He patiently put me at ease by asking questions about my pain, my life, and my family being sincerely interested in me as an individual. I owe my life to Dr. Iyengar. He has guided me through extremely aggressive courses of Chemotherapy, 16 rounds of Radiation, a DVT, Sepsis -- twice -- along with a myriad of ailments throughout the years. Dr. Iyengar has always sought the best treatments available, as-well-as providers of those treatments. His delicate management of my pain medication has enabled me to have a much higher quality of life than otherwise possible. Unfortunately he has had to repeatedly fight with my insurance company to advocate my treatment which is beyond stressful and unhealthy in itself. An entire generation of baby boomers should not have to fight so hard to stay out of pain. Dedicated physicians should not have to spend countless hours defending their treatment plans to inferiorly educated insurance company employees who must follow rules designed to make money for their company -- not caring about the pain and anguish of the very people who pay hundreds of dollars a month for coverage.

Like many people, I have the joy of...ALLERGIES! woohoo! Not, it's much more like kill myself…read more After sufferring a lot after we moved, I found Dr. Yurkofsky. And boy am I glad!! He met with me twice before we decided to do some allergy tests (I'd had them done as a kid so he just wanted to check). He made me sit down and basically tell him my life story, which he wrote down, and remembered the whole time I was seeing him! He wanted to know everything - where I sat at work, my pillows on my bed, every kind of plant around the house, etc. It took a long time, but it was well worth the effort. Few doctors will take the kind of time and effort that Dr. Yurkofsky did to try to resolve my allergy problems. After a series of tests and lots and lots of talks, we decided (yes, we) to stick with Allegra and eye drops if it got bad, and he gave me tips on how to fix up my room to make it less dusty (I am officially allergic to dust, ragweed, and some other pollen...you know, things I can easily avoid...NOT). He didn't try to shove allergy products down my throat, either, he recommended cutting up some air conditioner filters and putting them in my vents, and then seeing if I needed to get a mattress cover or get rid of my down comforter. Basically, Dr. Yurkofsky really listened to me, and wanted me involved in all the decisions, and minimized shoving pills and products down my throat, unlike other allergists I have been to. Rock. You need a good allergist? This is your man. Just be prepared to invest the amount of time he is going to in order to resolve your issues. It's well worth it, trust.

Yes Dr. Yurkofsky is not only a brilliant clinician but also a great guy. He has more common sense…read morethen many doctors I have met -- he was trained in Switzerland and speaks French! He is a good listener and always asks how you are. If I am good and get my allergy shots like I am supposed to I feel great. He always has good common sense non drug solutions to most problems. He never throws medication at you. However he does know all the medications. I rely on him a lot. He does like to give you his solutions for allergies i.e. mattress covers, air filters, washing the cat LOL. He even helped me out with sinus and other problems I was having. He really is a life saver and thats why he has been my allergist for so many years. I can only say that he is probably the best allergist in the city. If he cant help you you will have to go to another city or planet. I was trained as a scientist and so I have a lot of respect for his clinical knowledge and ability to separate the truth from medical BS. If you need an allergist he is really the only one to go to. !!!!!

He is very understanding, his staff is unsurpassed in keeping this running smoothly. I have yet to see crowds of people who are ill sitting around waiting. Appointments are made and kept on time. I have yet to experience a better medical care facility.
