Positive side is they respond quickly. Very negative side is parts price gouging and almost usury! Initially, the service tech quoted me over $400 to replace a 75 MFD start capacitor for an AC compressor. This capacitor can be purchased for about $35! Later, determined the capacitor was within specification, but the compressor was locked up, so told me he could unlock the compressor with a "hard start", which he did and that unlocked the compressor to get the unit working again. During check out, he said he's keep the price for the "hard start" the same as the quoted price for the 75 MFD capacitor, a bit over $400. After paying and the tech leaving, I search online and found the "hard start" is about the same price as the capacitor, even a bit lower. Doesn't require much of a math mind to figure out the margins they are making and feeling taken advantage of when desperate! Predatory behavior! read more

However, this particular project bid was so egregiously over priced, I felt compelled to alert other consumers. I collected five bids: 1) Any Hour Services - $773 2) Lovell Electric - $350 3) New Era Electric - $450 4) Legit Electric - $300 5) Austin - $350 Exactly the same specs, yet Any Hour Services was not even in the same ballpark. Charged $399.00 to install. He worked on the 2 repairs for maybe 20 minutes. He was in the house for a total of 25 minutes. some of that time was to do the computer work to give me bids on other work he said we needed. $600.00 for $50.00 in parts and 25 minutes of labor. I called this company and the hit me with a recommendation to replace all the faucets in bathrooms and kitchen and shower cartridge and garbage disposal for $4,032. What a joke. Their prices are ridiculously high. The spokes person called and talked about the quote, I said they were high priced. She told me, "We are not trying to be the cheapest in town. I thought yeah you spend all your money on advertising. The business I went with gave me top of the line brand Rheem heating and A/C with a humidifier cheaper then Any Hour Service cheapest base system. I went with another company. After many years with a highly advertised and expensive company, we decided to try a coupon from Any Hour Services to check our heating and cooling system. I fully expected to be told we needed a new furnace (something the other company had told us many times.) Not only did they honor the low price coupon, they checked everything, and said that though our unit was old, it was in good working condition, and they hoped to keep it that way for awhile, because some of the newer furnaces made then tended to fail. That was about six years ago, and we're still going strong with our original heating setup. We travel a lot, and wanted to get on a regular maintenance program, where Any Hour comes twice per year, and keeps everything clean and working, We can call "any hour" with any trouble or questions. It has worked well. Last month, we decided our contractor may never get around to repairing the tub that he failed to seal or finding where all the leaks were coming from, causing a roof to rain on us downstairs in the garage. We also needed to replace a brand new water heater he'd installed in our new apartment above the new garage. It constantly smelled like sulfur, and the only way to stop it was to run all 50 gallons of water out of it whenever we used it. In Mapleton, that's very expensive. We decided to get a tankless water heater, because we wouldn't have to deal with water just sitting in the tank, growing bacteria and smelling to high heaven whenever we turned on the hot water upstairs in the apartment. Any Hour fixed all the issues, including black mold on the lower floor and cracks that let black widows into the basement. They found and tackled all the problems. No more leaks or spiders! No more smelly water, and no more $300/year to keep water hot when we may not even use it for months. Andrew had discussed all the options, so we decided on a gas tankless, which would require digging a long, deep trench all the way around the house to avoid tearing up concrete. (Our neighbor's was much closer, but that wasn't going to work, either. Ha!) The project began on July 10th, and the city guy finally got here July 31st, but it didn't pass. There was a gas leak and we had to call the gas company, and then the fire department. Ugg. It was due to a faulty part, which Any Hour quickly replaced. Everything is great now, and we just need to keep leveling the trench, adjust the sprinklers, then plant grass and get the lawn to hopefully grow again. We had to repair the drywall, sprinklers and pipe, but we knew that going in, and were okay with it, because if Any Hour had hired someone, it would have been much more expensive. It was something we can do ourselves for less money, so we're glad Any Hour know that, and didn't just assume we'd go for a less hassle but more expensive option. Any Hour is now advertising a lot. I'm hoping it won't change their good prices. Communication is key. Ask, and they'll tell