Quick, clean, and straight to the point. This was not the best expierence in the world and it wasn't the worst. I came in for the first time for a happy hour Brazilian. This would had been by 2nd time doing a Brazilian within 2 years. So I was a little nervous and this was a new place for me. When I first came in, there was no one at the desk for 5 minutes. The waiting room was clean, beautiful, and aesthetically pleasing. Finally, the receptionist came in. She didn't give me eye contact, she didn't look happy, and simply asked if I was here to check-in. I quickly got checked-in. Not the best first impression, but maybe she was having a bad day. She did her job, but it wasn't quite welcoming. Carly quickly got me in and it seemed like she assumed that I've done this before, so I was given quick instructions to lay under the towel. I was in the room by myself and kind of blanked on what she just told me. I was a little nervous to step out and ask for instructions again, so I waited for her to check in with me again. Carly was quick and straight to the point. She didn't butter things up saying it was going to be okay, which is fine by me. I have to say, she did a very good job down there. So I'm happy with the service. What could had made the expirence even better was their hospitality and customer service. They all did their job, but I don't feel like they were trying to connect with me, the customer, or engage with me. No, "Hello! Welcome! Is this your first time here? Have you had a brazillian before? How are you?" - none of that. This is the place to go if you've been waxing for a long time and need a quick in and out. That get an A+ for that. But if you'd like someone who's more personable, warm, and walk you through the steps. read more

Couldn't be happier with this place! To the inside, the staff, professionalism and just overall feel of the place is top notch (all locations are great tbh). Lola is the best! I've been seeing her for years now and it's always fun to catch up and just chat about life. I scheduled a full arm, full legs and underarms waxing with them. I gave them 3stars because The lady who did my waxing was friendly and nice but when I returned home & checked she left so many patches of hair on my hand and legs. I think either they have that target to complete the task within 1 hr or what but paying 200 bucks , expensive & still have so many hair left....its not worth it. Now i will have to schedule with some other person because they did not do their work. Find some other place read more

Feel very safe with their Covid measures here. The wax is good and I have very few issues as hair starts coming back. They have good oils to get off the residue so I don't end up lint all over till a shower. Prices are reasonable compared to other places I have found. Easy parking and large waiting area. read more

Fancy pantsy spot with killer customer service. I've only been once, but if my first visit is any indication, the Wax Bar is a great counterpoint to the mall based spa I was going to previously for personal services. Walked in to this small, modern shop to a friendly greeting at the front desk, and the offer of delicious chilled cucumber water (you can also buy a beer. if say, your treatment is, ahem, a little more involved and you want to feel zen before things commence.) I was then invited into a clean, pretty private room for my treatment. I was getting my eyebrows shaped and Michelle had me try a few new things: simple solutions that made a big difference. The treatment was swift and efficient, the conversation flowed and the oils and potions and lotions used afterwards smelled absolutely fantastic. I don't think I ever had aromatherapy at an eyebrow shaping before, but I could get used to this! At the end, she put "ice rollers" over the brows to stop any stinging and on a hot day, if felt like a sensational chilly mini-massage. The best part: the end result looked pretty great. Impressed with the first visit, and I ended up here after one too many just-okay treatments at the nearby U Village spot I was going, out of sheer inertia. This place is more expensive than my regular place, so there was a little sticker shock, but it seemed worth the upcharge, and apparently they have a weekly afternoon happy hour for brows at a significant discount. even less than my regular spot, cha ching! I love a good deal for a great service, and bonus, plus they hit customer service out of the park. I'll be back and if they prove consistent at happy hour prices, this place could easily get my five stars! read more

I was a repeating customer with Carly she is an excellent waxer and I have seen her for about 8 months. I was running 10 minutes late for an appointment trying to get out of the office for vacation. And I called to be courteous and they told me they would not take me. It really upset me considering I was a reoccurring customer. Not to mention I have graciously waited 10 or 15 minutes past my appointment time before. If you are a business woman looking for any flexibility this is not your place. They stack their times too close back to back. They also apparently don't appreciate long term customer satisfaction as I told the receptionist on the phone they just lost a customer and her response was "ok". read more

