I only go to the salon to have Lynn do my pedicure and manicures because she is quick while doing an excellent job and knows/remembers the issues I have with one of my fingers and two of my toes. Lynn is always professional, punctual, and truly cares about her work, If she doesn't like the work she does she will redo it even when I say no need. The salon is clean and Lynn is extremely careful regarding infection control. As always, I enjoy going there and chatting with Lynn and how nice my nails look. read more

It's been SO hard to find a decent, clean, and reliable place to get my nails done. I finally found a place for my manicure and gel-x sets. Kevin and Bee are great at getting me what I want for design and longevity. I've been to their shop 3 times for different designs and non of my nails have chipped OR broken since. That's been unheard of for me because usually my nails have cracked about 2.5 weeks in. Thankfully I haven't had that issue at all. They definitely know what they're doing! On the other hand, I won't be going back for pedicures because it's not the level of detail or care that I want. The clipping and cleaning was fine but I wanted them to file my toenails smoother and thinner. All nails should be as close as possible in shape and size as they can get them, but the woman that did it was not that experienced. So, overall will be back for my manicures and gel-x sets but not for my pedicures. read more

Disappointing Experience - Discriminated Against and Disrespected I visited Honey Bee Salon in Albuquerque around 12:39 PM for a pedicure. Upon entering, I was not greeted, which set the tone for the rest of my visit. The person who I assume is the owner or lead stylist asked if I had an appointment. I mentioned that I did not and simply wanted a pedicure. I was seated with my feet in extremely cold water and left waiting until around 1:05 PM before I was finally asked what color I wanted. I chose white with gel and opted for the deluxe pedicure. The service was not at all what I expected. The stylist barely communicated with me and didn't start working on my feet until 1:10 PM. Throughout the process, she seemed to expect me to read her facial expressions to know when to move my feet in and out of the water. I kindly asked if she could verbally guide me since I found it difficult to interpret her nonverbal cues. Instead of accommodating my request, she left to help other clients, leaving me with my foot out of the water for another 10-15 minutes. At that point, I decided to leave without finishing the service. What makes this experience particularly upsetting is that I had just undergone surgery related to breast cancer. I came to the salon expecting to be treated with respect and care like any other customer, but instead, I felt discriminated against because I'm Hispanic and have tattoos. As a hairdresser myself, I know the value of good service and always tip well. Unfortunately, I was treated with utter disrespect at this salon, and I cannot recommend it to anyone. read more

My regular nail tech was out of town so I had to find another salon to do my nails. I saw HoneyBee was nearby so I called and made an appointment, and they were available on the date/time I wanted. Lily did my nails with Dip polish. She was great, especially with 2 broken nails. The salon was clean, cheerful looking and everyone was friendly and courteous. Very polite staff. Was offered bottled water and cookies. Pedicure chairs all have body massage function, which was great! I got the higher-end priced pedicure, because I really wanted all my calluses worked on. Luci (sp?) who was working on my feet was very sensitive to my foot twitches (I'm ticklish) and kept asking if she had hurt me. She did an excellent job diminishing the calluses (including one on top of the knuckle of my big toe). Great foot/calf care and massage. Also got a manicure, again excellent care of nails and surrounding area. Hand massage was great. I did not get color or acrylics, so can't speak to quality of nail art. All staff wore masks and cared about my comfort. The clients mostly did not wear masks. Several 2-3 people groups including a hetro-married couple, so if any men out there would like pedicures, you would be welcome here. read more

I followed my favorite tech, Vannie, to this salon a couple of months ago. First off, Vannie is awesome in every way. She does superlative work and goes the extra mile to care about you not only as a client, but a human being. I love her. Secondly, this shop is located in a modest location, but very easily accessible. It's a ten minute drive from my home in Sawmill. What you find inside is a great vibe where the owner greets each guest and ensures you get the best care possible across the board. I dig the guitars, the music, and fun, welcoming energy of this salon. It is also, and I mean this for real, the absolute cleanest salon I've ever visited in decades of getting my nails done. There's no acrylic dust all over everything as you normally see. It's just spotless. Total thumbs up in my book. read more

This is by far the best nail salon I've found here. Anna did my nails and she was amazing. Took her time and ask my all the questions before I told her what it is I was looking for. I will be back there every time I come. The owner/ manager "B" is truly great at her job. She ask the people in the shop if they were satisfied and if not corrected it. She knows her job. The place is so clean and well maintained. I would recommend this place to anyone new to the area. I drive 30 miles because of all the reviews I read on other salons. Very nice salon, spotless and pleasantly decorated. Enough technicians that we didn't have to wait and they were not overly chatty. Should have asked the young man's name but didn't -- he did a great job on my pedicure! I was a walk-in, put in a massaging chair right away, and soaked my feet for a few minutes before my (male) technician came over. He removed the old polish and lots of callouses, nice nail trim and new polish, and also gave me a quick reflexology session on my poor abused feet. Definitely merits a return visit! read more

It is easy to book, clean, and pleasant environment. I booked a gel manicure and pedicure. First available. I would not recommend to do this. The tech was nice. However Only nail scissors used in trimming toenails and nails. For pedicure I was not sure if these were disinfected or sterilized prior to use with me. The tech cut toenails so that it is now one week later the nail going into the skin causing pain, redness, oozing. The salts and lotion are standard and fine. Heels do not really get treated well but will need care at home. For manicure the nails are slightly different lengths and shapes on different fingers. It would be wise to have a recommended technician. One of my thumbnails broke across a gel manicure after one week. Nice environment but a little after a week I have broken gel nail and infected toe. read more

Just moved to ABQ and have been doing a lot of beautiful outdoor things and unfortunately that comes at the cost of not so cute feet that desperately needed some love and attention. After checking reviews, HoneyBee seemed to be wonderful! Brought my boyfriend today for pedicures and we were so impressed! Beautiful ambiance, super kind employees, and they gave us water and snacks. We did their 5 step organic special pedicure, only $50 and complete with a paraffin wax application. I am not one to get my nails done regularly but we had a special occasion to attend and I chose HoneyBee based on the great reviews. Although I'd made an appointment, when I showed up I felt like a rushed "walk-in" client. They were not very friendly, but then again, I was not one of their known "regulars". Most of the time I was in the chair, the operator chatted in a foreign language with the other operators and was pretty rough with my hands. I certainly didn't get the feeling I was a valued customer! I spent quite a bit of money to get gel nails because they look so nice. Two weeks later after they had grown out and were ready for a fill, I chose to remove them myself (something I've done before by soaking them in remover). They wouldn't come off but after I'd spend so much for poor treatment, I refused to return to pay them even more more to take them off for me! I eventually worked them loose but my nails were in such bad shape, it took 6 months for them to grow out again. I will never return to this salon and cannot recommend them. read more
