Registered online. Membership was $80 bucks and stated "enjoy everything that the Y has to offer". I thought this included classes. It does not. I signed my boy (9) up for basketball and kabuto. kabuto did not state that that there were any prerequisites to the class. I paid the $45 for basketball and $60 for Kabuto. The first basketball game was Halloween night. We got a call 5 until class started to cancel. I told them no because I was there already. He was the only kid. While there, I asked about Kabuto and was told that he had to be enrolled in Karate before he could take Kabuto. Bummer. I did get the $60 back for it but the kid was super bummed. It should be clear online for sign up. Next basketball day, I sat inside waiting for his time to be over. The inside staff sat around talking about dreams. A male black staff was discussing with two black female staff about his girl's dream. In the dream, his girl said he cheated on her with a white girl. The staff went on to make a big deal about why he would never be with a white girl. The three of them went on to discuss how gross that would be for some time. I was the only Caucasian in there apart from my son. Abysmal behavior. The following week, he had a substitute trainer. My son came in from basketball several times during class stating that the coach was taking a break and that she wanted to "sit down for a while". The class is from 6:00pm until 6:50pm. The class ended that night at 42 after 6. When I asked what happened, the trainer rudely told me that it was written down to end at 6:45pm and she's "done". She was more than rude the entire time. My son said she didn't even talk to him in class. There were only two kids. We skipped the last week all together and I cancelled my membership today. It's entirely too expensive, staff are unprofessional and rude. I'm super bummed and expected more. read more

Apparently the staff thinks that they're my child's mother. I am the first person to admit if my child is doing something wrong I'm not a dismissive parent. So when my child was doing something wrong before I could even open my mouth a staff stepped in front of me to correct my child. I was a member with a 7 month membership when they closed for Covid. They reopened at some future time and even though they had our email addresses and phone numbers no one informed me. Then when they reopened again no one informed us. I had medical issues that kept me from visiting until this year. i expected them to either extend me membership for the months I lost or tefund my fees. They did neither. I talked to the membership durector and executive director and I guess they think the best bet is to ignore me, so this is my response. read more

Honestly love it here overall, except please please please have better hours! We both work at 7am during the week so there's no way we can go to the gym in the morning when you open at 6. Please open at 5! And Saturday Sunday would be nice to open earlier as well...some people like to get an early workout in to kickoff their weekend days too (when you have kids, at 9am half the day is already over by the time it opens sundays!) The facilities at this YMCA are excellent, but the young man working at the desk the day I showed up needs some additional training. He wasn't very sure of the programs that the YMCA offered, also I told him I came to use the pool, he literally buzzed me in to the pool area, I got totally changed to enter the pool and it was closed. He was very nice, but not very competent. read more

While I was visiting in Las Vegas Nevada. I am a member of the YMCA, Memphis Tennessee. But while I am on vacation. I love to find the Y that I can be able to take our membership in and use. Which is important. Never the less this one was a beautiful YMCA...the scenery while you are on the treadmills is breathtaking, the front staff is very nice, very friendly and very welcoming. I am so happy that I found this YMCA! My next visit to Vegas would definitely include this YMCA. read more

Not a huge fan of this place. They're always giving me the runaround. I've been patient long enough. I tried getting my child involved on the Friday teen night and I got the runaround, front desk NEVER knows anything! Tried to sign my child up for Train to Work and of course, NOTHING!! Went to the location and per usual , front desk didn't know anything, told me to email Nayeli Martinez, I did...all she responded with was "Classes start in June" come June, I email her again to get more information on how to register, dates and times of classes and NOTHING!! I'm over this location!! I definitely will be canceling my membership. read more

I being wanting to go and prices on classes. I was finally able to stop by, but when I walked in, two ladies were talking, and the one was on the phone. I was trying to get someone's attention. Finally, one of them turn around and greet us and she gave us a tour of the place. First impressions are very important, but the young lady was very nice while giving us the tour. She gave us the membership prices and prices of some of the individual classes. She change my first impression. read more

Trash. Don't come here to speak with staff for anything. 20 minutes in the lobby for the front desk staff to tell me hold on while I ask a coworker. Witness staff pick up a walkie talkie and call for coworker then say that won't work the other walkie is sitting here next to me. Then proceeded to wait while staff took care of any incoming phone calls and never assisting the person standing in front of them. After 20 minutes I walked out. Save your time and go anywhere else or to any other Ymca location. This location is unhelpful and could care less if you use the facility or not. read more

