We love coming here on our annual trip to Sunriver! The pool is a great place to take kids off all ages. They've got a baby pool area which is for kids under 5. It includes a splash pad/water play area. They also have a larger splash pad open to all ages. Their main pool has a zero depth entry so it's perfect for little ones to sit and play! On the deep end of the pool they have these two giant blow-up sharks that kids can climb and sit on, and they have a series of floating platforms you can try to balance and cross without falling in the pool. They also have a lazy river and two huge water slides (which have a minimum height requirement of 42" and 48"). Lastly, there is an indoor pool with lots of different amenities if you need a break from the sun. It's quite the facility! It does get quite crowded though since it's the only pool in all of Sunriver. That's my only complaint. I feel like if they could build a couple more pools then it wouldn't be so crowded. It would also be nice if they had a little bit more shade. They also have nice locker rooms/bathrooms, including a couple family restrooms. The food place is decently good. It's mostly fried food and barbecue but that's pretty much what you'd expect at a giant resort like the SHARC. read more

I love the Sun River weather and access to amenities. Unfortunately, this trip flagged several issues that significantly impacted our trip. 1) Vrbo cabin had no hot water, a 3 day rental and no access to a hot shower. Vrbo is not offering any refunds, just a late check out 2) we spent 3 days at the pool and all three days portions of the pool are closed due to people pooping in the pool! Lifeguards say it's primarily babies being held in the main pool... omg- keep them in the kiddy pool! 3) Food at the Sharc was low quality, inconsistent, and the staff were rude. My order was taken incorrectly at the register... then made incorrect. When we asked about it the kitchen said- "I gave it to you how I got the order, what do you want me to do about it?" This was an adult woman, not a high school kid on a summer job. Yesterday we ordered food that was gluten free, today we order it again and it comes out breaded. No refund or apology for that mistake. The kitchen is not run by Sharc, so there was literally nobody to help. Just paid for food I can't eat. This place could be so much better. read more

I confidently give 5 stars! Here's why: To preface, yes it's expensive...(currently $30 per person) so $120 for our family of four today. But I found the value to be worth it. I'm the most anxious parent of all time, always holding my kids' hands and never taking my eye off of them..a public pool and large waterpark like this would normally be my worst nightmare. However, I felt so relaxed and comfortable here, which for me is priceless. The design of the space is open and gated and you can watch your kids from any point..the amount of staffing here is above and beyond. There are many lifeguards and staff keeping everything safe and organized. Everyone we encountered was super friendly and helpful. We took a break for lunch and for poolside food it was satisfying enough. Nothing amazingly notable, but nothing to complain about either. There is a great variety of stuff to do here. They've jam packed so much here, there is something for everyone. We saw babies playing in the baby area and elderly folks enjoying the lazy river. Between the indoor and outdoor pools..you've got a lazy river, water slides, basketball, volleyball, splash pad, floating obstacles, hot tub, whirlpool, etc. They even set up corn hole, and then later a live concert right outside in another field. Something to note is there are many more people than there are chairs, and there really isn't a lot of shade here besides a few umbrella'd spots that get snagged instantly. While you bring your own towels, it is smart to also bring your own chairs & little pop up tents/umbrellas if you can. There's a ton of grass space to set up your little spot for the day. We've loved our first family vacation at sunriver and this made our last full day a fantastic one. The perfect end to the perfect trip and we will definitely be back! read more

Fun pool but not the best run operation I have seen. We've been coming to sunriver for 40 years and the pool has always been a favorite for our family. The last few years they have told us "Lifeguard shortages" make it so that they have to limit the number of people in which results in over 2 hours of waiting to get in at times. Maybe a suggestion would be to reserve spots as to not have to have elderly and little kids standing outside in the sun for hours and hours. I get that there is staffing issues everywhere but I don't see any "hiring lifeguards" efforts around town anywhere like most employers do when staff shortage. read more

This is such a great place for families. We are three generations spending as much time as we can at this Sunriver complex. My favorite is the Lazy River, my grands love the outdoor slides and the indoor water features. During the pandemic they started a reservation system. It's still happening, but if you're new to the area you may be disappointed to find out that you need pre approved passes. They currently have three two hour sessions. You must arrive an hour before to get a timed pass, along with your SHARQ pass. Only one person needs to wait in line for your entire group. Good luck getting entry into your favorite timeframe. read more

Greed has sincerely ruined this place. To start it is $30 per person to enter. Then when you get in, it is next to impossible to find a lawn chair. Everyone is having to set up camp in the grass because there are literally not even enough chairs for even half the amount of people they let in. Which is ridiculous to me if everyone is paying $30. Then don't even get me started on the rules on food/drink. The prices are absolutely ridiculous and you cannot bring anything but water past the patio. My sister is 5 months pregnant and went up to ask for a cup of ice that she could suck on for nausea and dehydration. The employee was so unbelievably rude to her and left her in tears. I feel like kindness goes a long way, especially when you don't know someone's circumstances. I then had to go up and stand in the insanely long line for her and had to pay $2 for two cups of ice.... I was actually mind blown. Again, the greed of this company has tainted the magic this place once held for our family. read more

