Had to come here to have a second opinion about my body and was referred here. To make an appointment was a bit far out since the Dr had many patients to attend to. The front desk person was very kind and very sweet and easy to make an appointment. It's a lil confusing to get here since on Apple Maps it shows a different location which is right next door but that's why you have to read the buildings to ensure you are at the right location. The MA was very sweet and easy to talk to! She was super nice and gathered all the information she needed for the doctor. She informed me that doctor will be in shortly. Finally meeting the doctor she explained to me everything and helped me understand what's going go on with my body. She asked me to follow up in a month or so to see any changes. She was very helpful and very informative about a woman's body. The only downside, I've been here a couple of times and both times the doctor was running behind. I totally understand but you always have to inform the patient that the doctor is running behind because the patient's time is valuable too. I sat there waiting 45-1 hour, not cool. read more

This one star is for the staff. Made a video visit this morning. Waited 35 minutes and still nothing, so I called the office only to be told that there will be no appointment because" the appointment slot time is only 5 minutes, you need to be seen more than that and I will tell the administrator" . What kind of customer service is that? She's losing potential new client because of her inept staff. A text or email would have been nice instead of sitting here waiting for nothing. I was thinking about this recently and honestly the doctor was decent. Short and professional but decent. However, after I gave birth to my daughter (like literally a week maybe) I went in for a follow up. I was all alone and exhausted and was called back by the office manager/doctors husband. My mom tried to come with me but he made me leave her and my daughter in the waiting room. He took me to a back room where he insisted I pay my balance in that moment. I was a new mom. I would've been open to a payment plan. Anything. But he comments on how was I going to be mom if I couldn't pay this bill. Just standing there tearing me apart over a goddamn doctors bill. Sitting there crying and alone I paid everything I had in my account. The experience was trash. Idc how good a doctor is. That has stuck with me for years. Get help dude. read more

The two young ladies in her office are very profesional and helpful. The Doctor is knowledgeable but did not make me feel comfortable. This is my first pregnancy and I was very excited for any appointment that had to do with my pregnancy but she did not make me feel comfortable to ask questions. What I would like to give zero stars to is the billing department which is ran by her husband Fernando Anthony Edwards. I was ultimately charged for 5 visits but really only had 2 and I have proof due to payment statements from them. The other three statements even had the "amount of time" I spent with the Dr. Which was false.. the three visits were for the month of Dec. which is the only month I was uninsured due to transitioning into my husbands insurance. The dates were within days from each other. (Weird for someone in their first trimester. ) After my husband spoke to the "office manager" in person and proved we never attended these dates. He signed them off (on a notice the Dr wrote out per my husbands request) and stated they would be cleared and blamed it on their previous employees stating they were stealing from them. Which I don't believe one bit because they were made out by the facility and he first tried to explain that that I did owe them and his wife (the Dr.) wrote the statement out for me. All I know is it was cleared according to him but I will have to follow up with my insurance to see if that is true. For my reference I googled the Office Managers name and saw that he was disbarred from Ca. Bar association Due to embezzlement. This was all public records and from my personal experience with him I don't feel comfortable with him working in the billing dept. In my experience I had a lot of headaches trying to get them to refund my money.. (you will be lead in circles). Even getting my medical documents transferred was a headache with lots of missing information. So now I have to retake a lot of tests. Update: Part two. The Husband has sent me a private message threatening to sue me due to this post. I have false charges which led to us receiving our signed refund from you personally Sir. read more

I should have shared this years ago, but it was too painful to put out there for the public eye. Dr. De Edwards ignored my symptoms and blamed my complaints on my parent having cancer and dismissed me from doing any simple testing. I had no idea that female pain should be looked at with ultrasound. I trusted her and did not know to ask for further help. I learned a valuable lesson from this relationship. Listen to your body and go to someone who will listen. Do not be pushed to the side. When I was in miserable pain I went back to her and had a very large growth that engulfed half of my reproductive system. I then had to endure a c-section to deliver my right ovary and tube. Plus, 4 more years of surgeries and IVF to try to have a family. Her support staff treated me horribly post surgery and made me feel like a nuisance. There was no empathy. 11 years later and I am able to confidently and honestly post this to hopefully help someone. I ended up going to an amazing clinic in San Ramon for all my gyn care and was able to successfully have 1 pregnancy thanks to them. The bright side is now I advocate for myself and refuse to take any physician's excuses. They simply have more education, but that does not mean they are 100% accurate. read more

The events are exactly as it occurred in s truthful voice with honest intentions. You know this is going to bad when the patient is still angry 26 years later! I just have never found a way to express the frustration in my terrible experience until I somehow ran across the fact that she is still practicing and I could still leave a review. I was a Kaiser patient in labor on September 30, 1997 when unfortunately for me, the Walnut Creek facility turned us away and sent us to Sutter Delta in Antioch. I had had two babies before, and in spite of trouble free pregnancies, my labors were extremely painful. I had a late epidural with my first after 19 horrible hours of no pain meds,and with my second, I was told he was coming too fast in spite of 2 hours of pure hell. So, coming in for number 3, I knew I wanted an epidural. I had been there, done that, and I knew what I wanted. Natural childbirth is not for me. But could I get one? No. Dr De Edwards said "I don't like to do them". Well, look lady, YOU have a 10 lb 9 oz baby with no drugs! Because that's what you made me do. I suffered for hours. I begged for relief but I got nothing. I guess I was a spineless 37 year old and didn't make enough demands.But I don't think it would have made a difference because she didn't care. Thank goodness I am older and wiser now and I will never allow that to happen again. Looking back I should have walked out and had the baby in the parking lot because it would have been just as comfortable. It could have been a wonderful experience but it was overshadowed by her cruel and uncaring demeanor. It traumatized me so much that when I became pregnant again at 40, I was terrified that I would receive the same type of treatment again. So at every appointment, I asked, can you please write in the chart that I am requesting an epidural? I was suffering from intense trauma after that horrific experience. Fortunately, the kind people at Kaiser took good care of me and did not let me suffer for a moment. What is kind of interesting is that shortly after that horrible experience, i read in the paper that a women in So Cal had sued a hospital because she was denied an epidural due to having no insurance. I HAD insurance. I was denied care for no reason. I was too busy with a newborn at the time but I often wonder if I should have pursued litigation. Too late now...but apparently not too late to leave a review. read more

