Do not come here if you don't want your eyebrows chopped off. I've been to this shanti location before but this time it was with an employee I've never had before. I asked for my eyebrows to be cleaned up and shaped and asked not to change the thickness of my brows. When done, my left eyebrow had a large chunk missing from the middle bottom of the brow and is extremely thin. I'm honestly mortified at the situation and how my eyebrows look especially since my wedding is only a few months away. read more

GET MORE LIGHTS! They don't have good lighting , so dark in there and don't use magnify mirrors to actually see your face which is needed for any facial services to see properly. Given lack of light there's always a lot of hairs they miss and have to clean up when I get home. If they got better lighting I'd come back but it's not my go to. read more

After getting my brows done, I feel like a totally new person. I came here for the first time during a lunch break and there were two people working and two people being attended so I just signed in and within 5-10 minutes it was my turn. The experience was good, I'd give it 4 stars; however, the person who helped me kept trying to pressure me to get the membership or the option with more threading for a different price when I had said no. While I understand it was a good deal, after saying no once, I shouldn't have to hear all about it two more times. Besides this, parking was the struggle, and I drove in circles to try this place out. I had to park on a different block since there's only street parking and it was packed. I really dislike leaving negative reviews, but when it comes to services I pay for to maintain my appearance I can't hold back. I am very disappointed with how my threading appointment went today. I've been growing out my eyebrows to fix an ongoing issue because I realized over time that my brows had become uneven with routine "clean-ups". I was told to grow my brows out, so that's what I've been doing. Before she began threading today I told her I was growing the hair out and showed her why and how the brows were uneven. Today all that effort was thrown out the door and I now have two different shaped eyebrows. The lady argued with me for 5 minutes and didn't offer to cover the session. This is not okay, and I will not be going back. If anyone has recommendations for a place that can help me please let me know. read more

Prices seem to be like a dollar or two higher here since it's in Ballard but I think that's to account for the high rent. Walked in and got brows done - the nice thing about Shanti Threading is they have a consistent, quick process at all their locations so even if there's a line, it moves very quick. You walk in They do the threading Ask if you want your brows trimmed/shorter Ask if you want rose water And you're done and you pay. If you like to keep your brows wider/thicker, make sure you make it clear before they start, I did leave a bit narrower than I usually go for, but it was fine and looked clean and refined for a good long while. read more

Eyebrow yanking manufacturing line. At Shanti threading Salon in Ballard, estheticians are always in a hurry to yank out whatever shape makes sense to them and not what the customer wants. They barely have time to listen to what the customer wants. I get it that they are very busy but each person's eyebrow shape are uniquely different and as such clients thoughts must be discussed and heard. Who wants to get their eyebrows yanked just to get home and not like their face. When they are done they even tap your head to tell you to get up and leave so they can serve more clients. No tea/coffee while waiting. No small talk. Quite an intimidating vibe for a salon in the beauty industry. read more

Found this place during COVID after I just moved to Seattle. The prices here are definitely a lot higher than back in California, but I was desperate! I'm glad I found Shanti! I was a little unsure about the whole membership idea, but Pratima gave me a $5 discount and also included my first visit as my first of six redemptions! With the membership, you do save a lot of money, and it comes pretty close to California prices. I put off writing this review until the second time I visited to make sure I got consistent results. What was done to my eyebrows might have been fine if that was what I had asked for. I was given a new shape that I did not ask for and was clear about avoiding. It was first time trying this place and I made it very clear that this would just be a clean-up, keeping the existing shape I had. I said clearly, "Thick and straight" three times and said, "Do not add an arch because I don't have one," pointing out a place where I have a scar. This area with the scar does not have much hair growth so I always point it out and ask brow stylists to avoid it. When the stylist was going over this area, I could tell she was doing exactly what I asked her to avoid! Lo and behold, when she's done, she's tried to add an arch when I don't have one-- making a new shape that ages my face, she has gone over my scar, she has created a hole along the baseline that looks really weird. Also, the one brow with the scar does not even match the other side. So I know have to clean this up myself to attempt to make them symmetrical at least. When I asked, "Why did you try to make an arch here where there wasn't one?" She replied, "Because it would have been too straight." My reply was, "That's what I asked for. 'Thick and straight'!" She just looks at me and says, "Oh." Lesson learned: always go to Threading Browz in Bellevue because they are the best! I couldn't wait for the two weeks to the next appointment and am now far away, but I will go back to Threading Browz. I regret coming here. They don't listen to you and they don't check in as they go if it's your first time. Also, they want your phone number for some reason if you pay in cash. I think that's weird. read more

