I was planning my wedding from about 3 hours from the venue and Air B&B which meant that doing a trial was trickier than it usually would have been, but instead we went with a phone call. During the call she explained her process and her tools clearly, making sure to include why she opted for the makeup and techniques she uses. I described myself and what I was looking for on my big day and she assured me that she understood and that it would be great. And it was! I got the makeup look I was looking for and my girls looked beautiful as well. Everyone had a style that suited them well and was what they requested. I was in desperate need of a really good cut and color before returning to work (after maternity leave) but also wanted to maximize my time with my daughter. Since moving to Chicago two years ago, I have been unable to find a stylist who I love, or even like for that matter. So I was feeling like my hair would be eternally bland... until I met Christina. A friend of mine works with a lot of stylists for her job (for photoshoots, etc.) and I was telling her about my dilemma. She recommended that I call Christina because she had worked with her before AND because she does house calls. I was sold. Now, the experience: I texted Christina on a Monday evening, we talked for a few moments on the phone, she explained her process, I discussed my needs, and the next morning she was at my house with all of her gear and a Starbucks iced latte for each of us. She was THE BEST. She's completely transparent about pricing. Her prices are exactly the same as what I pay in a salon (there is no added fee for coming to your home), but the entire process is so much more fun and relaxing. We decided to touch up my roots, paint in some lighter pieces (like tortoise shell/balayage/ombre) and then bond my hair with Oraplex. Because she used the Oraplex, we only had to trim a little bit off the ends of my hair, allowing me to keep all of my length. She styled my hair with a beautiful blowout, and it lasted a solid four days! She made great recommendations the whole time, she was really efficient in every aspect of her work, and the whole experience felt much more like a fun girls' day vs. the standard salon experience. For all of these reasons -- and because my daughter adored her -- I give my highest recommendation! I finally feel I've found my stylist, and I'm already excited for my next appointment! xo

Started going here for my lashes, went here approximately four times to give Lauren a chance to do…read moremy lashes, every single time. I was not happy with my fills. Consistently had to correct her and fills took no less than two hours. Which normal fills are an hour to an hour and a half. Then, after coming back from vacation, I receive a message from her stating that maybe I should look for a different lash artist because she gets too stressed doing my lashes. I gave her four chances to do my lashes correctly, however, she did not like being corrected, when my lashes were uneven, not the mapping that I asked for or not filled in properly. Not to mention, I asked her to take off the old Lashes and do a complete new set and she did not want to. She stated she did not like doing full sets if she didn't need to. Then she would use the excuse that I didn't have enough Lashes, but other lash artist were able to get my lashes, completely full exactly how I wanted them. I recently decided to check out their services, and booked a highlight and cut with Kenzie It was almost a packed house (all chairs full) when I was getting my hair done. Kenzie is a sweetie and fantastic! I usually give pretty vague descriptions, show a photo or two. I'm not one to get overly upset about results (as long as I walk out with hair below my shoulders, I'm good lol), and prefer to have the artist work their magic. She definitely has the magic!! The highlights are amazing and perfectly placed. The cut is awesome - I love that she still did long layers but in a way that I can still put my hair up or braid it and there are not pieces sticking out every-which-way. I saw Kenzie and showed her a couple inspo pics and explained a couple hair issues I have, and she got to work. She was friendly, and we had a few nice conversations, but also some non-awkward silence, which was relaxing. I didn't feel pressure to make small talk. Even though I arrived a couple minutes late, she was able to complete some foils, a toner, a cut, and a blow dry with time to spare before I had to leave to cross town to teach a yoga class, which was also greatly appreciated! I absolutely love the results - it was just what I was looking for. I'd had an emotionally draining appointment just before going in, so it was a relief in so many ways to be so pleased with the outcome and leave with more confidence and pep in my step.