I have had great experiences each time I visited the office. I came to her practice after having some extremely bad visits with another OBGYN in Antioch. I was previously feeling stressed out and scared, but she put my mind at ease and helped me feel more secure. Though I did end up losing the baby, I still feel extremely lucky to have found Dr. De Edwards' practice. I am still in mourning, but I know that she will see me through any future pregnancies with patience and care. read more

UPDATE!!! In response to her response what she stated is simply not true. I actually received a call from her Administrator yesterday 3/7/22 who asked to explain the situation and when I did he AGREED that the staff handled me and my situation incorrectly and that they were responsible for misinforming me. He said me finding out the Dr was out should have been handled differently as well as the whole prenatal pill situation and the information I got. He said he would talk to the doctor and get back to me. Today he called back and said the doctor says since you want to be seen on Fridays she cannot accommodate you (but they are open on Fridays so why not?) clearly the docor just dosnt want to see me because she is upset I told the truth in my review. In her response to my review she states that I insisted on a Friday visit only thats not all the way true. When first trying to get an appointment I wanted any day but they were still so far out. The Friday thing came about later when my work schedule changed. I had called several times trying to get an appointment before I finally got one And the assistant originally told me they were closed Fridays which was false, she also stated that they were not aware I was seen by another doctor that is false also the assistant who made my appt knew before I arrived when making my appointment I discussed this with her shr even asked who the doctor was and when I told her she stated she knew him. Also her not being at my appointment wasnt the issue again it is how it was handled just as her administrator who called me stated. I should have been told either before my appt or when I arrived not after im already sitting in the doctors room being screened by the assistant an the appointment is coming to an end. Aslo the way she says the prenatal pill convo went is false. I called asking for some the assistant asked for my pharmacy said she would inform the dr to send them, called back 20 mins later saying sorry we can't send them untill you come in for your first appointment there was never talk about me getting samples in the mean time or anything of that sort it was when I responded why if I already came in the assistant states that they dont really give prescriptions amd to buy them over the counter another thing the administrator who called me stated was false info. Just wanted to cleae up the lies stated. clearly the Dr and her assistants are not on the same page and thats were all the misinformation is coming from and of course as a dr she has to respond with whatevwe makes her office look good wether its the truth or not. Sucks she is treating patients this way its who are in need of prenatal care. Again she is the ONLY FEMALE DOCTOR IN pittsburg or surrounding areas who take the insurance so when her office messes up on there end and refuse to see you you are just out of luck with your prenatal care and have to drive miles and miles outside of your city. Dr De Edwards obgyn in pittsburg..shes great her office staff is unprofessional, inefficient and lacks knowledge of proper office procedures. example, waiting til the time of ur appt to verify eligibility, blaming patient for not knowing benefits, ( which i know thouroughly), being rude and having a horrible attitude loud enough for people to hear. my appt was at 9 and ive sat here for 30 mins listening to them try and do what i did the first 5 mins i was here. I gave him the correct ph # and he refuses to hang up and call because he says hes gonna do to them what they are doing to him..wtf now hes yelling at office staff in front of us! I didn't get into a room for almost ninety minutes past my appointment time and i arrived fifteen minutes early. Dr. de Edwards assisted on a gynecological surgery performed by my primary obgyn doctor in December 2013. I never met her since I was already under anesthesia when she helped with the procedure. I have no complaints about the medical care. There were some issues with the insurance billing done by her office. I have very good health insurance through Aetna. The issue seems to pop up every 3-6 months where either I get a bill in the mail or where I get a call from collections. I call her office and try to resolve. I think it's resolved, only to get another call in 3-6 months. It is very bad to have something go to collections since it shows negatively on your credit report. It impacts your financial life - mortgage rates, auto loan rates, credit cards rates, etc. My insurance company has never said that they won't pay, but that the billing was done wrong. This is very frustrating and I would not go to Dr. de Edwards for this reason alone since the billing department seems to be unable to get this resolved. read more

I became a patient two years ago and liked the doctor, but really wasn't fond of the staff. Then Dr De Edwards changed her staff and the nurse and receptionist are lovely now. It's like a whole new practice! Dr De Edwards delivered my son, she was thorough and kind at every step. I highly recommend this practice now. I forgot her office address, so, I came to this site to find her address and saw the previous reviews and shocked by others experience with Dr. edward. I have been with Dr. Edward for five years. She really is one of the best doctors I have known. She takes care of me as her own family member. Her office staff are very sweet. They follow up with me on all results. Dr. edward changed her office address a year ago and her staff are different (I guess it is because of the moving) The new staff are try best keeping up with their work.
