Handled the suboptimal conditions (mud everywhere, glaring sun, high winds that knocked things down) at the venue with ease and grace. They took our preferences into account- we got the types of photos that were important to us (and more!) and they were in the style we hoped for- natural, did not look heavily edited (and if they were you'd never know it!). My husband and I hired Joe Grant Photography for our 2017 wedding. It was not uncommon for our emails to him, simply inquiring about a date he had set and missed for delivering our photos, to go unanswered. His contract outlines 4-6 weeks to receive the final product, we were not sent our wedding photos until 12 weeks after the event. There are long periods of time during the wedding/reception where there appear to have been no photos taken. It was made clear to us that his assistant (his son's) job was to keep us on schedule, throughout the pre-ceremony photos I was the one asking for the time, and reminding his son to check the schedule. We had outlined when we wanted to take extended family photos, when that time came we were never pulled aside, so unfortunately we have no pictures with any extended family members. One of our biggest issues with Joe was his lack of professionalism. When he continued to miss the dates he himself set for delivering our engagement photos, I sent an email to him outlining my frustrations, and asking that if he misses a due date to please let me know when I can expect to receive the photos, instead of setting a date, not delivering, not contacting me, and not answering my emails. It wasn't until I sent this email that I finally got our engagement photos with no acknowledgement for the frustration he had caused, it was as if I had said nothing. Upon venting my frustration over him to a friend she told me her cousin had used Joe Grant Photography and complained of a lot of the same things. I strongly advise you to consider someone else for photographing your event. Signing with Joe Grant Photography was a huge headache for us, and big mistake.
