Yesterday's visit was extremely disappointing. We've been to Sharkey's several times before, including for my son's first haircut, and those experiences were great which is why this was so upsetting. The stylist did ask what I wanted, and I showed her a reference photo, yet she still used only one guard and cut his hair much higher than requested, completely missing what was shown. The haircut felt rushed, and the lineup was badly done. Most concerning of all, she cut my son's ear, which is unacceptable and a serious safety issue at a children's salon. I am uploading photos of the style I asked for, my son's hair before the appointment, and the result afterward so the difference is clear. I trusted this place with my child, but after this experience, we will not be returning. read more

March 1, 2025 My son and I just had our hair cut by Deborah. She's incredibly skilled, attentive to detail, and listens to your wants. She gave us great haircuts, and her friendly and professional demeanor made the entire experience enjoyable. The shop was clean and well-maintained, and Deborah ensured we were comfortable throughout. She even recommended some products for our hair. Ever since 2022 since I discovered this kids hair salon it has been my go to place for my toddler. The hairstylist are so professional with children and very patient. I had the opportunity to work with various of them and the one that has stood out the most has been Maria! She is God gifted woman who has magic in her hands. My son was able to stay still and get a great hair cut. I love this place and my son loves it. The setting is very welcoming and kid friendly. Way too expensive for the customer service you receive. They encourage you to make an appointment but when you show up you still have to wait for them to finish any and all walk-in's. Receptionist busy in the back with what looks like babysitting her own kids and meanders up to the front in due time to check you in. Hair cutters debate whether to take you and whose turn it is despite the fact you registered online as first available. Again way too expensive for this type of service. read more

Sharkey's was a cute place, kid friendly of course. We booked an appointment online for a first haircut for our 1 year old, they called and canceled day of which was okay. They did offer a discount due to the last minute cancellation. We went ahead and rebooked for the following day however, when we got there, it seemed very unorganized. Our son sat in the chair and waited for his haircut for quite some time when the girl came to cut his hair. We had shown her an inspiration photo. She proceeded to pay little attention to detail and completely butchered his hair we paid $40 for his haircut with the discount included. read more

This place is so cool! I would have loved to have something like this growing up. We scheduled an appointment for their grand opening. Everyone here is super friendly & make your kids feel safe & welcomed. My daughter's stylist was so sweet & got my shy kiddo to talk. There are cars for the younger kids & video games & a glam chair for the older kids. Every cut includes a wash, blow dry & "minicure". My daughter loved it! The prices are not bad too. $27 for a girls cut. I don't mind spending a little more for excellent service & a fun atmosphere. We will definitely be back for all future haircuts! read more

First attempt came home with some sort of emo bang, top-mullet where she only trimmed the back half of the top of his head. Went in for a re-do (made him wait nearly 30 minutes.) Seemed ok when we walked out. Once the hair gel she put in his hair came out we saw how crooked it is. She literally forgot to cut half of the front. He's not a fighter so I really don't know why this happened. Spent $40 on something I had to fix myself. DONT GO. I got his hair cut to clean him up for his cousins birthday party. Don't bother with this place. As a foster family, we had taken all of our kids here for their haircuts, but not anymore. We showed up 7 minute's late and were told that our spot had already been taken by someone else after 5 minutes. What? Why have appointments? Yes we were late but that is ridiculous. Traffic, dealing with young kids, construction, it just happens. But their stylists are a revolving door, you pay for a wash and they won't do it unless you force them. They suggest outrageous tip amounts in the end for a cut that for boys, maybe last 20 minutes. No thank you after this experience. This is how you treat your customers, we will go somewhere else from now on. read more

What a fun place for kids to get a haircut. They just opened last week. I got to meet the owner, Karen. Her staff Anna and Jessica were really nice. Anna cut my girl's hair and Jessica helped style her hair and painted her nails. She had so much fun. With the first girl's cut, you get a lock of hair, a certificate, a picture, wash and cut/style, a balloon, a lollipop, A ring, and a scrunchie! They get their hair cut in one of four play cars if they're little. They can watch their face disney shows and movies during the cut. If their older, they have a separate area where they can play video games while they get their hair cut. We'll definitely be back read more

