We hired Mallory to take some family photos when we visited Kauai in Feb. 2015. I found her online though various searches for photographers in the area that would be willing and able to travel t Poipu area. I looked at 5 or 6 photographers and first and foremost, I loved her work. It was the style that I was looking for and I thought her photos captured the emotions in various moments. I also read her life story on her website and could tell she loved her profession and was passionate about it. Additionally, she was a great communicator! She responded to my emails within 24 hours (usually less) and worked to be flexible for the dates that we were in Hawaii to make the shoot happen. Other photographers were sporadic in their responses and I felt very confident about Mallory and being able to rely on her. Very important when you are flying thousands of miles and trusting that someone will show up when you expect them to. The photos...beautiful! We wanted some family portraits and she got all the shots we wanted and made us look great. She understood the lighting and angles and the edited photos were wonderful. She's got a great personality to boot. My kids were giving her hugs and wanting to play with her after the shoot and she happily gave them the attention. She walked along the beach with us and told us about her journey and love of photography. She's a gem and if you're looking for someone who can take beautiful photos AND be personable and pleasant to deal with, I would hire her. She's got a great eye and takes beautiful photos. My husband and I just got married in October. We live in Kauai but flew Mallory out to our wedding in California to capture our big day. We love her photos and the amazing details and moments she captures! She was so easy to work with and very accommodating to all of our requests. Mallory was never in the way while taking pictures but somehow caught all the great shots and details of our wedding! She did not try and stage photos to get great photos (as we've seen photographers do) she just found a way to capture them all as they naturally happened. We are exceedingly pleased and thankful for all the photos Mallory took. I am so glad that we chose Mal & her team to document our day. We traveled from NY to AZ because we wanted something different & memorable and man did we get what we had hoped for! The only thing better than the pictures we received are the memories behind them. Mal & Halie have to be 2 of the most real, down to earth people we've ever met. I had the privilege of being a photographer's assistant at a wedding in Stockton with Mallory. It was an amazing glimpse into the world of wedding photography and what a humbling experience!!! We. Loved. Mal! My (now) fiance surprised me with 2 sessions. The first one to capture the proposal (in front of a double rainbow!) and the second one to celebrate! It was our first time to Kauai/Hawaii. My fiance is a researcher by trade - so when he says he found something or someone good, you better believe him! Mal was so humble, down to earth, easy to get along with, and has such a remarkable eye for capturing raw emotions and the beauty of the island. We did a little bit of walking through sand, hopping through some lava rocks, and a wee bit of scaling the side of a sandy/rocky area. This adventurous side of session is what will get you those amazing shots. We both wore our Birkenstocks so it was easy for us to get around. We were married on Kauai in June 2015 and Mallory was our photographer. We could not be happier with our photos! Mallory was very easy to work with and extremely accommodating as we had a last minute change of date due to a family health concern. Not only that, but she was willing to climb up to a cliff with us and take some amazing photos that we will forever cherish (and show off to friends) :) Because of Mallory's background in landscape photography she was able to capture the beauty of the surrounding area in the background of all of our photos. Mallory was incredibly easy going and fun to work with. The images are beautiful and the moments captured just perfect. It's hard to believe that these were taken on a frozen lake, in 13 degrees and we don't look like we we're freezing!. She captured the perfect smiles and got us at our natural loving state.
