Our family has been members of V3 for about 6 months now. We were excited to have a family friendly…read moregym in the neighborhood and their mission made it that much better. There's a childcare center, work out floor, pool, hydrotherapy, and work out classes- not to mention they have partnered with Soul Bowl to offer a full service restaurant. We mostly use the pool, we attend water aerobics twice a week and love the instructions Dawn and Angelina. The indoor pool is heated, there's lap swimming and free swim during the week. The pool provides flotation devices, toys, towels, swim caps, and goggles if needed. They've really made it easy for people to access the pool. At least once a week there is also a women's only swim- honestly something for everyone. We haven't used the hydrotherapy pool but it looks really cool. There is a co-ed locker room with bathrooms and changing rooms. The workout center upstairs has a lot of equipment and weights- whatever you're looking for they most likely have it. There's also classes upstairs throughout the week (think yoga, strength training, soon to be Zumba). There is also a separate locker room upstairs that is divided for men and women. On the main floor is where you will find the childcare center, entrance to Soul Bowl and art that's been done my local artist. The front desk staff are friendly and always seem to remember your name which makes you feel like you're part of something. I know that they are looking to start phase two next year and we are eagerly awaiting the groundbreaking. If you're looking for a local spot to hangout and get in some exercise check this place out. On a recent Saturday I realized the Southdale Y had not recovered from Covid, it was time to end a 20+ year relationship Of the treadmills, 2 were of 20 were tagged as needed repairs and two others should have been out. The software change from last summer is missing functionality that had been there prior, not kinks functionality, it just doesn't work Multiple request for assistance get different answers, I think my count was at 4 when I realized this was not worth it. Talk to a trainer, talk to the help desk, not our problem, send an email to this address. I found it was time of a change and the Southdale Y didn't seem willing to. Not worth the cost, spend more for Lifetime or less at the multiple alternatives.

Ellie and Ella made sure we're kept safe and having fun the entire 2 hours of rock wall climbing and swinging. This is my 2nd time to request a group outing and they make the experience so easy. First, I filled out an online form stating my expected group size and requested date(s). Within a day, a nice gentleman called me back to set expectations and told me which dates and times were available. I then called back the third day to finalize everything. They answered all of my questions quickly and I just had to put a $50 deposit to hold my reservation. Once we arrived, each kid got a wristband so the instructors could easily find which kids belong in our group. Then, we all got a harness and they began a 10-15 minute introductory lesson on how to climb using the auto-belays. They offered to manually belay us, but we all preferred the auto-belays. I settled the bill after the event finished, and it was $30 per person as advertised. Pro Tip: don't forget to bring cash! I gave the instructors cash tips as there was no way to add tip to the credit card transaction. I loved their auto-belay systems. It makes climbing so easy and I felt safe belaying down from the very top. I especially love the Minneapolis location because of the abundance of natural lighting in each climbing area. I'd love to buy a 10 visit pass next time for my family to share as it's a fun way to burn some calories.

They were recently upgraded and renamed to "Splash Valley Water Park" and the upgrades look amazing. There's a huge splash pad area, kids slide & water table, zero depth wading pools, and a lazy river. This is in addition to the 6 adult slides that they already have - a couple of them use tubes. The park is huge and you can easily spend several hours here. We spent 3 hours and that was plenty of time, though I probably could have spent more if I didn't have my kids with me! The downside was the cost - $14 a person for anyone 2 and above. It's very pricey for a family of 4. But I do feel like it was worth it for the amount of fun we had. There are hourly 5 min breaks from the pool - I'm not sure why, maybe a safety check? They also don't allow phones anywhere near the water even if you have a waterproof case. I was surprised because other pools do allow it. Another thing that I didn't like was that a lifeguard yelled to put my lazy river tube on the other far end of the tube storage area - and then she walked towards that area. I had to get my toddler who can't swim from my husband and I'm also heavily pregnant so I couldn't move the tube right away. Would have been nice to get some help instead if she was already walking that way. Despite this I had an overall good experience and plan to visit again in the future.
