For what it is (a small mom & pop place built from love, but not necessarily money) it was more than adequate. The heater was super warm which was nice. The fireplace was not a true "toss in the logs" type. The tub, I believe, used well water so there was always iron oxide hanging out (it looked like I was a frequent spray tanner.) I swear there was no way it was dirty. (In other words, fellow germaphobes, don't panic.) I wish it had more windows so I could have read in the tub. Lighting was not as strong as I would have liked. The ladybugs were wintering (to be expected in most cabin type places) inside and were extra friendly and a constant reminder spring was close at hand. I prefer fluffier pillows (Walmart wasn't far so we made a quick trip there for snacks and pillows.) It was a place to honestly do little more than veg. I needed it. There was satellite TV, small fridge and microwave. There was also strong 3G (at least) signal. No wifi. Also, if you want to take time to watch old VCR movies, they have a player. (Maybe consider leaving them behind if you won't be watching them again and help them build a library.) Don't miss breakfast at The Rose Garden. It reminded me of staying with grandma on the farm. It was large enough for breakfast, and we took left over steak and biscuits for a lunch snack all for under $8. There were woods behind us. We enjoyed watching the birds play in the leaves. The TTU arts center was nice to visit. Again, a great place to just get away. If you don't want the outside world to intrude, keep the TV off and turn off the cell phone.

We learned upon arrival that this area is also home to the annual Bonaroo music festival, and we were told a lot of the musicians often stay here. So... this hotel is perhaps afforded a bigger budget than your typical Comfort Suites. All of that to say, this is a totally decent hotel - and I have very high standards. So our room was the kind with a separate bedroom and a living room with a door in between, so it worked perfectly for us (I like to sleep and my husband is a night owl). The room was quiet, comfortable and clean. The staff here was really great, and there is a Starbucks within spitting distance. Would absolutely stay here again.

The initial booking interaction with the front office manager was excellent, and she went out of her way to make sure we were familiarized with the property, how to get in and out of the coded gate, and where to find our documents/keys, etc. as we were checking in late upon arrival. The cabin was beautiful, if not a tad outdated in the typical "Gatlinburg mountain-style" motif, and was settled nicely by itself without an immediate neighbor, so we felt very comfortable, secluded, and able to fully relax - the ideal weekend getaway environment! What was even better was the pricing. Our cabin was a 2 bedroom, 3 bath, fully stocked kitchen with all appliances, dishware, silverware, etc, and a living room area with 2 couches, a lounge chair, including a flat panel with tv access, and all across 2 stories. Everything was very well cleaned, the loft area was beautiful, and even had an in-room whirlpool-jetted tub. Everything they said they'd do, they did. Great service, nice location very close to the Fall Creek Falls State Park, and within 15 mins either way of the nearest town for additional options. Overall, we'd most certainly visit here again the next time we're looking for a hike along the beautiful falls nearby!

This building in 1986 was once a grocery store & barroom. Then the Obey River Inn opened in 1996. Rachel & Alex bought it in 2020 and personally did the majority of the renovations!
