Van did my nails and she did such a great job I am very impressed with her work and will be back to request her. I showed her a inspo pic and she replicated it pretty accurately along with some adjustments I made. Another lady did my pedicure, she did a great job as well, the massage and exfoliation was nice. I've always had good experiences coming here, all of the nail techs I've been paired with do a great job. Today I came in for the first time to have high level advanced nail art done by Van and I am overall satisfied, leaving four stars because there were a few slight differences on both my hands that were too late to change because the polish was already cured. She put in great attention to detail and gave me almost exactly what I wanted, I just wish there had been a little more careful comparison with making sure both of my hands matched each other as I paid a lot of money for this appointment. read more

However, the complimentary add-on service that was included during online booking was not honored. At checkout, I was told it was a "website error." I even had the website team called to confirm, but management still refused to provide the complimentary service. I explained that this wasn't a customer responsibility -- if there's a website error, it should be handled by the business, not passed on to the client. I hope no one else has this experience. I had high hopes for this place because it came highly recommended, but they gave me what was quite possibly the worst manicure and pedicure. I've ever gotten in Seattle and I've lived here 12 years. After one weekend both my nails and my toes were chipped and I hadn't done much of anything that would warrant that damage. Very disappointed. read more

I want to preface this review saying that I have been to White Lotus multiple times before this and have had outstanding service every time. In my opinion the best in Ballard. My technician today showed up later my than scheduled appointment (unbothered and didn't apologize )and then sat on her phone for minutes in front of me before starting. She seemed incredibly annoyed, bothered and condescending from the beginning. Instead of soaking my current set of dip nails off as I have had done at WL in the past in an acetone solution my long natural nails were drilled down to a thin layer that had to be completely cut off. I explained to my technician that I had a couple breaks in my nails that needed to be addressed and that I would like to add tips to my nails if they were necessary to achieve the "square square" look I requested. As I tried to explain this I was cut off multiple times and left unable to speak. When I attempted to remind the technician of the shape I requested she loudly corrected me drawing attention from other patrons in the salon. I have never in the 20 years I have been attending salons been treated as poorly as I was this evening. I left embarrassed and humiliated by my technicians treatment in tears and left mid service. I will most likely never be back. White Lotus was my last hope in Ballard. read more

I'm glad that I didn't read the reviews before coming... contrary to the experiences others have had, mine was really good. I've tried a number of salons in the ballard/market street area, and white lotus has been the best experience so far. The staff are very cordial and the quality of their work is really good! My nail tech was Mary. She was quick with the service - I was surprised at how efficient she was with my gel refill. No wasted movements, and she understood what I wanted from the picture. It only took about 1hr from walk in to leaving. I've found my new nail spot, whoo! In addition, you can text them for an appointment, for those who are averse to phone calls! They are very friendly and helpful via text. The prices are very fair too- definitely give them a try for your nails! So happy to have found a great nail salon near my apartment! read more

I have been in this salonmultiple times before as I live in the area. They were ok but, I just had a horrible experience. The front desk guy was super rude. I checked their color palet then I decided to use my own color. While I was checking the colors he was looking at another direction. Then he asked me "is that your color"? implying that I stole the nail polish. I tried to not to overreact cause I really was on a tight schedule and needed the service. Service was ok but right before I check out . I was expecting a question like how was your service instead he asked how was your color. I mean I am paying 100+ dollars for this service nobody needs your 5 dollar color. The nail specialist was just ok. I hope they learn to treat people better. read more

I had a terrible time with unprofessional and rude behavior. I went here last year for my brother's wedding with similar complaints about this behavior. I wanted to give them a second chance, but am disappointed. I am still unsure that I got the full nail care treatment that is supposed to be provided in the package I selected. I had to ask twice if I was going to receive certain treatments that were included. I asked her if she was going to push and/or cut my cuticles and each time I had to ask, she treated me very rudely. When she proceeded to cut them, she nicked me twice, and it was obvious that she was irritated. As she continued to coat my nails, it would sting the cuts and there was bleeding. Her glove also ripped at one point, but she continued to use it anyway. Overall, she had very terrible customer service and was very rude. There are quite a few mistakes made on my nails, and just a lack of attention to detail. On top of being uneven, she got glitter on other nails and when I asked her to remove it, she said it would just wash off which was not the case and when I showed her, she brushed me off and said it's fine. I felt very uncomfortable my entire time there. I am unhappy with the experience I had with Van Truong as I paid $75 for this service. I will never come here again. read more

