So, I was doing something I probably should not be doing at my age anymore (or at the very least,…read morebeing a lot more cautious, LOL!!). Went sledding with kiddos over the last winter break. My elbow must have hit a rock or something else jutting out of the snow on the way down one of the runs. Fast forward to almost four months later and I'm still having pain! I start thinking, maybe I should get this checked out and make sure I don't have a fracture or something. I've never seen an orthopedic doctor in my life--so wasn't sure what to expect. I saw another doctor in this office (Dr. Bouz). He is a straight shooter kind of guy (which is fine with me). The office has the ability to do Xrays internally so there is no need to wait to get them done or for results. The technician who took the pictures for me was a joyful person who I could tell really loves his job. The receptionist was super helpful, patient, and kind from the time of booking the appointment until I left. All around great office visit where I got the answers I needed and in a very efficient manner. I hope to not have to come to this office again for any reason, but if I do, it's nice to know there is a solid choice so nearby. :-)

I thought this doc was a bit rude. Making me cry in the office is pretty much the qualifier for…read morerudeness. I was trying to tell him what happened to me in two accidents and which body parts were hurt in those accidents. That's how insurance companies think - per event and which body parts were involved in the date of injury. He kept wanting to go over it by body part. I sort of get that, but come ON! Try listening when a patient is taking to you. "OK, What happened that day? What body parts were hurt? were any hurt on both days?" Any moron should get it. But that's the problem with orthopedic surgeons, they all have a god complex. They want to cut and sew you back together so they can congratulate themselves on their handiwork. I walked out and went back to my general practitioner. That was a probably a mistake on some levels. I might have been able to get MRIs and cortisone shots sooner. I can't help but think that good bedside manner is important. "Ma'am, I can see you're upset. Do your best to tell me what happened so I can treat you." Unfortunately, social skills are often an afterthought rather than millions they are going to make as doctors. My grandfather was a family practitioner and he was nice to everyone. He saved people's lives. And if you couldn't pay, he would treat you anyway. Those days are over.

I just came today after a referral from my car accident. The office is pretty old and run down and…read morenormally I would ignore that if the service was good. But, the front office staff was really unprofessional and some older lady who worked up front said really loudly when I walked in, "Oh she must be here for workers comp! (Grunted) Tell her we don't do that here (which they do)." I felt that was somewhat inappropriate and discriminatory. They also were very confused and didn't have any appointments on record. There was one nice younger lady that tried to help me somewhat. And even though she lacked professionalism also, at least she tried to see if there was an appointment. All in all, I told them never mind and I'll ask for a different referral.l elsewhere. This review is not about the service because I never got to have it, but there needs to be training on professionalism for the front office staff. Especially for folks who are coming in with pain. Please do better.

The doctors and assistants are wonderful. I am thankful to them, for their attention to the care that I needed, plus I'm appreciative of their knowledge. The doctors took their time with me to ask questions and asked what my concerns were about my health issues. Thank you Pain Management Care for treating me as an individual and helping me with the limitations.

I came in to go over my options after injuring my right knee in a fall a few years ago. The injury…read morecaused a meniscus tear, and I haven't been able to fully straighten my knee since then. However, I had limited knee pain and no difficulty walking; the main issue was painful compensation on my left side. He outlined several treatment options, but the conversation seemed to focus on dismissing alternatives in favor of a total knee replacement which felt far too aggressive at this stage. It came across more like a sales pitch than a recommendation based on my best interests. There is no patient portal, nothing digitized, no texts, nothing. I personally find these features immensely helpful in understanding and organizing my ongoing treatment. Seems outdated since I don't think I have any providers without a portal these days. The few pages of pre-surgery information they sent me by mail seemed painfully inadequate. When I made the initial appt, they told me they accept Blue Shield PPO, but when I looked at the claim in the BS portal yesterday I noticed they were out of network. When I called to ask about it, I was told I should have asked or looked into it on my own, but I very rarely ever run into providers who aren't in network so I didn't think of it. So I guess that's on me. Maybe I'm being picky, but I feel that is a point worth mentioning especially when considering the huge expense of major surgery. Some of the portals that I mentioned above also let you know your insurance summary *before* the appt. To be fair, he was easy to talk to, listened to my concerns, and did not rush through the appointment. Clearly he has helped a lot of people so he's doing something right. But after considering all of the above, I decided not to move forward with the surgery.