It was my first time getting my eyebrows threaded. I was pretty excited to not only get this service done, but have all the fine/smaller stray hairs get threaded out as I have read that threading is all about precision and even the tiniest hair can be teased out of its follicle. I asked the woman if she could just clean up under my brow areas and between my brows, but I'm trying to grow out my brows and keep them fluffy. She was very quick and the entire service took maybe 5 minutes. I took a quick look in the hand held mirror, signed up for their membership of brows with lip package program, paid, and left. When I got into my car and looked at my brows more closely, I noticed there were several strays under each brow. I also felt like my brows didn't look as fluffy as they were before my service was done. I guess since the woman doing my threading had nicely shaped, thick brows, I figured I could trust her judgment. Honestly, the shape isn't bad. I'm more bummed that my brows look thinner. Maybe I should've been very clear about what to clean up so that I could keep more of the fluffiness I already had going. I will say that compared to surging and waxing, my upper lip area looks a lot cleaner and smoother after threading. I probably just need to be more specific before they start on my brows. We'll see what happens next time! read more

I have been going to Shanti Threading Salon as long as I have lived in Ballard and not being able to return is definitely one of of the saddest parts of moving away from Seattle. I've been getting my eyebrows done here since I've moved to Ballard and I love their service. They do a great job, it's fast and their hours offer flexibility to go there anytime I can. The prices sound about right for this type of service. Costumer service is nice but not too much talking and that fits well to the environment. The only reason why I don't give 5 stars is because they don't have air circulation in the salon. The door and windows are always closed. I went there yesterday - a Summer day! - the fan was off, windows and door closed. I felt suffocated and concerned about air quality. Even during winter would be nice to have some sort of fan, it's a little painful to get your brows thread and you need to breath. read more

I just renewed my 3 month membership for eyebrow threading. I've been there multiple times and was always happy with the results. Once I wanted to have my eyebrows tinted and they explained that it won't do anything for me, as my eyebrows are already dark. They care about their customers and are not there to push their services on you. The staff is always very friendly and welcoming. They also offer other services at % price if you have membership. Came with a Groupon. Fastest threading I've ever gotten and she was so gentle. I'm really happy with my brows. Thick brows are really trending, so I asked her to keep the shape but to clean up around it. Came out looking like a clean, natural, wearable glossier brow, which is something that I didn't even know I wanted but now I need it. Maybe it's because I asked for her to just tidy it up, but I wasn't in there for more than 5 minutes. I didn't really catch her name, (I heard "Brathlima" but it's probably Pratima, as reviews say here.. I'm so sorry! But I highly recommend her! ) I've been to studio4brow in queen anne and the Shanti in u district but this was the best experience I've had. I don't get threaded as often as I should, so it usually hurts a lot more because I end up coming in looking like sasquach when I finally make it in. I'm okay with a little pain for great brows, but it was really quick and surprisingly painless. (I mean, you're still getting hair yanked out, but it was much more gentle than an epillator or self wax, for example.) I will be back if she is here. read more

After moving to Seattle, I had been trying different threading salons and was not able to find an affordable option that was consistent among the threaders. My go to spot for eye brow threading. Forgot how much it was that I paid for 6 sessions. It is REALLY convenient and easy if you buy a multiple trip pass. I usually just show up, put my name on waitlist, show ID, get eyebrows threaded (which takes about 10 minutes), and then leave. The process is super simple and literally takes me about 30 minutes or less if there is no one there. The staff is always friendly and they follow COVID pre-cautions. Highly recommend! read more

The service here was alright. I had gone in to get my upper lips and eyebrows threaded. After a 20 minute I was attended to. There was only one lady taking care of the clients. At the end of it I mentioned about the check-in deal for first time customers and whether she could apply that to the bill and I was told there was no such deal. I paid whatever was the sum and left . What I didn't like was that she didn't even bother to take a look at whether or not it was available. Shanti salon is not particularly cheap for the services they provide. (Based on the board put up.in the salon) . Pratima did a great job. I usually dread every threading session due to the pain involved since I have sensitive skin.