I have been going to White Lotus Salon ever since my last review six years ago. All the staff is extremely friendly and I've never had a bad experience here. For this particular review I would like to shout out to Mary and Van! I brought a close friend here to celebrate her birthday and she treated her inner child to some glow in the dark nails. We both love our services that were done and appreciated how each technician worked with us and our ideas to make our nails really come alive. I HIGHLY recommend this salon to anyone looking for a great nail salon home, with lovely people, beautiful decor and who like to support women owned businesses, and small local businesses in general. I feel really bad to write this review as I've been going to this nail salon for the last few years. Generally, my services have been wonderful - amazing pedicures/manicures as well as a lovely staff. However, this last service was not as great as previous times. I got a gel manicure & pedicure the other day and the woman doing my manicure was a bit aggressive with the cuticle cutter. She ended up cutting me on five of my fingers causing each one to bleed. I didn't notice until the manicure was done and I could feel soreness on my hands. Thankfully, the male technician doing my pedicure could tell I was in pain and asked if everything was okay - I showed him my nails and he took care of me by bringing it up the receptionist who then gave me a small discount as well as the female technician who did my manicure. She ended up coming back out and putting this solution on my fingers to stop the bleeding that burned immensely! A few days later (as I'm writing this), I am still in a lot of pain and a few of my fingers look/feel injured. I'm honestly pretty upset that a simple manicure could lead to this. I have been cut before by manicurist going too hard with the nail cutter or drill but not on multiple fingers. Also, I have had this female technician a few months prior and she went really rough on the nail drill after I told her my nails were sensitive post transitioning off of acrylic sets for a year. It was incredibly painful. I probably won't be returning to this salon as regularly anymore or getting manicures from this same manicurists. At first I was shocked because they no longer offered acrylic without gel so I automatically had to pay $55 and up so I of course was annoyed but went through with it. I've gotten my nails done PLENTY of times so I know the process. The girl although she was extremely nice was an amateur and if I'm paying $55 for a full set and expected to pay for a very basic gel then I NEED a good job to be done. The girl who did my nails was really slow, I asked for coffin and showed her the exact shape I wanted and didn't deliver. Why didn't I say anything? Well because by this time I was already over it because I was cut and burnt on multiple fingers and just wanted to be done. I would leave 1 star but I've had such a good time here previously that it pains me to write this. Businesses are struggling because of the pandemic but when I pay $67 and walk out with nails that look like mine did, it almost feels like a robbery. Unfortunately I did not have time to ask them to redo my nails because I was on a tight schedule to fly home for my bridal shower, and booked this fill and art a week in advance. The service rapidly has declined here and I will be looking for a new salon. When I walked in, the receptionist who checked me in asked me repeatedly if I was sure I made an appointment, so I showed her the texts to confirm. She seemed confused. After being sat, two different employees worked on my nails. The initial artist did a good job filling and shaping my nails but when it came to the nail art, it was almost appalling. Not only did the art not look close to what I hoped to get, she did not take the time to oil my cuticles or ask me how I felt after. She kept going back and forth to the front desk and painting my hands in between clients. I felt like an after thought, and my nails are nowhere near what I wanted for a day that is supposed to be extremely special to me. I got my nails done here with a friend and 4 days later one of them popped off. I paid over 100 dollars + 20% tip for them. While the design was very well done the customer service is poor. I came back in 2 days after the nail fell off and was told it could not be put on again without a charge. I then asked if they could simply glue the old nail on and they proceeded to still charge me. I am disappointed as I had high hopes for this nail place. And was met with judgement and told I was in the wrong for simply asking if they could put the nail back on without charge considering the obscene price I had already paid. I was expecting long lasting nails with good nail prep before hand. The lady who did my nails did no nail prep what so ever, so I am not surprised the nails are falling off. read more

This place is pretty hit or miss. I went a few months ago and got a lovely dip manicure. Then I went just before Mother's Day and had a terrible one. It started chipping off after just 3 days and when I went in to get it removed, the woman removing it drilled so close to my nailbed that it hurt to the touch for weeks. It's July now and my nails are still recovering. I also paid to have the woman wreck my nails while she was removing the dip. I understand that dip can cause damage to your nails but it was the removal that really did the damage. I should not have had to pay for that at all. I haven't touched my nails since because they are still so thin that they are chipping on everything. :( read more

I was so looking forward to trying this place after reading the reviews but I left quite disappointed. I stopped by for a walk-in and waited an acceptable amount of time. I was then rushed to the back room without being asked what I wanted to get done so I figured as other salons they would give me choices before getting started, that didn't happen. Since they were busy I was ok with a basic pedicure, but as soon as the girl was done she said Thank you and walked away quickly before I could ask about getting a manicure, didn't even tell me if I needed to wait for my toes to dry or where to put the toe separator. To make matters worse, this is the most expensive basic pedicure I've ever had, at $40, even the 10% off yelp offer didn't make it that much better. So yeah, disappointing service and not even a good pedicure as they left a small callus on my toe that could have been easily filed. I've been getting my full set of fake nails for years, encountering several nail techs that can be pretty rough, and aggressive. Either buffing on the skin or nail and physically causing injury or pain. Honestly thought that was normal for a long time. Previously I'd see them cut corners as well, such as scraping and prying off the old set with their own nails instead of letting them gently soak off with acetone and foils. At White Lotus this hasn't been the case at all! Not only did this establishment make me feel safe getting my nails done post-covid quarantine, but Elena did a fantastic job, and never hurt me once. The final cost was $100. I left quickly because of how rude they were, leaving my jacket on the chair. 5 minutes later I ran back to grab it but they had already closed. I took a photo of it from the outside and I called the next day. They wouldn't confirm or deny they still had my coat and I was unable to make it before my flight back to the east coast. I was a little skeptical about this salon as I've tried quite a few so far with not a lot of luck. I wanted another powder dip and to try and get the almond shape back. I was talking to my coworker who also gets her nails done and mentioned someone she follows on Instagram coming to this place. Since I work in Ballard this was super convenient and I thought might as well give it a try. I called ahead of time and the receptionist was super sweet and immediately scheduled an appointment. It was only a 7 minute drive from work and along mainly street in Ballard which is always a plus! The salon is super quaint with exposed brick and clean stations (the music was also a plus!). I got to look through the many powder dip colors and was excited when I saw they carried OPI! I was seated right away and the lady was super sweet. Her station was clean and she really listened to what I wanted. She made sure that each nail was the appropriate length and they all matched on both hands which I've never had before. Then when they were ready to see me, I was skeptical as to why I was the only person that was put in the back for my pedicure when there were obviously open seats up front. Then I had to wait like 15 minutes for someone to come, so I started getting annoyed. However, my pedicure turned out well; but, my manicure was more complicated. Apparently they don't know the method for doing v-tip nails, because the lady doing my nails had to redo my nails multiple times, and as a perfectionist, there are things that I wish she would've corrected. She got it right in the end, but it took so long to do it. I was there for 3 hours, and while I was satisfied with my nails, I don't think I'll be doing these nails again.
