I called Shamrock for help with a laundry pipe leaking under cement. They came and spent an hour trying to re-create the problem (which couldn't be done as the ground wasn't saturated enough to leak) and basically said we just need to start breaking cement to see where the leak is. I could do that myself! The whole point of the plumber is the expertise they bring in finding the leak's source etc. They had no equipment (like a camera) to be able to put down the pipe and find the leak so that we don't have to break up 10 feet of cement to find the potentially one spot that is leaking. I paid $240 for the just over an hour-long call with no diagnosis of the problem at all. When I talked to the company the day after they really offered no solution such as bringing a camera out (which they should have done in the first place) without further charges. They actually said to me that I "didn't request a camera in my first phone call to them about my problem". Call me crazy but I assumed the professionals would understand that when I say the pipe is buried under cement that would be the only way to see the pipe! I feel like it would have gone a long way to offer to now bring the camera out without being charged again but they were unwilling to help in any way with that. So disappointed in the customer service and blaming me for not requesting a camera. read more

I had been putting off a plumbing repair at my house for years for the simple fact that I did not want to deal with calling a plumber to come and fix it. I finally brought myself to put a call in to my regular plumber, but he was booked out two weeks. Discouraged, I called another local company with great Google reviews. I had an appointment set up for the following week. I took time off of work to be home between 8AM and 10AM on a Tuesday to meet the plumber. I wish I could say I was surprised when I received a text message at 9:45AM letting me know that he was too busy to make the appointment. Completely dejected at this point, I decided to call Shamrock. The person who answered my call was very kind and professional. She took my information and listened as I explained my situation. I took the soonest appointment they had available which was for the following week on a Tuesday between 3-5PM. Again, I made arrangements at work to be home at 3PM to meet the plumber. This time, to my surprise, they actually showed up just before 3:30. I showed them my problem. I had a pipe freeze resulting in a leak behind the stucco on a hose bib I had outside. To fix the problem, they had to locate the pipe within the walls in my basement. They weren't there for five minutes before they got to work. Less than 45 minutes later they were done. They cleaned up the areas and everything with minimal damage to my walls both inside and out. It will be very easy to patch around the work they did to fix my pipe. I was a little nervous because we didn't talk cost until after the job was done (rookie mistake). However, I was pleasantly surprised. Dominick explained that they charge $132 per hour plus the cost of parts. The hose bib and hardware were $42 and my total was $174. I found that to be more than reasonable. I have a few more odds and ends plumbing jobs that I will definitely be reaching out to schedule with Shamrock in the very near future. If you've had similar trouble with plumbers being too busy or not showing up to a scheduled appointment, I highly recommend reaching out to Shamrock. They took good care of me. read more

I needed a a few items fixed around the house: a few sink drains that would not drain, a loose faucet that needed tightening, and a toilet that was leaking from the base. Not major plumbing work. They were able to come pretty soon after contacting them and got everything fixed up within a couple hours. They were very friendly and showed me how to do some of the fixed myself in the future. The price was fairly reasonable I suppose, but the thing that irked me was the addition of the service call fee (around $89, I think) being added to the total. I feel like other companies I have used in the past waive this fee if you go through with the service. I would contact them again in the future. read more

Our water heater abruptly died. We called Shamrock, and from the receptionist on through to dispatch and the technician, my experience was the tops! The dispatcher didn't only set up our appointment, she also listened to what I believed was going on with our system, researched the serial number, found it was still under warranty and quoted the installation and the the amount we would need to pay after warranty. ((We had called a competitor and they claimed they needed to asses the problem - as mentioned before, it was DEAD - don't need a tech to tell me that. They couldn't / wouldn't provide a quote and disregarded any information we had concerning our particular water heater. In short, we spoon fed them, only to be treated poorly.)) Shamrock dispatcher also kept us in mind and when there was a sooner appointment she called us to arrange it with our schedule. On the technical / plumbing side; the service was professional, knowledgeable and courteous. I can not say enough about how pleased we are for having called Shamrock! I feel I can count on them and WILL always turn to them for any and all our plumbing needs. Amazing company with great staff! Called them with a toilet issue the lady over the phone told me there were all scheduled out but told me she would call me back if she could figure something out, called back about an hour later saying she has some technicians on the way! The technicians show up get straight to work and problem fixed quick! Also giving me tips and tricks to fix the problem if it comes back! I'm really disappointed with the level of service. I heard of shamrock from Radio From Hell and decided to try them. I'm a local interior designer and I'm often in need of plumbers for clients. I called the first time and they said someone would call me back. Never called so two weeks later I called again asking for someone to please come give a quote on installing a faucet and fixing a small leak. So Stan I believe is his name came out and looked at it and promised to send a quote and it's been crickets since for 2 weeks. I'll be moving on to someone else now... read more

