Awesome experience at Sharkey's! Took my two year old in for a much needed cut. He was very excited to sit in the cars and not so excited to get his haircut. Somehow, Erica made it happen! I was so impressed how fast, yet thorough she was. Even though my son was actively saying "don't cut my hair", she was able to distract him just enough and still make him feel comfortable to get the job done. The staff was very good about keeping the salon clean and organized. All of the ladies there were super friendly. My son's cut was $32 but I felt like it was worth it for the experience we had. The salon is a little overstimulating, lots of sounds and TVs and toys and balloons and vacuum/blow dryer sounds. Even though I felt a little overwhelmed, whatever it was worked and we got out of there with my son's hair being cut. I really appreciated how Erica was checking in to see if I wanted to change anything about his haircut. My son was super pumped about the police car, firetruck, Lighting McQueen car, as well as the jeep. He wanted to sit in them all! I also was happy to see that they had seatbelts inside. I came back three years later--with a new child--and had a far better experience than I did in the past. The last time I visited was during the height of COVID, when things were understandably different, but now they've returned to their usual warm and welcoming way of doing things. This time, I brought my two-and-a-half-year-old son in for his very first haircut. His hair had grown quite long, and while we knew it was time for a trim, it was really important to us to keep his beautiful curls. We were lucky enough to have Gayane as our stylist, and she was absolutely wonderful--so patient, gentle, and kind. Love this place, we found it while looking for something my two year old son would tolerate. We felt the atmosphere might help him get through the haircut easier. The shop is in a busy little Shopping center but there is plenty of parking and a bunch of places to eat and things to see. The decor is super kid friendly, the car seats and gaming consoles were so cool. My son had previously struggled to get through the cuts fighting off the stylist so we were nervous but hopeful. Christine came in and gave him the best cut we could have imagined in what seemed like no time at all, she interacted with him a lot and worked quickly but safely. Wow! This place really exceeded my expectations. First off i did not have an appointment yet they were able to schedule within an hour for my twin boys. My kids do not like getting their hair cuts but Marina & Gayane both made my boys feel so comfortable even though it wasn't easy handling them and their cries. They also made sure to talk them through it all. I really appreciate both their patience so much. I've been to other places where the hairstylist could care less but again Marina and Gayane made sure to take care of them and make them feel special.
