She made me pay cash for the medicine I was supposed to use before the procedure after I decided not to ever go back I showed it to the GI specialist in San Clemente she reported the other doctor to Blue Shield & told me to get the correct medicine from CVS. Things started out well with Dr. Rah, she was nice and courteous. However after getting a series of exams, she went on sabbatical without communicating the results of the tests, prescribing a treatment, or even offering a referral. Neither her nor her staff return calls or emails to provide any information. Eventually, medical records were provided directly to my Life Insurance company with a diagnosis that they never even conveyed to me! Dr. Rah's office is unorganized, low on staff, and basically just a small room inside of another doctor's office. There is only one receptionist and she rarely answers the phone/email. The treatment I got for my hemorrhoid ended up making the symptoms worse and it took at least 48 hours (usually longer) every time I tried to contact the office for a response. Save yourself the hassle and find a more responsible doctor. read more

2 stars because the staff was nice. I do not recommend this Dr. I walked in with serious gastric problems. I thought I was in the wrong place. The waiting room looks like a high end dermatologist office. The word SPA is everywhere as are many creams and lotions. My appt. was at 11:30 and I got there at 11:10 because I am a new patient. The dr. Did not see me until 12:30! ( no apology was offered). Unacceptable. My time is also valuable. I could not establish any rapport with the dr. Called for an appointment on a Monday and got a scheduled appointment by Wednesday. The next day I had a schedule endoscopy. The endoscopy took 15 minutes and everything looked great. I was having extreme stomach issues the last few months and I was calling all the GIs in the Orange County area (GI's can take months to get an apt). I had explained the urgency of my issues and they got me in right away. I have had to go through multiple tests/ procedures to get a diagnosis for my stomach issues, but we did finally get answers. Her staff at the front is super kind and I had minimal wait time. Not to mention making an appointment was so easy and I got right in. I arrived at her office in severe pain and had no idea what Crohn's was and that I would end up being diagnosed with it. She was thorough, compassionate, she listened and was very informative on helping me understand my diagnosis. This doctor will leave you feeling nothing but frustration and anger. Her office staff is friendly and the atmosphere has a very posh cosmetic surgery ambiance. The illusion stops here. On both visits, I waited over an hour and half to have a 10 minute visit. I saw Dr. Rah when I began out of nowhere to experience pain in my chest radiating upward. I considered it might be heartburn or otherwise related to a gastric issue. Dr. Rah was difficult to relate to and didn't seem to understand my perspective. She offered to do a scope to which I agreed as it might give me some answers. The endoscopy didn't show anything conclusive, however at my follow up Dr. Rah informed me that I had acid reflux, handed me prescriptions for proton pump inhibitors AND AN ANTIDEPRESSANT!! I tried to explain that I didn't experience obvious symptoms of acid reflux and I didn't feel depressed, and that I wasn't sure the suggested medicine was right for me. She said if I was unwilling to take the medicine, she could not help me. She then told me it would be best to find another doctor. I am a registered nurse and have enough knowledge to know this doctor didn't have an answer so prescriptions became her answer. It was a mistake to see her, but thankfully I found the right doctor and UCI hospital. After a proper evaluation and echocardiogram, It turned out that I had fluid around my heart from a recent virus. I was told to give it time and use anti-inflammatories for discomfort, and the fluid would recede and resolve. Sure enough, the problem resolved and my cardiac follow ups were normal. I have never written a review for any medical service or medical provider. I am taking the time to share my experience with this unprofessional arrogant gastro doc selling cosmetic procedures on the side. I wish I could have been warned early on to pass on Dr. Rah and find a quality doctor. read more

Without her incredible bedside manner, I might have taken the news worse then I already did. Dr. Rah performed a routine colonoscopy on me in late November 2016. Everything from the preparation to the actual examination was EXCELLENT. Just a few hours later, I felt great (100% normal.) This was not the case with previous doctors and similar procedures. A month later, I chose to have a routine upper gastrointestinal (UGI) endoscopy, again with Dr. Rah and her team (given I had some issues with GERD and difficulty swallowing five years ago.)