you! Any Hour Services also worked with us on financing this very large and detailed project, which has been very helpful. I used Any Hour Service for about 2 years, during which they scheduled two maintenance visits annually. Unfortunately, each visit seemed to come with new recommendations for costly repairs or upgrades that did not appear necessary. During the most recent visit, the technician informed me that my tankless water heater was leaking, refused to perform maintenance, and recommended replacing the unit at a cost of over $7,000. I decided not to move forward and instead obtained a second opinion from another licensed plumbing company. When I was present for their inspection, they found no leaks and confirmed that the system was operating normally. This was very disappointing, as it suggests that the initial recommendation may not have been accurate. I ultimately canceled my service agreement with Any Hour Service and feel relieved to no longer be pressured into unnecessary work. I wish I had done so sooner. A week later, their install guys, Phil and Bo, arrived when they were supposed to, finished when they said they would, cleaned up any mess they had made, and overall were very professional. I give 4 stars only because just as our systems were installed, we spoke with a friend who was also getting a new HVAC system installed, we found out that they went with another company and got an even better system than us, for thousands less. We hired Any Hour to completely re-pipe the water and sewer systems in our home, but the entire experience has been frustrating and disappointing. Since October, we've dealt with poor workmanship, missed commitments, and a lack of accountability. Water System Installation The technicians assigned to the job were either inexperienced or simply didn't care about the quality of their work. The PEX installation was one of the worst I've seen. Pipes were only partially pushed onto fittings before being crimped, leaving crimp rings improperly placed--sometimes as far as ¾ of an inch off--raising serious concerns about potential leaks. The water valve installation was no better. They wedged a 2x4 between the studs without securing it and patched the hole themselves to hide the poor workmanship (this was the only hole in the entire house they patched). To compensate for a crooked shower valve, they over-tightened one side of the trim to pull it into place. It took them three visits to properly install the shower valve and tub spout. In the basement, the water lines under the sink were unevenly stubbed out--one was 3 inches higher and 6 inches longer than the other. The shut-off valves didn't match, with one angle stop and one straight stop, and none of the lines were secured. The entire house was re-piped in red and blue lines (cold and hot) except for in the basement shower. They decided to switch the colors (not a big deal, but shows their quality of work as a professional plumber). At the washer box, the hot water PEX line was barely attached to the fitting before being crimped. Additionally, they used plastic fittings despite telling us they only used brass. In the kitchen, they over shot the pre-existing hole for the stub out and didnt bother to cut it back and just added a 90-degree fitting and bent it back, which causes tension on the line. They also failed to install a double shut-off valve for the dishwasher. The installation of the tankless water heater was equally concerning. They wedged the temperature and pressure relief valve against a stud, leaving it unable to function properly in the event of a malfunction. Sewer System Installation The sewer installation was no better. We discovered they hadn't replaced the drainpipe for the basement sink, which leaked and damaged the drywall, which we had to replace. When we notified Any Hour, they were dismissive. It took multiple calls and escalations to get a manager to replace the drain pipe and no concern was given about the water damage to our wall and even then, they insisted on working around their own schedule, not ours. The salesperson had assured us that all cast iron pipes would be removed, yet they left a section from the upstairs bathroom through the roof. When questioned, they claimed removing it could compromise the roof flashing--a detail they failed to mention before starting the job. Underground Sewer Replacement The underground sewer replacement was another disaster. They jackhammered the foundation without saw-cutting it first, causing cracks throughout the concrete. The shower drain was installed way off-center, and their attempt to fix it resulted in a messy, poorly-applied concrete patch. Final Thoughts What's most troubling is that we, as homeowners, had to point out every mistake. The salesperson admitted being appalled by the workmanship and promised to send a team to review and correct the entire job, but that never happened. We deeply regret hiring Any Hour. Their lack of quality control, attention to detail, and customer care is unacceptable. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, look elsewhere for plumbing services. read more

