The business states that they open at 830 which is untrue the secretary will show up a little after opening time and then there's no sign of a worker till 930. When you call Tom the owner he will tell you that he doesn't answer to you and you are on his time he will get there when he gets there. Excellent prompt service. Bad news was that the steering failed on my Q5 after a night of sub-zero temps, good news was that it resulted in us meeting Tom, who's super knowledgeable. We called AAA for a tow and were connected with Tom. Without even seeing the car he had a good sense of the issue and how to fix it. Tom kept us posted on where he was and an ETA for a tow. He towed my car to his shop nearby (obviously with our consent) and fixed the car in less than 24 hours for an extremely reasonable price. What a great experience with Tom and his speedy roadside service! I was in Fleischmanns, NY for the first time for a long weekend in Oct 2020 with my wife and two young children. We noticed a flat before we were about to leave, it was the first flat in my life, ugh! We felt helpless and were in a cabin way up on a hill and not easily accessible. We called Shamros Tire & Auto Services, spoke to Tom, and he was at our cabin in literally five minutes in his pickup truck, we couldn't believe how fast he arrived. He was so nice, he listened to me explain the issue, then he quickly got our car jacked-up and the tire off. After diagnosing the issue as a bad sensor on the external tire valve, he took the tire back to his shop, fixed it up, and arrived back to finish the job. Thirty minutes later we were ready to hit the road for the 2.5 hour ride back to NYC. I've heard horror stories about people having to pay exorbitant amounts of money when having a car issue, and Tom's service was the EXACT OPPOSITE. We were shocked at the low cost of the roadside service. I offered to follow him back to his shop to pay, but Tom took our credit card number and said he'd run it later, saying if he had any issues, he'd give us a call. He texted us an invoice picture 30 minutes later for our records including the details of the new valve. What an incredible experience that we'll never forget, being in an unfamiliar place, needing help, and Tom coming to our rescue. Chuck from Big Indian Towing also stopped by in case we were in need of a tow, but he and Tom spoke as they know each other, and they concluded it was a simpler solution. We have another trip to Fleischmann's in three months and our positive memory of our tire and Tom's assistance will certainly be a fun topic of discussion. So when I moved full time to Arkville a year-and-a-half ago I need to find a new mechanic. I tried two others before getting a recommendation from one of the local store owners. All I can say is - Thank God! instead of replacing my entire Muffler they're repairing the pipe that goes into the muffler. Fair reasonable and intensely local. The guys he has working for him have worked for him for a long time. a few years ago I needed the car battery charged after a very cold night. Shamros was just down the street and they came immediately and serviced my car needs...they were quick land inexpensivee.
