Love this bar and their food. They have very good wings and burgers, and always make great cocktails. Their BOGO burger deal on Mondays doesn't hurt either. Even when it's crowded, the service is relatively good, and I really like the music posters around the area. There are some pool tables in the back, but good luck to you if you want to play on weekend nights, as the line fills up pretty quickly. To start, this place has a very large menu with options that can fit just about any craving you may have. There are also a lot of drink choices for those of age. We went with the 20% off boneless wing deal for Sundays, where we got a large and did half regular bbq and half garlic bbq. We also ordered a basket of fries, which is big enough to share between 3-4 people. The food here is always amazing and the wings have good flavor and a good amount of sauce. We also ordered the Shark Juice drink, and it was amazing! Very reminiscent of an island drink with a lot of coconut/fruit taste. This place has a great bar setting with a lot of TVs to watch any game you want. It's a little dark during lunch hours but other than that the ambiance is great. Service has always been amazing and I have never had a bad experience with any waiter/waitress!! I love this place. It has become my go to for food and drinks when I am in Blacksburg. I have never had a negative experience when here. The bartenders have all been wonderful and made sure an empty glass is quickly refilled. I've tried the burgers, wraps, the club sandwich, and it's all been delicious. Sometimes I'll order just the tots as an appetizer, and I can't finish them. I try to go when students are gone, so I can't say what it's like when they're in, but during the summer it's relaxed with great food and great service. read more

Cannot believe I haven't reviewed Sharkeys yet. Dare I say my favorite bar in Blacksburg. Great happy hour 4-9pm with nicely priced drinks. Also their food is pretty good especially at night. You can get a free drink glass on your birthday and the outdoor space is awesome for hanging out when the weather is nice. If I could change anything about the establishment, I would add 10 more girls bathroom stalls as line gets long at night. read more

The worst experience I've had with costumer service in years. the Bartender and manager told me that I had to finish my drink before I could close my tab. I told her I didn't think that was legal and she said "it's policy". I came back the next day and she said, " I was sober I'm not sure about you so I think you made a mistake" And "I've been doing this for 10 years I wouldn't make that kind of mistake." For an establishment that is as filthy as this one, I'm shocked the food was as good as it is. The dining tables were extremely sticky and felt like they had never been wiped down, ever. It was pretty uncomfortable to be honest because no one wanted to touch the table. The bathrooms were literally the most disgusting bathrooms I've ever countered. There were about 30 flies just buzzing around in there, trash everywhere, doors don't work and it smells like sewage. In Blacksburg to see daughter, went in for lunch on patio. Young man at door said it was ok to have dog on patio. Went to patio, with dogs then was told my daughter under 21 was not allowed. This is a restaurant? After multiple requests spoke with Mgr who was polite! But the young boy, maybe 21 working the door was extremely rude to us. What happened to respect your elders? Horrible. Went to the one in Radford a few months ago & had a horrible experience. Because of our experience we were given a gift certificate. Tonight we decided to try & use it at the Blacksburg location. We walked in at 5:45 behind a few other parties. The girl behind the counter looked at us like we were crazy (I'm guessing because we were a family of 4 with 2 kids). She immediately told me they were full. She didn't ask if we wanted to wait or anything. I asked her, well can we be put on a wait list & wait & she told me no. I am a senior at Virginia tech and I have worked in customer service for 8 years. tonight I went to sharkeys to have dinner with a couple of girlfriends and at the end of the night a friend of mine need a box. she kindly asked the waitress but our waitress was pretty busy so she forgot, it happens. we were in a bit of a rush so I decide to ask another waitress passing by. I asked the waitress if she could possibly grab a box for us as our waitress had forgotten. she gave me a rude "yeah in a couple of minutes" but I didn't take it to heart because I could tell she was busy and I decided to instead ask the bartender behind the bar if he could grab a box when he had a moment, he kindly said yes. when I turned around the waitress was standing there and slammed a box onto the table saying "stop asking everyone for a box or you are going to get a million fucking boxes" stunned I said wow. I then turned to my friends in shock and turned back to the waitress and said "that is just great customer service" and turned back to my friends when she walked away again, stunned and said what a bitch because truly I had never been treated that way. the waitress continued to come behind me and yell to get the fuck out and scream that line continuously while also saying I was getting kicked out. the bouncer asked what was going on and the waitress said "she's screaming to everyone that I'm a bitch so she's out" and the bouncer nodded I said to the bouncer "I called her a bitch because she was screaming at me and had terrible customer service. " and walked away. I have tried to call sharkeys 10 times tonight and can't get through to talk to anyone. I love sharkeys but I am very disappointed and still shocked by this experience. RUDE WAITRESS. we had asked our server for a box bus she was closing and obviously busy so we asked another waitress, ashlynn, if she could grab us a box whenever she gets the chance and she looked very flustered and said "yeah in a few minutes" in a little bit of a rude tone but no worries we're asking a favor. since she seemed preoccupied we decided to ask the bartender if they just had a box back there we could get when ashlynn comes storming back up, throws the box down and says and i quote "if you're going to ask everyone for a box you're gonna get a fucking million boxes." very aggressively. so the person with us said "wow. ok. great customer service" and then turned to us and said "she was being a bitch" to which the waitress said "if you're gonna fucking call me a fucking bitch you can get the fuck out now" and followed us to the door and fudged the story to the bouncer to where he was also telling us to get out. if she's treating us like this at 7 pm, i can only imagine she gets more and more aggressive throughout the night. something needs to be done about her. read more