I needed to have my entire house replumbed due to old galvanized pipes. The needed to dig down to the main, dig under my house and bring the water up through my foundation (my house is in a slab, no crawl space). They then ran pex to every faucet in my home. They bid a fair price and came in on budget. They did the work fast and did a quality job. This was a big job. I could not be happier. CROOKS! We've been charged over $1,000 for the same issue happening 3 times. Of course they claim it's user error, but it's because they never fixed the issue properly the first time they came. The first time someone came over, he lost a glove in the toilet trying to unclog it. The second trip they took to our house a week later, he pulled out a black glove (exactly as the pair he was wearing) and said that was the issue. It was HIS glove that he left the last time he came. Why would a grown adult flush a latex glove down the toilet? Of course it was denied. And this visit only cost $400. Save your time and money and do some research. My water heater was old and leaking from the incoming water pipe as well as leaking from the bottom of the tank. They installed a new heater a couple of days later. The day they were scheduled to come, they gave an exact time they'd be there. No 8 hour window where I was sitting and waiting for someone to show up. UPDATE: Even though Shamrock seemed unconcerned about responding to us in a timely manner while we were engaging their service, upon the publication of this review, they seemed to be instantly fired up to speak to us. My fiancee received 14 calls in the span of a couple hours while he was in meetings this afternoon at work. Shamrock offered to reverse the charges, which we certainly appreciate. However, we didn't want or expect a full refund, we simply wanted to discuss the issues at hand. We are still disappointed in the overall service and experience, although they ultimately, under the duress of public shame, were willing to do what they could to make things right. read more

We had been having trouble with low hot water pressure for a while. Finally broke down and set up a service call through thier website. I got a call from them early Monday morning, and set up an appointment for Wednesday morning. Our tech, Nathan, showed up promptly at our scheduled time. He quickly diagnosed the issue. Turns out I didn't need a new water heater, just needed to clean out the pipes coming out of the water heater. While he was here I had him check our water for hardness, I suspected our softner wasn't working properly. Its not, but that is a different story. He didn't try and sell me a new softner, I appreciated that. We went through the whole house to make sure all was working. He quickly fixed a couple trouble spots, and recommended some things I could take care of myself. He was very professional. I would highly recommend Shamrock, and will call them again if I need any plumbing services. read more

But the other plumbers I looked up had even worse reviews... so I called Shamrock and had good experience with scheduling - even better experience with Nate who was experienced, friendly and quick! I called repeatedly over at least 3 days to get an estimate. Finally got an estimate which was known to be inexact since it was based on phone photos rather than an actual in home estimate (estimator gave 400-600 range). They called this a "quote." I signed the quote but my understanding based on the statement at the bottom of the quote was that I was responsible for all costs related to the job / that this was time and materials job. They came out a week later and performed the job acceptably except I didn't get the type of box I thought I was getting and they didn't clean up the wood shavings from the one 2 x 6 they had to drill a hole through. The job was a very simple job that took the plumber 2.15 hours and the total material cost if I had bought the items at HD would have been below $100. Asked the plumber that did the job how much I owed as he left / wanted to give a check for whatever the amount was. Was told that this had to go through the office. Didn't get the invoice/bill so finally called. Was sent an invoice that did not list the materials nor labor charges. Instead they charged the full cost of the estimate. Called and they stated that was a bid and that it was an agreement and not an estimate despite the statement at the bottom of the document that I was responsible for all costs. Talked to the service manager who stated that if one of his slower plumbers had done the job it could have taken much longer so since he sent one of his fastest plumbers I was getting a deal and that despite the statement at the bottom of the paper he would not have charged more than the quote. Of note I asked a plumber at work how long he would expect it to take to hook up a p trap for a washer to a stack about a foot away and to run PEX inside of a utility room to a manifold 11 feet away. He stated a couple of hours at worst. If you use this company I would make sure you are clear what your agreement is. read more