This place is perfect for families. The food is actually decent (for pool fare) and comes out quickly. The seating area is moderately large so we didn't have to wait long for seating. I love that they have both indoor and outdoor pools and kids areas. The pools are all heated but sometimes it's still a little cold when it's not super warm out. I wish there was a hot tub that kids could go in but I appreciate that they do have an adults only one. My kids really loved the little slide in the outdoor shallow play area (they weren't tall enough for the bigger slides). The lazy river can definitely get way too crowded but it was still very relaxing. The changing rooms were big and clean and nice. For sure a great place to vacation w kids. read more

Edit: updating my review after listening to today's board meeting. Several community members responded to the bigotry on display with letters and presentations to the Board requesting action. SROA meeting of the Board reconvened to vote on this topic today - after much (some heated) debate the motion passed to reinstate "all are welcome" sticker (no rainbow - just plain, who cares) and place prominently in ALL SROA locations (not just SHARC) AND make a huge version of the civility code for the lobby area AND sanction the homeowners who ripped the sticker down in the first place, with an official warning that if they rip anything down their privileges will be revoked *********** SHARC used to be a very welcoming environment and lots of fun for the kids. Lately, however, they have bent to the will of a small constituency of xenophobic homeowners who have torn down the "everyone is welcome here" stickers and SROA is just rolling over for these bigots by taking a "neutral" position - eg they're scared of these people and don't have the spine to stand up to them. This kind of a shift only rewards the homophobic, racist creeps intent on making everyone who isn't white and straight feel UNwelcome .... All because because the unsavory few don't want to share a pool with black people, or share a dressing room with trans people? Massive failure, SROA. Massive. Grow a pair and tell these bigots if they vandalize SHARC property they will be 86'd. There's one thing we do NOT need more of - more intolerance, more racism, more bigotry. Echoing what other reviews have stated: SHARC is expensive. The entry fee is $25 for anyone ages 4 and older. This includes parents who want to supervise their kids, but not get into the water. We've paid $100 in the past for our family of 4 to go and it takes a bit of fun out of the experience. My best tip is to find Sunriver rentals that include free SHARC passes. Many rental houses have 8-10 plastic cards hanging in their houses. Each card is good for one visit per person per day. Ask your rental companies if the houses include passes. SHARC does not allow outside food. I usually load a cooler with food, keep it in my car, and eat lunch at their picnic tables outside of the property. They have free in and out privileges. Their cafe serves burgers, wraps, and salads but I like bringing my own sandwiches, fruit, and drinks. The pool, lazy river, and slide are fun for kids - especially in the heat of summertime. As a parent, I would love if SHARC offered more umbrellas in their lawn space as it is hot and the few umbrellas they do offer are scarce commodities. In sum, SHARC is a great place to cool down. It is the only pool open to the general public at the resort so it's the only game in town. It is expensive, but you can avoid the admission fees if you rent a house with free passes. read more

Came in Friday, could not use gym, not even to buy a pass. I did have a swim pass, so I asked about that. Could not swim Friday. Asked about Saturday. They told me three times to come. Showed up and was denied, pool full. They failed to mention pre sign in arrangement they started a couple weeks ago. My kids we so bummed and they didn't even seem sorry about it! This place is mostly resident friendly. Will never do this again. read more

You wouldn't think of having a wedding at the SHARC Sunriver but you can! I have photographed two weddings here once in the winter and once in the summertime. Both was equally as gorgeous and they do block unwanted guests from entering one side of the place for just the wedding guests. The rooms are large and those vaulted ceilings! Oh my. Extremely unimpressed. It is 25. Per person to get in. There were hardly any chairs, very crowded pools, a handful of umbrellas to seek shade, and not even towel service for that price. The line to get in was very long and the gals working front desk were abrupt and short. Pretty inefficient process. The food is high priced unhealthy deep fried type food. Well scratch that - you can pay 5.95 for a small pbj. No beverages or drinks are allowed in. I ordered a cheeseburger for my son and watched several teens cook and get assorted food without gloves. I like the north pool much better and would never rent a house without included sharc passes again. For as much as it costs to rent in Sunriver you would think a pool would be included or at least for a reasonable price. We love Sunriver but this is a total turn off for us. 25 per person is unfair and ridiculous. read more

