Just went here recently with my 2 toddlers and was impressed with the new updated facilities and everything the water park had to offer. They were recently upgraded and renamed to "Splash Valley Water Park" and the upgrades look amazing. There's a huge splash pad area, kids slide & water table, zero depth wading pools, and a lazy river. This is in addition to the 6 adult slides that they already have - a couple of them use tubes. The park is huge and you can easily spend several hours here. We spent 3 hours and that was plenty of time, though I probably could have spent more if I didn't have my kids with me! The downside was the cost - $14 a person for anyone 2 and above. It's very pricey for a family of 4. But I do feel like it was worth it for the amount of fun we had. There are hourly 5 min breaks from the pool - I'm not sure why, maybe a safety check? They also don't allow phones anywhere near the water even if you have a waterproof case. I was surprised because other pools do allow it. Another thing that I didn't like was that a lifeguard yelled to put my lazy river tube on the other far end of the tube storage area - and then she walked towards that area. I had to get my toddler who can't swim from my husband and I'm also heavily pregnant so I couldn't move the tube right away. Would have been nice to get some help instead if she was already walking that way. Despite this I had an overall good experience and plan to visit again in the future. read more

Gets expensive being $13/person whether you're 2 or 42. Nice that you can bring your own food drinks and life jacket. Just make sure it's a life saving jacket on the tag. One of mine wasn't but they do offer life jackets to borrow. Hourly breaks from the water. Splash pad. Lazy River. read more

Arrived just prior to opening. There were two long lines. One line was for punch tickets and the other to pay. The punch ticket line got through in a flash and got the pick of lawn chairs. I was toward the end of the pay line and I managed to get what seemed to be the last 2 chairs way back by the lazy river. Comparing Eagan and Apple Valley- Apple Valley has less shade than Cascade Bay in Eagan. My chair was by a little tree, so I pulled my chair back into the grass and was able to get a little shade. The bathrooms aren't as clean as Cascade Bay in Eagan. The admission is $1 less at Apple Valley and I like that Apple Valley allows outside food, unlike Eagan. So, to get a prime seat, get here 20-30 minutes before the gates open at 11, especially if you don't have a punch ticket. And bring a picnic lunch! read more

This is such a great place to go in the summer! Tons of room to find a good spot under shade, great water slides, huge pool, and awesome lazy river. We buy the punch cards because it's so easy and you can use them for more than just one person. I love the water walking for adults. It's fantastic! Of course it was a perfect summer day, and the Apple Valley water park certainly fit in to the days activities. The kids loved it and I had fun too. Positives: - Only $9.00 for the whole day! - You can bring in your own coolers - picnic area - Dry park/ play area for the kids as well - volleyball court on sand - concession area for hotdogs, pop, and ice cream. No, not inexpensive, but i've seen worse prices elsewhere. - Lazy river, two tube slides, two regular water slides, diving pool and plunge shoots, shallow pool - Best of all? Decent lifeguards. Horrible place to go if you don't want your fun ruined. Me and my 4 year old son went and the lifeguards did nothing but hammer on their whistles the entire time. They don't seem to even like their job, more so they just love having power over the children. I did not enjoy my time here at all. I felt harrassed. Spend your $20 elsewhere and you will thank me. My son couldn't even hold his breath under water , WITH ME STANDING there. And they still blew their whistles at us. We also had our phones, and got yelled at not to bring them in the water, we weren't even in the water! I will never be back. read more

Brought my 5 yr old and 6 month old daughters and they loved it. We spent 2 hours there which was fine. Pricing is decent too. The lifeguards are quick to respond too, a kid was drowning and was helped immediately. This is my second time here. I attended after hours as VAA Volunteer Appréciation event. I rôde on all slides to give an accurate review. There are 2 body slides which you ride on without an innertube. The climb up the steps was only 3 stories high. These were nice. The lifeguards told you when to go. They also have à toilet bowl slide which you ride on an innertube. You slide down then ride in circles until you get flushed and end at a small pool. This one is very popular. There is another green innertube slide which is also fun. The Lazy river is where you ride on an innertube and you may have buckets of water dumped on you. I also went down two small drop slides that you must plug your nose. You get dropped in 12' of water. This place is clean, Well maintained and steps are made of aluminium and treaded so you don't slip and fall. Many lifeguards on duty. Plenty of lawn chairs and a concession stand. Bathrooms and changing rooms also clean and maintained. A fun place for parents and kids alike. Highly recommend any day over Wild Mountain in Taylors Falls. read more

I absolutely love this place. All five of my children really enjoy coming here, as there is something for all of them - from the diving board and deep water drop slides to the lazy river to the shallow water kiddie area. One thing that disappoints me though is other parents that come here. I've seen them not enforce rules to their kids and then get mad at the lifeguards for enforcing rules themselves. A lot of parents seem to think they are very entitled - pretty sure one of the other reviewers on here was one I heard screaming at his girlfriend/wife on the lazy river then yelling at someone at the front gate as we were leaving. Mean parents aside, this is a great place and as long as you are responsible, reasonable, and safe, there is no way you should have a bad time here. Also, the water walking is a lot of fun. Overall the park is a good value for the money. Unfortunately there are too many power hungry teens that work there along with poor management that make it frustrating to visit. I've been here twice with my kids but both times I witnessed lifeguards not doing there job as I see it, but instead harassing adults and kids alike since this is their first job with "power". There was a 4 year old kid alone and grasping on the wall crying with no floating devices. He was right under the lifeguard tower and for minutes, the guards did nothing. My wife finally approached the kid who was scared and comforted him. The parent finally found him but the lifeguards did nothing. They were too busy yelling at kids for minor things to even notice. What really frustrated me was being personally harassed by lifeguards in the lazy river and one of the slides for using a gopro hero camcorder. The website is not clear about usage but when I brought it to the managers attention, she walked inside and printed the website page that was vague after making me wait 10 mins outside of her door. I asked for the reason behind it and she said that if glass breaks they drain all the pools and are shut down for three days (bogus). I said then why do others have cell phones in the pool- no answer. I also said gopros are designed for this and are enclosed in plastic housing not glass- once again no answer. I then said what about people wearing glasses in the pool? She said , this is not allowed. I said, I've been wearing mine all day along with hundreds of others with no harassment- once again no response. After leaving I proceeded to wear glasses with no harassment but no longer used the gopro. Until they stop randomly enforcing vague and arbitrary rules and the guards (who are teens) learn to do their job and not pick at kids and adults for minor things that are not on their list of rules, I recommend taking your family elsewhere. Horrible and management is rude lifeguards don't pay attention my daughter and myself was there all day she went down all the slides I went down them with her as well she wanted to go down one last time because she is bow legged and couldn't put her needs together she was not aloud to go there was a smaller little girl behind us and she was to short the girl working said no the guy that said because my daughter can't put her knees together let her still go I talk to one Manger name Alicia in the middle of our conversation Toni came out with attitude saying if you don't like what some lifeguards say then leave and saying half them are new because some went back to college and they don't really know what is going on why at the same time they are holding my daughter at the top of the slide why I'm talking to the manager's and had us walk to the building my daughter gets lost because she was scared I will never ever spend my money in this place again read more
