Dr. Ruiz makes it a breeze. I couldn't be happier with the ease of getting a tooth crowned this year, after I waited years to get it done (because I had a difficult experience getting crowns at another dentist's office years ago.) Another tooth began to be uncomfortable when I bite down, so I returned for an exam, thinking I might need another crown, but Dr. Ruiz will reinforce my molar with a filling to extend its life. I love that conservative approach in extending a tooth's life as long as it's reasonable to do so. So glad I found this office. The staff are so skilled, simply the best. Dr Ruiz said I needed a filling replaced. When I arrived for the procedure, she provided an inadequate amount of numbing medication and did some filing down of the original filling. Only afterwards did she tell me the filling did not need to be replaced. She overcharged me with a generic code and then did not provide the discount per my discount plan. I never needed to go in for the appointment. When I asked for the discount plan reduction in price, she refused. Very disappointed. read more

This may be a long review because I was seen here three times. The first time I came in for an exam and cleaning and honestly I had a great experience. The entire staff was polite and funny. I had some cavities on my exam so I made an appointment to get them taken care of. After my second appointment I thought they did a wonderful job. I was given a blanket and a pillow once again everyone was friendly. The problems started the following day when I woke up with a lot of pain in my tooth that just had a filling. Each time I would bite down hurt. I couldn't chew anything on that side of my mouth. I called that day and spoke with the receptionist I let her know Wednesdays were my day off. She said they'd squeeze me in on Wednesday and my bite was probably just not correctly aligned and it would take no longer than five minutes so I could come in anytime and they'd get me seen just to call when I was on my way. Wednesday morning I called to let them know I was coming in. The receptionist said she couldn't see me and I'd need to wait until next Wednesday. By the next Wednesday I'd been in pain for two weeks. I couldn't chew on that side of my mouth at all. I get in and the filling had chipped so she replaced the filling. She said if I was still having pain to come back and made me an appointment in three weeks in case it still hurt. Once again the following day it hurts to bite down. I call the office the receptionist tells me I have an appointment in three weeks and to avoid solid food until then! Follow up to five days after the filling was redone and it fell out! I was having my coffee and it fell out! Of course her office is closed Mondays so I had to go to another dentist to fix it and thank God I did! When they did the exam they found two additional cavities on the tooth that she filled. The dentist was shocked that they hadn't been filled and said that one of them was so bad it could have been a root canal sooner than later if it went without a filling due to it's placement. When doing the filling they noticed that the tooth next to the filling also needed a filling. The new dentist was shocked since two of the cavities were visible without x-rays. Will most definitely not be returning. Dr. Ruiz was very nice and polite but I had nothing but pain from this office. read more

Dr. Ruiz and her staff are like family, not only are they professional and extra clean but the amount of real true care and quality they continuously give me as their patient is seriously something I have never found with any other doctors office of any kind. Dr. Ruiz has been a blessing in disguise. She has worked with my budget and has continuously been supportive and understanding of my needs and the level of care and treatment I get has been so good and consistent that even now as an out of network provider with my insurance I am not willing to find a different dentist. I had been going to a dentist office in San Marcos for years but things started to change and the same people weren't there anymore. I wasn't really liking how the office was becoming and plus I had been wanting to find a dentist closer to me anyways since it was totally out of the way for me, so my boyfriend recommended me this office and I'm so glad I went! The office was very clean and the staff was friendly. Lauren did my cleaning and she was super nice. I was in a bit of a rush due to being called into work early and she was understanding and super mindful when I asked if there was anyway we could get me out by a certain time. Dr. Sharla and her Fabulous staff are the pinnacle of heights among dentistry not just in Southern California but world wide. In ways she can be assimilated with the musician Carlos Santana who many did not know was a perfectionist. When his band members did a good job he was complimentary and chill. When their work was less than expected his sentiment was clear that it had to be corrected and done right! When in her chair I see her staff working diligently to please her and in turn it pleases me. I've been to lesser dentists. As a former Navy Veteran I have traveled the world and had work done by several different dentists on ship and lands afar and unfortunately even other local dentist cannot hold a candle to Dr. Sharla and her crew. Life at times throws a curve ball when it time to change dental offices. Dr Sharla Ruiz and her assistance were completely willing to assist all my insurance needs while we spoke over the phone. Kimberly the hygienist did a magnificent job thoroughly paneling and cleaning my teeth. She has a very gentle touch and since I have a small mouth, I was able to stay relaxed. The office atmosphere is peaceful and modern and I loved the 70's classic music. Can not recommend Dr. Ruiz enough. I was a bit skeptical because of bad past experiences with medical and dental care, particularly in Fallbrook, and she truly exceeded my expectations. I called in with excruciating tooth pain and she got me in immediately. All of her staff had extremely great customer service, possibly the best I've ever experienced! They confirmed I needed a root canal and already had an appointment for me to transfer straight over to an Endodontist. You won't regret it! Her office was quick to get me in after my initial call and even called me the day after my exam to get me in for some work following a cancellation. The staff is INCREDIBLY friendly and helpful! I cannot say enough at how pleasant and helpful this office has been! I recently moved to California and needed a dentist to finally get some work done that I wasn't able to take care of before because of my job. Even as a kid, I've constantly had issues with dentists. I have been in the dental feild for over 11 years. I have had cavities since then! I know better than to WAIT. Waiting allows for a root canal and crown in the near future, no thanks! Unfortunatley I have not been able to find a dentist. I have high fear of needles, HIGH FEAR! I also know how hard it is to get a great restoration done that will last for YEARS! So I have NO TRUST.