I know the pandemic has made it difficult for places like the SHARC to operate, but their current system is ridiculous. We waited in line in the hot sun for over 30 minutes just to see if we would be one of the 200 folks allowed entry. I am a retiree,own and live in Sunriver. Grandkids from 10 to 16... I watched mothers with clumsy two-year-olds...Cute little kids. Mom -- not so much... They parked 'the helicopter' on a little water bridge for an hour while the little tyke tries many many times to get across. It isn't a daycare park -- it's a family center... Like everything in Sunriver, except the river return drivers who are all personable and friendly, your Sharc experience will depend largely on the time you go and who is working. Hot peak summer day with B team life guards who literally seem to be in some sort of chlorine induced coma --it's gunna be rough. 7:30 on mid summer eve with some of the better yellow shirts running things, it's going to be great, if not a bit chilly. Sharc is overpriced even on the best days. There's no way around that. Get a condo with passes or get the multi day packs. Kids love it, adults tolerate it and teenagers abuse it. Worth noting: there are dozens of unsigned "rules" at Sharc, you're going to get yelled at, it's part of the experience. read more

For the amount of money they are charging just a small amount of investment would go a long way. Nowhere near enough shade -it's the high desert it's almost always sunny and hot. How about adding 20 or 30 more umbrellas? Maybe throw some onions and pickles on the $10 hot dog? The people who work here are nice and it seems to be well managed. read more

It's with mixed emotions that I give 1 star. The rating really depends if you can get in or not. My experience on a Sunday was getting in line at 9:40 for 10a opening meant there were 75-100 people in front of us. Wait in line 15 minutes to get in when it opens not too bad. We stayed about an hour and had such a fun time. We left and knew we wouldn't be able to come back because it was already at capacity and the most humongous line to get in. When our group of 10 walked out the people at the front cheered they had been waiting so long to get in and needed people to leave park before they were allowed in. It's a tough situation I don't know the solution but it's not a whole lot of fun to visit Sunriver and have very limited use of one of the advertised amenities. read more

Walked in with my large family group thinking we had passes to the SHARC with our Airbnb. Turns out I had the wrong place-no big deal. But the attitude of the front desk person was so off-putting, I'm actually glad we weren't welcome there. SHARC is awesome for our family! We all like something different about it. I love the water aerobics class on M-Th at 9 am and my husband does lap swimming at the same time. We're owners and so have access to the fitness center, but find we enjoy the public areas just as much. Summer is crowded, and we tend to prefer the other seasons more for SHARC usage. We also rent out our home and provide free SHARC passes to our guests (as do all Vacasa homes), and our guests often mention how much they appreciate the passes and enjoy SHARC. We are always impressed by the cleanliness of the facility and have found the front desk staff polite and professional at all times to owners and guests alike. Access to SHARC and its facilities are a big reason we purchased our home here! read more

If I could give the SHARC zero stars, I would. My daughter and her friend went THREE TIMES, and those times they were the cut off and the worst part was, on their website it claims that Sunriver homeowners (with passes) would be let in first. I guess that's not correct because both times the people in front of her were from out of state, paying with cash. The staffing was very disrespectful. The last time I was at SHARC was last year, most disgusting place I've been in. The food was nasty and overpriced. I will be telling everyone I know to spend their money somewhere worth while. read more

Now, 25 bucks a person to get in is EXPENSIVE. But I guess what they have going for them is that there really isn't much to do in Sunriver unless you want to plan or drive a ways to get there. I recommend that if you are Airbnbing a place, see if they provide the SHARC passes. Now, I am happily content staying in a nice woodsy lookin' house, reading my book and riding bikes. But I went with a large group (they did not want to be idle), we decided to hit up SHARC twice during our one week stay. At check in you walk to the desk and they put a colored wrist band on you good for that day. Then you can head to the locker rooms and shower before entering the pool. I like how the pools are heated. Most of the staff working here appear to be teens. They look incredibly bored, but they do a pretty good job of making sure everyone is safe (making sure kids aren't running around or doing anything dangerous in the water). I assumed SHARC would be a lot larger when I got there, but I guess I'm not disappointed because what more can you ask for in an aquatic center? There is plenty of room to swim around (if it isn't warm out, otherwise it gets pretty busy). I think the great thing about SHARC is that it is very clean. The facilities are great. They even have two family locker rooms, which is so convenient if you have kids! read more

