EXCEPT a newborn session !! IDK why that never crossed my mind, but apparently those are scheduled MONTHS in advance to ensure there is a spot reserved when the time comes ! I had no idea the window for a newborn is so small (it's like a 12 day window or something like that) so they must be done right away. Timing is critical ! After a few tries of reaching out to photographers, I was referred by Holly Heine to Julie Irene ! & I am SO glad she pointed me in her direction !! Right off the bat I was amazed at her work (I am a photographer myself, so I am very picky !!!!). Julie's work does not scream tacky JCPenny photo session. You can tell right away that every session is unique & catered to ones individual style ~ I just LOVE that !!! I felt very confident upon booking the session with her & was excited. We ended up doing a family session & I added the make up artist onto the package (worth it in my opinion, when you're a new mom getting ready is an impossible task sleep deprived !). The clothing she provides from her prop room for your little one are all hand made by herself & so adorable & timeless. When it was time to go take a look at the photos (a couple weeks later), I was amazed. She had so many options, it was a bit overwhelming but she made it easy to help narrow it down. Our package included a folio box which is an awesome investment ! It is sitting in our living room today. She also sends high res jpegs so you can get those printed on your own at a lab which is awesome. Photos are so important to me, they solidify the memories making them eternal. So yes Julie Irene I'd 10000% recommend. The fact she took me in last minute is amazing !!! She was so patient with scheduling us, the first day we couldn't make it & she could of charged some sort of fee but didn't. She is very patient, & understanding ! While pregnant with my 2nd son I was in search of a photographer to do a newborn session since I…read morehad done one for my 1st son. For my 1st son we went through a different company as it was during the peak Covid-19 pandemic so I had opted for an in home session. I found Julie after a lot of researching online. Immediately fell in love with her work. Reached out to her to see if I could get more info regarding the newborn session. Her assistant called, left me a voicemail along with a follow up email. Unfortunately, I was unable to get back to her for about 2 months because I was still working full time and had a toddler to take care of so time got the best of me. When I did reach back out to her assistant I did not get a response after leaving a voicemail and email. I was still very interested in working with Julie so tried one last time to get in contact via her website. Julie herself immediately responded to me and apologized. Was so glad to hear from her. We were able to get a date/time for us to go to her studio for a quick meeting so she could go over the process, available packages and give us a tour of her studio. Love her studio and loved meeting her as well! She is super sweet and her studio is so spacious. One of the rooms also has bins of toys to keep toddlers preoccupied while she works with the newborn(s). After the meeting I knew I wanted her to do the newborn session for my 2nd son so I signed the contract. After my son was born I let her know our expected go home date and we scheduled for the session about 10 days out. Everything went smoothly day of the session. I had paid a small extra fee to have her hair & makeup girl doll me up as well. She made me look pretty as I was already sleep deprived with a newborn lol. Julie also has boppy and breastfeeding pillows so you can comfortably nurse your newborn to sleep for the photo session. Julie and her assistant were great with both our newborn and toddler. The photos came out amazing and the album we purchased is absolutely beautiful. We are so happy to have had Julie do our 2nd son's newborn session.

There are so many things I can say about how wonderful and talented she is (and the photos truly speak for themselves), but I will break down a few of my favorite qualities in the following categories: Communication: Savannah prides herself on being an excellent communicator, and I can see why! She is super responsive to email and answered all of our questions so quickly and thoroughly. We gave Savannah a few pointers about what our vision was for the location of our shoot (expansive views, nature, forest, etc.), and she came through with amazing, well-researched and thoughtful recommendations. We ultimately chose Lake Tahoe based on her suggestion! She also kept us apprised of the timeline for our photoshoot day and what to expect. After our photoshoot, she sent us sneak peaks almost immediately. We were so impressed, and obsessed over our photos for weeks! Photography: Her skills are off the charts. She captures the best, most natural moments and makes you feel incredibly comfortable while doing it (even in freezing cold weather!). If you think you or your partner may be awkward, you have nothing to worry about. She has poses ready to go so you don't have to think too much. You just get to enjoy the day while she captures the magic. She is also very receptive to your own suggestions! If there is a pose you want to try or a specific picture you want to capture, she welcomes it. Personality: Savannah is the sweetest person. We had so much fun hanging out with her leading up to, during, and after our shoot. She is extremely easy to get along with and you can tell she genuinely cares about her clients and making this the best experience for them. Her work ethic is amazing to see: she puts an enormous amount of time and effort into making your photoshoot come out perfectly, and she does this on top of her super busy schedule. She also goes above and beyond. From the beginning, she answered my millions of questions and even researched dress options for me! We honestly had so much fun during our engagement shoot that we regularly reminisce and want to go back and redo it! :) TL;DR - If you are researching adventure photographers and you don't know what to do, book Savannah ASAP! We booked a mini session with Kelsey and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. She…read morewas extremely professional and welcoming. The booking process was super simple, the session itself was easy and seamless, and she even got the photos back to us sooner than expected. My hubby and I aren't big fans of being in front of the camera, but Kelsey made us feel very at ease. She was also able handle our two girls (ages 6 and 3), who can be quite the handful. They quickly warmed up to Kelsey and she was able to get such nice candid and genuine smiles from them, which is quite the struggle most of the time. The girls had such a fun time, they're asking when the next photoshoot is going to be! Our session was right at sunset, which I think is a wonderful time to take photos. The location she chose was nice and secluded, with easy and plentiful parking. 15 minutes seems like it wouldn't be enough time to take many photos, but she was able to capture quite a lot for us, and it didn't feel rushed at all.
