I've come to Katie's 9:30 FLOW class the last few Saturdays since I moved here, and each one has been fun, thoughtful, and exactly what I was looking for - even though I didn't know it before class. She is effortless in her teaching, and speaks as if she's a friend guiding your body from shape to shape. There's no pretense to her presence, just authenticity and a true passion for what she does. I moved away from a very strong yoga practice and community back home at a studio I adore, and this place already feels like home away from home. The practice space: Thoughtfully appointed with a laid back feel, it's a perfect space to flow. The ceilings are tall, light is abundant, and there's plenty of wall space for an end-of-class legs up the wall savasana. Juicy. Lots of plants and greenery, plus wood and gauzy curtains that lend a very breezy energy. At a glance appears to have space for 15-20 mats (give or take). Logistics: There's one restroom shared by a few wellness businesses in the communal hallway. Entry to the space requires walking up a flight up stairs - there's no elevator that I've been able to find. Parking: Ample street parking - and directly across from Schnucks, so it's perfect to get some weekend or evening grocery shopping done after class. Extras: The community seems to interact with one another and know each others names and faces. Very friendly studio, options galore. Lots of options given and all levels of experience in class. I decided to take the journey into yoga after becoming an empty nester and looking for a way to slow down and exhale. I researched yoga studios and loved the feel and messages on Shanti's social media feeds. That was 2022 and now I am a devotee and found an AMAZING community that goes beyond the mat. The teachers inspire me, the two locations are designed to transport you into a zen state of mind, quality equipment, and creative workshops. What's not to love about a Yoga studio with kombucha on tap? No lie - Shanti yoga has s fresh "keg" of kombucha on tap at all times. The place is so cool I felt the years melt off my 50-something frame with each step I climbed toward the studio. I've only done one class at the studio so far (Hatha flow, 5:30 p.m. Monday) but I really enjoyed it and plan to try as many more as possible In the next month. My daughter and I bought each other the 30-day/$30 unlimited yoga new student special for our April birthdays and we hope to hit a bunch of the classes at the Maplewood and South County studios. We chose Shanti because my daughter is a yoga newbie and we heard it is one of the friendlier studios with accessible classes for all abilities. The space is nice and inviting, with a separate cubby room, a bathroom, a massage room, a kombucha and equipment area and a practice area that faces large windows. The class offerings are widely varied and I'm super excited to try inversions and restorative flow. read more

I love taking classes at Shanti Yoga. The studio is located above Bogaloo and always have kombucha on tap! Maplewood is great and busy but parking space is always found if you look closely enough. They are pretty strict about their 5 min late only policy, so - be on time. Their Yindulgent classes are fantastic. They consist of stretches and holding yoga poses for a while to activate your parasympathetic nervous system and decrease anxiety and stress. I am a total believer. Ladies and gentleman give up your therapy, alcohol and anxiety meds- this right here is a cure to all your stresses! You will meet all sorts of people in the class and it is a really great place. Shanti yoga and its instructors are accepting , kind and open. I love taking classes by Katie, Casey and Erin, though I know I haven't taken classes with so many of the other wonderful instructors. That being said it is a place I think about fondly and want to visit as often as I can. It is welcome space for everyone, from beginners to advanced yogis to learn and grow . They have an unlimited membership for $30 for the first month, and then you have an option to sign up if you are a student for cheaper rates, or as a supporter of students (karma membership). With an unlimited membership option you can even bring a friend once a month. The studio per se is up a wooden stairwell leading to cubbies to keep your things, and leading to shelves with props. The space has an image of a buddha and is all wood floor, bright walls and soothing music. The energy and the experience , in my opinion are amazing and totally worth it! Try it and I don't think you will regret your foray into yoga. read more

Cool spot. I've had all the instructors at this point. Casey is my favorite. Atmosphere is great. Class times are fairly accessible. It has not been crowded, but has been well attended. I am giving it a 4 star because it lacks hands on adjustments. read more

I just moved to St. Louis from California. I was in search for a Yoga Studio that was humble, down to earth, kind, and of love. I went to Shanti Yoga today for my 2nd class, and I am pretty confident in saying this just might be my new yoga home! Initially I inquired with the studio, and within the hour, the owner had responded with a delightful, friendly, and helpful message. I signed up on their website for the new student promo, which is $30 for the first 30 days. The process to sign up for a class is very easy, intuitive, and my guess is probably will end up being necessary for them as they become more and more popular. Having said that, the space feels very good to be in, but I could see how it can also be easily filled. I would imagine that when word gets out of this studio, classes will fill, and this online sign up process will work great! I do prefer a cozy studio, so this fit the bill perfectly for me. It is very cozy, and the energy is very light, welcoming, and balanced. My first class was Gentle Flow with Katie Kelly, and it was exactly that; a gentle practice to ease myself back in with grace, after not practicing for a few months. She is a splendid teacher; so down to earth, eloquent, an all around solid leader in the practice. Today I took a Dynamic Flow with Kate Bee, and it was also a delight. A very grounded, strong, and graceful essence. The people were all very friendly, and diverse. There is a wide age range and level of experience, and I felt very comfortable. I will definitely visit Shanti Yoga again, and will most likely make it my go to yoga community here in St. Louis. read more

I have been meaning to review for over a month.... This studio is absolutely perfect in every way. Kind and knowledgable instructors with a small studio, perfect for the grassroots and true yoga experience you've been waiting for. I have yet to have a bad instructor and every class I've taken has been amazing. They are encouraging, and give such a great energy for regaining clarity, calm and focus. I look forward to going to class each week and I'm bummed when I have to miss one. The studio has whit Christmas lights hanging in the stairwell as you walk up to the studio and this is one of my favorite things as it makes it so special and calming. I can't say enough good things. I love this Maplewood Studio! I love it's cozy, intimate space and phenomenal roster of yoga teachers - they are all amazing, yet unique in teaching style and personality. I started out with them as a $30 for 30 (a month of yoga for just $30 = sweet deal), and joined as a member after both my husband and I really got into a good routine of classes. I haven't been to one, but it's cool that they offer meditation as well! read more

I love Shanti! As a beginner I was a bit intimidated by the whole yoga thing but after about 30 minutes in my first class I was totally comfortable. The studio offers many different types of classes from restorative (wow) to ashtanga. The instructors tailor each class for different ability levels. With no judgement.