Central Oregon is a paradise for outdoor activities like hiking, camping, fishing, e.t.c. But what if your two young kids want to do something else? In our case, we opted to drive from our campsite in La Pine (south of SunRiver) to go swimming at SHARC, the swim complex at Sun River resort. Parking at SHARC is pure insanity. The lot was full, 4x4s created their own parking spots up dirt berms, and some parked on planters. Drivers stalked parking spots like hungry lions would stalk delicious deer. After 15 mins of driving round and round, I finally found a spot, darting in before another glimmering, bike rack equipped mini-van could steal it from me. After dropping $100 for our family of four to swim, (that's no misprint, it was $100 for the four of us. Good thing we're made of money), we changed and made our way through the throng of humanity to the swimming pools. With no place to put our stuff, all 1500 (a rough guess) of the chairs were taken, so we put our bags on a patch of grass and went swimming. Now, if you have a rental at Sunriver, maybe it is included with your rental. This place was busy. Yes, we knew it would be..but holy cow, everybody and their dog (not literally, they don't allow dogs in the swim area) was there swimming. From the old to the young were there in the pools. You couldn't doggy paddle without bumping into someone. My 5 year old wanted to go down the non-inner tube slide. We stood in line for 15 minutes or so until we made our way to the very top, only to be told I couldn't go down with her. Preparing to comfort my disappointed daughter, I found her to be comforting me in my rising anger. It would have been nice for them to post a sign somewhere indicating that you couldn't ride together with a youngster before wasting my time waiting in line. Oh well. I could've asked. OR THEY COULD'VE POSTED A SIGN. arg. My wife and I debated the benefits of SHARC over, say a community center pool, like the ones we go to in Portland. Let's see.. they are MUCH cheaper. Less crowded, easier to park, etc. Next time, we'll find a community pool in Bend..or find a great spot along the Deschutes River to go swimming. Both are better options. As I returned to work today, a few coworkers both shared with me their dislike of SHARC. Apparently, according to one coworker, Mavericks, a less crowded pool in the fitness center at Sun River is closed. It was where those 'in the know' would swim to avoid SHARC. Bottom Line: SHARC is not worth it. read more

The facilities are very nice, especially for kids. But the prices to get in are outrages. We had discounted tickets for $13 a day. For a family of four for 5 days is $260! People with no discount pay $25! This is just to get in. And if you want yo have lunch there is another $60 per day on average. We come to Sunriver for many years, and passes to SHARC were always included in our stay. This year they've changed the rules, and only one day passes to SHARC included in a stay. My family had a BLAST at the SHARC in Sunriver! We rode bikes there and there was plenty of parking for our large party with child trailers and tag-along bikes. The admission is super expensive, probably too much, but luckily we had passes. Once inside, there were a lot of options for play outside: 2 water slides, a lazy river, 2 pools, a baby/toddler area, and a splash pad. Inside, there were two more pools. One was for volleyball, while the other had several areas: basketball, whirlpool, jetted tub, and a baby splash pad. Our favorite was the 18+ hot tub! The water in the pools was warm, we were actually cold walking outside in the air. We will return next summer for sure! read more

The facility is clean, staff is friendly and there are plenty of chairs even when it is packed. The parking lot and picnic area outside are also maintained. The restrooms and showering area was also very clean. Outside food is not permitted, but we packed a lunch and ate just outside the facility in the picnic area. The food being served inside did look delicious, it was just too expensive for our family of six. $25 per person does seem like a crazy expensive amount to pay for the size of Sharc, but people do pay for it because the place fills up! We were fortunate to have passes included with our vacation rental. The kids had an absolute blast even without being tall enough to do the slides. I couldn't get my three year old out of the lazy river. ;) We're hoping to go back another time before our vacation is over. read more

I was very pleased with the process outlined at the Sharc until we got out to leave. I'm a single mother with a six year old boy and was refused access to the girls locker room. I was told he had to go into the boys alone because he was too old for the girls. There was no way that I was comfortable with that or going to allow that to happen. I then had to ask for the manager and after our conversation I was then asked to leave and the police were going to be called because I refused to take no for an answer. Finally I was offered the family dressing room (didn't even know they had those). How easy would that option have been in the very beginning of the interaction? Nope, the Ops Manager had to make a scene in front of my child for me to then have to console him privately, as HE thought he did something wrong. read more

Has an AMAZING time visiting the outdoor swim area. Perfect for a variety of ages, very clean, and the water is kept warm! The sand area was the best I've seen with toys for the kids and lots of water pumps for sand play. read more

As homeowners, we could not possibly be more disappointed in the SHARC! Poorly managed. As homeowners on our honeymoon, we were turned away twice in one day after waiting a total of several hours!!!! Unreal after the money we are expected to fork out each season. read more

The place is somewhat clean. Bathrooms were dirty and locker room floors were disgusting. The smell of chlorine in the air is unbearable, there should be some sort ventilation. Water is also a bit cold compared to other pools. They have unreasonable $15 admission just to sit and watch your kids swim. They don't allow regular swimming diapers, but make you buy diaper cover for $8 that should be specified on their website. Towels are also not provided, for $15 admission fee they should include. Staff at the front desk are not nice, not very personable, rude. They just might treat guest to the resort bad. One of them was browsing Internet one day, second day the other one was watching a football game. Tubbing doesn't allow anyone 4 or younger which is crazy because mt bachelor's tubbing allows 3 year olds and that place seems way more dangerous. read more
