Good Life Cafe is truly Park Rapids' best-kept secret! This incredible, modern spot has quickly…read morebecome my absolute go-to whenever I'm downtown. Whether you get their Crispy chicken, or Falafel pita, Chicken Wings or chips & dips ...YUM! If you appreciate quality food, genuinely great service, and amazing drinks that are made exactly the way they're supposed to taste, do yourself a favor and go here! Everything feels elevated, fresh, and thoughtfully done, while still having that welcoming small-town feel. Once you discover Good Life Cafe, you honestly won't want to go anywhere else in town. I call it my little slice of heaven in Park Rapids -- and it deserves so much more attention! An absolute must-visit.

Our waiter, Mitch, made sure we didn't want for anything the entire time. We started with the chips & dips. The smoked Gouda cheese dip and guac were memorable--the chips and salsa were not. The BLT with thick cut peppered bacon was scrumptious, but the chips were blegh. I had the beet and basil salad and all I can say is I was looking forward to the goat cheese but because the lettuce wasn't torn/cut enough, you tussled with it on top (and that was after hacking through the beets) while you eventually discovered they rubbed the goat cheese on the bottom of the plate like a dirty little secret. The music, booths/tables, and ambiance were great, so we'd probably give them another try.

There is not a lot of spice or seasoning involved and their hottest sauce is not quite as hot as Whataburger ketchup. The people here love it and it is always busy. They have a great showing at Taste of Dorset even though most of the offerings are right off the Sysco truck and into the fryer. Give it a try if you're near Dorset but bring your own hot sauce.

It actually feels like a completely different restaurant. I loved that it's screened in, with a smaller unscreened section too. The fans kept it nice and cool even in the summer heat, which made sitting out there a great choice. Free chips and salsa is always a win, but the salsa itself was pretty bland. The menu is huge, with plenty of the classics you'd expect along with a few adventurous options I hadn't seen before, which was fun. I ordered the tamale and chile relleno dinner. Both were wonderfully seasoned and smothered in sauce and cheese, and both tasted pretty good. The texture was a little mushy, but not enough to ruin it. The sides of refried beans and Spanish rice were pretty basic, but they worked well as fillers alongside the main dishes. Service was friendly, but our server stayed pretty distant once we ordered, which made the whole experience feel a little impersonal. Overall, I might come back for the patio and a couple of the dishes, but it's not the kind of place that wows you beyond that.