We called because we had a blocked toilet. They came and fixed it quickly and that is when the fun started. Your house is old you probably have broken pipes all through your house and out to the sewer hook up. Maybe even some old iron pipes, etc. They ran a camera through the pipes and showed us a little puddle of water. then we were told we needed to replace all the sewer pipes from the toilet to the city hook up for only $40,000. We declined. About 6 months later my sister had the same problem, they said ok. Both old houses and senior citizens. I am pretty sure they thought old scared people. Asked them to come service our furnace. The techs first words were wow that's an old system. (It's from 1999 or so). He then rips apart the unit and immediately goes to the ceramic baffle plate with a camera and says the furnace is not safe to operate because it has a crack on the manufacturered indents. When asked if it's leaking o2 he didn't even sniff it yet. He sniffed it and said there's no 02. Had a second opinion come and say it's fine nothing to worry about. He also didn't clean or do anything to any of the other parts. He also ripped off the competitor companies sticker that was on the front of my furnace. Now it just looks like crap. Go elsewhere unless you want to be told you need a new system for no reason. Edit. They must have put it back together incorrectly now the blower fan sounds out of balance. We have used Anyhour for the last few years and have loved them. Now I will not use them again. I had two drain clogged in a bathroom. when the plumber finally arrived you could tell he was not going to do anything. He did even go in to the bathroom where the clogs are. He said that the plumbing was old and we should just replace it all. We asked him to try to just in clog the drain with an auger but he said he didn't think that would work. Our main water line broke and so we had Any Hour come take a look. They told us this was the fault of the builder and ran a temporary water line for us until they could fix the main line. This was literally a hose hooked up from our garage to the outside main. No digging or anything required and it took the guy probably 10 minutes. Anyway, Any Hour made us put down a $1300 deposit for the job they were going to have to do to fix the pipe. We ended up contacting our builder since Any Hour said it was their fault and the builder ended up doing the work for free for us and told us to cancel our other plumber. Any Hour would not refund us that $1300 deposit stating that that's what it costs to run a temporary hose from your house. This is completely untrue since others have told us they charge $300-$400. I'll gladly pay for the service that was provided but we had to put down money on a job that was never done. Don't do business with this company, they are shady. read more

I had a broken water spigot on the outside of the house that needed replaced. It connected through the home to the bottom of the kitchen sink via an 18" line. I had a handyman (not a plumber) remove the original; set up a new line with PEX tubing, brass connectors, etc. -- all parts in place and 90% of the job complete. It just needed a licensed plumber to connect the new line under the sink. Literally a 20-minute, simple task for any plumber. Any Hour came out; agreed with me it was a simple fix; and proceeded to give me an estimate for $467(!). Took off $100 because I had purchased all of the parts; but still wanted to charge me $367 for 20 minutes of work. That translates into (20x3=60) a rate of $1,101 per hour for the plumber!!! Any Hour would not budge on their pricing. I sent the Any Hour plumber away and found a local plumber to complete the task for less than $100. Per Indeed, the average hourly rate for a plumber in Utah is $30.17. Let's DOUBLE that to $60/hour. Let's TRIPLE that to $90/hour. I would have happily paid the Any Hour plumber $100/hour to do this job. That's more than enough profit for a company to contribute to its overhead. read more

I had any hour come out to repair a leaky faucet in a tub. When they came, they said they would check through the house to make sure there was nothing else that needed repair. They told me there were several things that needed repair. The cost was insane. We had just had a flood recently so I was worried about water issues and decided I better have them repair it all. $6,000 later they had it fixed. Later as I spoke with my husband on some of the repairs they wanted to do I realized they wanted to charge me $350 for a $50 repair. Absolutely insane. And when I got my invoice they didn't list total pricing for anything on it, which was concerning to me. I feel like this is a way for them to overcharge and get away with it. Not honest. Move ahead about 4 weeks and my tub started dripping again. Had a technician come out on a warranty repair and he said he fixed it but if it continued to be a problem we would just have to "bite" it and replace all the piping, which would cost another $2,000!!!! If I could give zero stars 100% would. I had them come out a couple of times for the same issue with nothing being done to solve a problem. I was told as well that we are supposed to change our air filter every 6th months, but then had an issue and then another tech came out and told us no we half to change it every 3 months just to be met with the same problem a month later and the next service tech told us no its once a month. I paid the tech over $700 to clean our AC coils just to have it not done properly and had an issue a week later. I had someone else come out to get another opinion and they gave me a statement that stated any hour didn't do what they said they did. I reach out to see about getting a refund and was met with someone who wanted to have us replace our entire unit and pay 10x the amount. I reach out again to see what their refund policy was to just be ignored then finally some reached out just to have Keaton call and argue with me about what was done, as irrelevant questions and tell me that he had been out to my house a couple more times after he "cleaned" the coils and didn't get told anything and continued to argue with me. We had Any Hour come give our HVAC system a tune up, as we recently moved to a new area. After checking out our system the technician showed us a photo of what appeared to be a major crack in our furnace, which is understandably concerning, but then explained that this could allow carbon monoxide to blow through our vents and into our home. Scary, right? He said that our system was too old, wouldn't last through the summer, and recommended getting a salesperson over to estimate the cost of a full replacement. Of course. We decided to get a second opinion from another company, and that's when Any Hour's lies started to show through. The second technician showed me the area inside my furnace that Any Hour had supposedly taken a picture of, and my unit looked absolutely nothing like the photo. No crack, no carbon monoxide blowing around. This guy said that yes, our system was old, but was in great condition and could easily last another five years or more. Long story short: Any Hour doesn't actually do anything with their "tune up" service besides lie, deceive, and upsell you a new system. I have been calling Any Hour services for many years. They have been great. But this time I had the plumbing under my kitchen sink repaired. The technician was very professional. But I was charged over $600.00. I feel like 500.00 an hour for labor is extremely excessive. I do not blame the technician for this, he was upfront about the work, and he did a good job. But after stressing about it for a couple of weeks, I did reach out to Any Hour to let them know how I felt. They were very professional in their response to me, but I felt that they were more concerned with their bad rating, than they were about me as a customer. I upgraded my rating from a one to a three star, because they were willing to work with me. I feel like they have grown too big. Next time I need something done around my house, I will be calling a smaller company, one that it still puts its customers first. read more

After a great experience with one of Any Hour's technicians two years ago, I signed up for their $29 HVAC system check. The tech checked our furnace and told me that the heat exchanger was cracked and the motor was leaking oil. He called in his "supervisor," (Actually, a sales person). Our system was about 10 years old, so it was possible that the problems were real. We signed up for the replacement of both our furnace and AC (approx. $12,000 with their discount). The next day I called Any Hour and put a hold on the order as I had decided to get a second opinion from another HVAC provider. The salesperson called me later that day and offered an additional $1,000 discount. The other HVAC provider let me watch as they visually checked our heat exchanger, confirmed CO levels, and motor. No problems. The system is probably be good for another 5-10 years. Shame on Any Hour and their employees for trying to dupe me. Be very careful with this company. Get a second opinion. read more

I had one Any Hour Service come out to check why my fireplace was not working. He fixed that and then told me he wanted to check my circuit breaker panel and proceeded to tell me that I needed to replace the whole panel because it was not set up correctly. I told him no and then he told me that I needed smoke detectors that had carbon monoxide detectors with it. He also looked at my outlets and said that I need new outlets because they could cause a fire. He was trying to upsell me on everything. I told him to replace the smoke detectors and he quoted me 2,000. I thought it was quite high in price but I went ahead and did it. Come to find out, I only needed ONE smoke detector with carbon monoxide detectors ON EACH FLOOR. He replaced all of them and charged me a fortune. I feel like they are taking advantage of people.
