Met my family and extended members here. There were fourteen of us. We did call ahead and asked about having a big party. They said they could do a large party and what a great choice. They handled our party efficiently and everything was timely. The service great and friendly. The food came out efficiently and warm. They have a great variety on the menu and a great alcoholic and nonalcoholic variety of drinks. Everyone had a wonderful time visiting and no one felt rushed. They had no problem dividing up the checks when time to settle up. I recommend this restaurant for large parties but there is plenty of space and recommend for small tables as well. Located on the river and easy to access it was a wonderful find and will keep this on our list of great places to meet up.

went for happy hour $4 margaritas which were light on the booze but tasted good NOMd: - cajun fries ($5) perfect crisp and soft ratio. a little too much of seasoning for our liking and the sauce was too pickley. would get again and ask for less seasoning i wanna come back to try more food

sunday morning brunchin' first timer at Mallard's location in Bloomington. some pros: loads of parking available onsite , speedy service , and one of few MN seafood-driven menus . plus, I'd say everything was pretty budget-friendly. some so-so's: ambiance was just okay -- felt a bit more dinerish than I anticipated, which I guess worked out given our reservation for brunch. ‍ the benedict was good - perfectly runny, but wasn't as in love with the crab. food across the table was pretty average overall -- I'd come back for brunch, but maybe not as impressed for dinner. we'll see!! our s featured: crab cake benedict ‍ wild mushroom scramble nashville chicken & waffles

I love Mallards. Love their new menu (old menu was fire too), love their service. Love the crab leg special on Thursdays. Love the Sangria. Love the basket of daily bread, brought to your table warm, multiple toppings, and probably with a prayer. Love the shrimp boil for two. Loved my surf and turf - perfectly prepared filet with NoLa shrimp. Love it all. Frequent patron. Ok, so why the 4 stars? I am so tired of restaurants charging 3-4% for using a credit card. I've also yet to see a digital cash payment option, anywhere. Are we supposed to carry couple of Hundos in cash everywhere. STOP THIS MADNESS. Mallards - for you specifically, your menu is a decent value already. Find the right price point and eliminate the CC surcharge. The CC fee is a pure cash/money grab. 4%? Enough! Do you know how aggravating it is for you to spin it as a "cash discount?" It definitely is in my head as I factor in the tip, and I'm a generous tipper. This practice has to take money from your servers overall. Food was great tonight as always and your servers hustle with a smiley. Get rid of this financial foolishness so I can go back to giving you the glow up you deserve.

We had a terrible experience on our first visit here and my previous review reflected it. On this visit the service was spectacular, the food was great and the drinks were great as well. I ordered the chicken and waffles and asked for it be made as hot as possible and my wife ordered the peanut butter jalapeño smash burger. I got the berry jam old fashioned and she got the espresso martini. When the food came the extra hot sauce was on the side for my chicken. It was a good thing because if I used the whole cup I'd still be sweating. The burger was really good and the Cajun fries were tasty, but had obviously came out of the fryer a minute or two before the burger was done. Those drinks were great especially the old fashioned, I really appreciated the spirit forward cocktail with the fruit taking away the spirits burn.

I ordered the Thai Peanut Chicken Chop and it was kind of a mess. The sauces with it tasted like salt blocks, the chicken was really dry and the chop is basically cabbage. I like cabbage but it really needed something. Cole slaw dressing took care of that, so a fail on the "Thai" bit. The veggie fries are amazing; tempura batter, lightly fried, yummy green beans and carrot firs with a delicious dipping sauce. I could eat these every day. My takeaway is don't order That food from a non-Thai restaurant, lol.

There was parking on the street. We made reservations and were seated right away. The waiter was very friendly. I had a cup of lobster bisque and a lobster roll and fries. The service was fast - under 45 minutes to order and eat. We'd go back again.

Ayyyyye, after taking a year off from Mallards due to a terrible experience in 2023, I decided to hit them up for brunch and it was great. Patio was lovely, service was exceptional, and everyone liked their food. Will be back for more brunch!

The bartender is usually the server on this side of the house. He's always extremely welcoming, helpful, and makes a stiff drink. Fri-Sun they shop runs a "backdoor burger bar" after the normal po' boy shop house and you know I had to get the fried cauliflower. The dish is, more or less, the same as the one from Little Tijuana so I had to get it. This version seemed to have been made a bit more "edina" by removing a lot of the spicy ginger flavor from the original that I love so much. It was still really good, though. Perfectly tempura'd florets with kewpie and a sweet soy-based sauce like hoisin. I'd get it again (I always do) but recommend getting the full Little T's experience if you get the chance

I won't lie the poboy was good but what made it amazing is the lemon aioli that I added to it. The boudin balls were chicken and actually tasty. I give it 4 out 5 and I will definitely try again.

After a 40-minute drive, we were more than ready and the experience totally delivered. We started with the spinach artichoke dip, which our server Katherine highly recommended as her favorite. She was spot on--it was buttery, creamy, and so flavorful. If our food didn't come out so quickly, we would have been scraping every last bit. I had the Tennessee chicken sandwich with fries, and asked for the collard green slaw on the side. Honestly, I wish I had just put it right on the sandwich because after trying it with a bite, I really liked it. The Louisiana hit I did not find to be spicy, more so flavorful. Almost, kinda sweet. Others in our group ordered: The classic chicken sandwich with onion rings, The fried chicken with mac & cheese and cornbread, and a side of collard greens, which were seriously delicious--super well-seasoned and flavorful. Our service was excellent--Katherine chatted with us and made the whole experience even better. She was friendly, helpful, and just had a great vibe. She was blown away at how far we drove to come here. The menu is huge with tons to offer, and the drink menu has a wide variety, including non-alcoholic options, which I appreciate to see. All in all, a fantastic visit. Great food, great service, and a fun spot--we'll definitely be back SOON and you should go, too!
