MAVH took my call and gave me an available appointment 30 mins later without hesitation, sparing me a long wait and high expense at a walk-in emergency clinic further away. They diligently listened to a summary of her medical history, assessed her current situation, and provided the necessary treatment (sedation, x-rays, enema, blood test, senior wellness check, etc). All staff were warm, helpful, friendly - and kept us informed throughout the almost 2 hr duration of our visit, with the total cost falling below the initial estimate provided. The post-visit follow-up also meets expectations, and I am VERY satisfied. It is so rare to find a vet that will take a new patient in a crisis situation - and then to be so compassionate and informative throughout the ordeal leaves me thoroughly impressed - HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Will return. My sincerest thanks to everyone there for exceeding expectations and simply being amazing!

It is amazing how they combine the efforts of volunteers and private donations to fund the facility, pay for veterinarians services, and feed the hundreds of cats, dogs and other small animals. The tour provided insight and some heartbreaking realities of animals caught in harmful situation who are rescued, including hundreds of cats from hoarding environments. We had a chance to visit a few of these amazing kittens, in addition to playing with some of the amazing dogs. You truly garner an appreciation for those incredible folks who dedicate their lives to serving the pet population. If you have an opportunity, pay the OPSCA for a visit. There are opportunities to foster and/or adopt a pet (after some personality testing for the right fit) and maybe make a small donation. What an incredible experience and a must for anyone who loves animals! Zuk

Shes very quite she only get nervous around new vet if im not with her, having a muzzle on her. Who wouldn't get nervous in that environment. If I had come in she wouldn't have get stressed. I wondered and asked if they will kick out stray dogs if they bark at all and their answer was "we are separate from SPCA and we are private" Very unprofessional and overall very disappointed in my visit.
