We wanted a customized Champagne wall instead of the traditional champagne tower as a wedding photo op during our cocktail hour. Ryanne took notes of how we wanted our champagne wall and custom signage to look like. It took months of planning and collaboration with other vendors and they made it happen. We also used Cuzzins808 for our photobooth. We chose a hawaiian back drop and package for props and had them incorporate in our personal customized cardboard cut outs of our dogs. We had a 100 plus people wedding and all our guests raved about how fun and interactive our champagne wall and photo booth at our wedding was. It's a beautiful and special place. But it's true. Looking at their Instagram photos, you can really tell how much of a fun and quirky uniqueness it brings to an event! We knew we wanted to book them right away. Unfortunately, on the morning of my wedding day, we received a call from our wedding planner that the Hawaiian Photo Bus company had been burglarized, and much of their equipment had been damaged or stolen. They couldn't do my wedding. I can't tell you how much this broke my heart! I couldn't be angry because this was completely not their fault, and I'm sure they were devastated. Needless to say, we were refunded our money and they apologized. The reason I'm giving them 5 stars, having never experienced the Photo Bus itself, is that they allowed us to use the iconic ALOHA sign free of charge at our reception. Not every company would try to make up for a missed wedding. Although my heart sinks every time I scroll and see one of their posts, I know they are making another event just that much more special. If we ever decide to renew our vows in Kauai with family and friends, you can bet your sweet okole we'll be calling The Hawaiian Photo Bus!

I choose swell amongst all the Kauai photographers because the price was very reasonable, included free download of the pictures and touch-up. I truly felt comfortable when Kristen (Swell Photographer/owner) called me after my initial inquiry email to answer any questions, locations and ideas, she exemplified the Aloha spirit. When we arrived in Kauai, the weather was not in my favor on my booked session. No worries, Kristen accommodated my request to move the session. Additionally, my fiancée and I decided to bring our wedding gown and suit to Kauai, so we can take pre-wedding pictures instead. If your getting married, take as many pictures in your wedding dress because the day of the wedding is not enough time. So I choose to take my pictures 1 hour before sunset on the South side at Mahaulepu Beach. Kristen got pictures with the mountains behind us, sail boat, black rock, sand, oceans and etc. All the pictures turned out perfect without touch ups but I did get some touch ups with my hair and people in the background. After sharing my pictures on FB, received positive comments and likes of the pictures. Few years ago when my dad passed away, it was a bit overwhelming trying to figure out all the important vendors to book to make your day as organized as possible. Knowing that we'll need to capture and remember those moments spent with family and friends, picture taking can be a handful when done by yourself or relying on other people's cellphones. Mel was referred me through a family member. I got his contact info and called him immediately. If I can remember correctly, he responded that same day. We spoke quickly over the phone getting a quick consultation of his service, what my family has coming up, dates and venues involved. Once the date was secured, Mel gave me his website to make a safe online payment. Mel showed up to the church, took many pictures that included series of events during the mass service, also family shots throughout the cemetery grounds. Once lunch was served for guests, he quickly developed a CD to download on a computer/laptop or can easily print out photos at any store. I really appreciate his hard work that this time around I gave him a call a month ago seeing if he still offers photography for my grandpa's funeral. Shot him a message and started to correspond through phone and email to book another date. Because of covid, funerals were limited to so many in attendance, and to simplify the services, my family booked him for just a few hours of photo shooting. Mel was quick at getting back to any inquiries and concerns that came up. Again, he is extremely good at what he does and very accommodating and patient with my family's request, which was really to just get those important shots we wanted for our keepsake. Within 48 hours, he shot me the link to his website with password included for all my family members to easily download any or all pictures taken at this past weekends gathering. Not only he do the job, he understands what a family goes through and shows compassion to my family members as he can relate to the loss of someone near and dear in his family. I see how he puts his best foot forward and makes himself available during these occasions. From conversation, I also learned he's also a mobile DJ for graduation parties, weddings, etc!
