Every lesson my daughter excelled, learned new skills, and beamed with confidence during show time. The lessons are truly tailored to each child. Within weeks my daughter was able to jump into pools, find the edge and follow it to a step, float on her back and tread water in not just the pools she was familiar with but every pool we visited this summer. Coach Cynthia has become part of our family, my daughter pretends to be her and giving my family and her friends (who are much older) swim lessons. There is no love than that, of a now three year old pretending to be you, even in the bath. Coach Cynthia was patient on my daughter's harder days, and pushed her to show her it's okay to do hard things. Not only will Shae text you a reminder of your upcoming class, she actually checks in when your little one is sick, offers make up classes, and worked around all my summer vacations. They provide snacks, drinks, sunscreen, misters and even games for those of you waiting while your child swims. If you forgot something, no worries Shae has all the things to make it a great day. As the colder weather creeps in we are sad the season is coming to a close but can't wait to see what the spring will bring and are impatiently waiting for our next summer program. My fears have melted away, knowing my daughter has the skills to swim safely and that is thanks to Coach Shae and Coach Cynthia. You can tell these wonderful ladies have a passion for what they do, they have truly changed my daughter and my life forever! read more