My family of 6 has been members her for almost two years. The family membership is very reasonable and includes free childcare. My little kids (ages 2-6) love going to "Kids Gym" and the childcare staff are wonderful. The hours are definitely geared more towards families as it closes rather early 8pm. They membership includes all the general fitness classes and a few free kids fitness classes for ages 5-12. My son really likes the Kids Catch classes on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Swimming lessons, martial arts and dance are available for kids for additional cost. As a non-profit the YMCA offers scholarships for those in need for both memberships and classes. I think they also offer military discounts. Membership at this Y also gives you full access to the other YMCAs in town. The facility is actually owned by the City of North Las Vegas but due to funding they lease it to the YMCA to operate. There is only an indoor swimming pool and the only showers are in the pool changing rooms. The facility is always very clean, is only a few years old and well maintained. The non-judgmental family atmosphere is probably my favorite aspect of the YMCA. There are people of all shapes, sizes and abilities that take the classes so it is great if you are just starting out and worried about working out or taking a class. The personal trainers (Kat is awesome!) are also great and very affordable. I've lost 70lbs in the last year and the Y has been a big part of that. I highly recommend Zumba on Tuesdays and Thursdays with Christina. Kat also offers a boot camp in the mornings that is open to the public for a fee. Overall a great affordable, family friendly gym with a focus on helping the community become healthier! read more

I love the Y here with the gym on the Treadmills there is a great View of the Sheep Mountains. The gym is also baby friendly with a great Daycare Staff! Not to mention all the extra fitness events and classes that they offer. My only complaint is one for my own- I like workin out at night and they close and open at all different times.. So scheduling around there schedules is a bit stressing- other than that its a great rate and a great workout!! read more

Great zumba classes! But not enough time for members to go in for rec swim! Cant use the bathroom when daycare is on!

I often use the gym, so the sanitary wipes are pretty important. Staff should do a better job of making sure the sanitary wipes are stocked at all times. Also there was an issue with me being on my cell phone while on the elliptical. I was on a phone call for 2 1/2 minutes. Mary walked up to me and said. "no being on the phone while using the equipment." She said this as she walked past two other people, who were on FaceTime phone calls. Others were looking through their phones finding their favorite shows to watch and browsing their playlist for tunes. I did not understand why she only approached me and loudly said that I should not be on my phone while using the machine. I was on an important phone call, and her comment could've waited. I did not want to stop my work out as it is already hard enough for me to get up every morning just to go to the gym let alone lose my momentum. I approached Mary after my work out and told her I did not see any "no cell phone" signs posted in the gym. She pointed out that the signs were near the weights. This place is open 6 am to 8 pm however they have no classes in the afternoon to accommodate those that need to work different shifts. I'm talking 1 in the afternoon. You charge 30$ to $40 for what? Will never recommend YMCA. read more

I love the staff at Skyview. They are so personable and welcoming. The staff definitely work hard to make this YMCA feel like a community center, not just a gym. The workout areas are always clean and the machines are well maintained. Also, my son is enrolled in preschool and he loves going to class. My daughter has been in swim camp and on the swim team for almost 2 years. She absolutely loves to swim, especially because of her fantastic swim coach Francesca. She's such a great role model and a wonderful young lady. Kaylee really looks up to her and her sister Isabella. They've both done such a great job setting up and running the swim team. The cost of the Ymca is alot higher than most gyms and your not getting to use good quality equipment especially at this particular YMCA. This particular facility has reach new lows and is now more of a day care for low income and no income families. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

My 11 year old daughter and I went here to swim yesterday, we checked in at 1:05 and at 1:58 we were asked to get out of the pool. The staffed informed us they weren't sure when we were able to get back in because a birthday party was arriving. When we checked in the staff failed to mentioned there was going to be a birthday party. When they finally let people back in the pool they roped off a small section, for us to swim which was way to crowded. I paid 15 dollars to swim less then an hour. I will not be going back here, plenty of pools that are way cheaper and with better service. My 11 year old was so disappointed she woke up early to do her chores to go swimming. We sure didn't get our moneys worth. I would actually give this place a 1 Star. read more

Very disappointed with the professionalism of the staff and handling the summer camp applications. Was told 3 different stories by 3 different employees. Not once I was told by Natalie that there was a waiting list. It took almos2 weeks before they even got back to me after making several calls 7/2/2018 update to my review.