Being that we are first time parents, we were so beyond excited to get our sons hair cut for the first time, the atmosphere was incredible and we were having an amazing time waiting until we were greeted by Jessica.. Actually we weren't greeted, she didn't introduce herself, she didn't ask our names, all she asked was "what do you guys want." I don't understand why we were treated the way we were, we had an appointment at 3 and were not seen until 3:20 but I honestly believe we interrupted her smoke break, but that is NOT our fault. She rushed the entire experience for us. I heard great things about sharkey's but disappointed is an understatement as to how we are feeling right now. The location looks really great for kids and is set up to be a fun environment. HOWEVER, customer service is terrible. We've been taking my almost 2 year old to an amazing barber at Gabe's Barber shop. We needed a haircut asap and couldn't get in, so we went to Sharkys. We checked in a couple minutes early at the front desk and the women told us to take a seat at one of the cars. We were sitting there there for 25 minutes while the other stylists sat near the nail polish section. I figured we were on someone else's schedule because they were just sitting there. Then another baby walked in for their first haircut and everyone flocked to them. My husband took our son to the car and I went to the desk to cancel the appointment. When I told them to cancel the women who checked us in said "Oh, you're here for ____'s haircut?!" As if we didn't check in with her in the first place. They said they could start his haircut immediately and that's when I walked out. How can you let a family sit there for 30 minutes and not even check in with them. We didn't show up just to sit in the chair!!! Working at an establishment made for kids, you should know how difficult it is to keep a toddler waiting. The fact that NOT A SINGLE PERSON checked in with us while they were sitting a couple feet away from us made me realize this place wasn't worth my time or money . We have taken our son to this place a few times and typically the haircut goes well and comes out nice. This time I'm extremely upset. We booked with Laura and she completely butchered my sons hair. I understand children move but if you're cutting a child's hair you should expect that there's going to be some movements and I get that it might not be perfect because of that but his entire haircut looks awful. I could have saved myself the money and cut my sons hair myself with the job that was done. So disappointed. read more

We decided to bring our son here for his second haircut on March 15th. The receptionist was terribly rude! We were seven minutes late and her attitude toward us was unexceptable. She could have told us that we would have to reschedule. Instead, she continued being rude and our son received a rushed haircut. We asked if our son could get a fade and it looks like a bowl cut and it is uneven. If this was my son's first haircut, this place would have ruined the special moment. I don't often write reviews on Yelp, but my wife and son's extremely negative experience warrants a warning for other potential customers. Unfortunately the stylist they worked with was very rude. (Not sure of her name, but she was wearing glasses, a baseball cap, and short hair.) Our two year old isn't a fan of haircuts and stood up when the stylist tried to put the apron on him, to which she responded in a bothered tone, "Sit down. I'm missing my lunch for this." After this encounter, it became apparent that my wife and son were not wanted at Sharkey's. The stylist was surprised when my wife decided to leave, so she told the stylist it was clear she did not want to do the haircut - which was only met with a mild shrug of agreement from the stylist. We were shocked to be met with such rudeness at a business that caters to children. We will definitely not be returning, which is a shame because we would have happily waited for the lunch break to end or returned later. read more

We have been to this salon a few times. Mostly because my daughter loves to be pampered. The thing is that it is overpriced, they up sell everything and ask your kid if they want the extras so you have to disappoint if you say No. they don't tell you that they will be charging you for all the extras until you check out. I was a bit annoyed the first time this occurred, but my daughter wanted to go back and we did it again and I knew that we would be nickeled and dimed the whole way through. I guess it would have been fine to pay for the experience if we had received quality service. We asked for a trim and they cut way too much. We also got tinsel and it literally fell out on the drive home. I found it stuck to her car seat. By day two ALL of it fell out and we are gentle with her hair. Supposedly it is supposed to last a month. She was also given a "manicure" but all they did was paint her nails, they didn't even file them straight, put lotion... I don't know, anything that resemble me an actual manicure. It was just painting her nails. So, we definitely won't go back. If I want to spend that much, I'll take her to a salon for quality service. read more