I got my eyebrows waxed for the first time ever by Elana. I was so nervous that someone would overdo it but she was incredible. Love this place. Ok prices, clean and comfortable, great service from the front end staff and the estheticians (I see Michelle but I'm told she's moving to a new salon soon, booo because she's awesome), they have products you might want out front like TendSkin but there's no automatic upsell. These guys can do hard or soft wax which is great because I feel like hard wax has become hard to find since sugaring became popular a few years ago, but for my delicate skin nothing is as gentle as hard wax. I had been using a fantastic waxer in Bellevue but since I no longer live or work on the east side I was so excited to see this place was 5 minutes away from me and had a groupon. I walked in and fell in love with the amazing candles, jewelry and small gifts. I instantly grabbed a beer and wandered around while browsing and smelling literally every candle ( I have an addiction). I came in for a brow and Brazilian and was pleased at how efficient both services were. I had Anna and she confirmed that I really just needed a touch up for my brows and did a great job. Honestly I'm excited to say this is my new waxing place, I find them to actually be on par with what I was paying before but the added beer and charm is totally a win win for me. The newest addition to the Wax Bar sites in Seattle which landed in Laurelhurst, has become a gem around the corner for me. Working at Children's Hospital, I have a regular discount here that allows me to indulge not only in maintenance waxing and lashing... but also in the great products that are found through the keen eye of the owner. My Brazilian waxing experience has become virtually (ok.. sting ) painless, whereas I used to dread this experience like the dentist, but considered it more important than clean teeth. Another service I started receiving at the Wax Bar in Laurelhurst are Eyelash Extensions. These have been amazing! I am complimented at least 3-4 times a day how beautiful and natural my lashes look. Jillian the esthetician who does my extensions is such a light! I enjoy the experience so much it is likened to me to going in for a meditation and coming out beautiful! No more mascara and super low maintenance and super natural. LOVE. Everyone here is amazing! The Front desk woman in charge: Kiran is also quite lovely and I can't resist talking to her and catching up as if she were a friend every time I show up. I pass this place everyday on my way to work but I only recently tried it- and I should have tried it earlier! I've had an express facial, age smart facial, peel, and eyebrow waxing done here. Michelle is awesome! She is very knowledgeable and it is obvious her top priority is serving the customer. It is a bit pricier than my other facial place but I prefer the products they use here (dermalogica) and I have seen more results. For one it is super convenient for two it is super cute and the service was friendly and three they had happy hour from 1pm to 3pm so my brows were 15 dollars!! I decided to try this brow place because it was a more convenient drive from my house. However, I am very disappointed about my brow wax. I communicated to the woman, Carly who worked on my brows that I wanted to keep them full, but she took so much off that I am missing half of my brows. She also took too much hair off at the center or my brows so they are now uneven. However, I'm giving this place 3 stars because I called and spoke with the office manager, Nicole to express my concerns and she offered my free brow growth serum and an appointment to try and help. read more

I love this place! I've received a facial, a Brazilian, and lash extensions here and every experience was perfect. I was lucky enough to have Jillian for all of my treatments and I had no idea just how lucky I was! Quick and efficient for the Brazilian, knowledgeable about the facial for my sensitive skin, and a wizard with lash extensions. I was just going to try them out for my honeymoon but she did such an awesome job that I'm addicted! I give it 3 stars because perhaps they arent as familiar with asian eyebrows? I was disappointed that they did not do a clean job as I expected them to. there were still lots of shorty unruly hairs below the arch of the eyebrow and above it. I had to pluck them out myself :( I wouldn't go back there again personally. I've been going to a fantastic waxer near Downtown and she does a great clean job. I usually wax because it gives a clean sharp look, however this time it wasn't clean or sharp and did not achieve the look that waxing usually gives. I could achieve the same look plucking it myself. Wax bar is closer to where I live, but maybe not cut out for asian brows? However, the girls were absolutely super sweet and had great service!! The ambiance is super cute and relaxing!! My usual esthetician( hint , fancy Aveda salon) was getting too busy to get appointments with so I gave Wax Bar a try and I am so glad I did! Easy parking, close to home and Michelle was the best! She really knows what she's doing ! I had the eye package and brow wax, no stinging, not even redness after. They have these yummy ice rollers that they use that really cool your skin down, I have really sensitive skin and usually have to run straight home after one of these appointments but I Left there looking somewhat normal. I've tried a few other places before coming here. Getting a Brazilian is painful (though depending on the esthetician - it can be a slight sting or painful rug burn) and can be awkward. Going to The Wax Bar definitely takes the awkwardness out of the process. I won't lie; getting a Brazilian is still painful though it's more like a sting when I get waxed by Michelle. She is fantastic. She has a way of making the whole process as quick and as comfortable as possible. Recently, she's used hard wax, which has been nearly life changing. It's still a hot wax that is put on the skin and hardens. Michelle explained this better, but all I know is that hard wax makes getting waxed less painful and there is not sticky residue. So go see Michelle! She's great! Plus there waiting area has really cute stuff and there front desk girl, Kieran (I hope I'm spelling that right) is very sweet.
