On Friday, August 14, 2026. This incident happened at my house in my room at 10:30 AM in the morning. I had taken one Benadryl Prescription Capsule the night before due to an Allergy I was healing from on my left arm. When I had woken up at 10:30 AM I slept in that day on Friday. My has 2 Mattresses on my bed because a former tenant (Travis) put another extra mattress on my bed for more comfort. This blanket I was using that night was wrapped around my waist. I unfortunately was too close to the edge on the left side of my bed. Then I tried to get up from my bed. I fell off the bed and I hit my Head really Hard on the tile floor. I couldn't get up because I injured the back of my head, my neck , and my lower back when I fell off my bed. My Apple IPhone XR was being charged on my dresser that was located on the opposite side of my bed. I was in excruciating pain and I laid down on the floor in my room from (10:30 AM to 12:30 PM ) for 2 long hours. I live with a Group of 3 people. Their names are Michelle, James and Sharon. All of these (3 people) have (severe Mental Health Conditions). I am the only person who lives there without a mental illness. No one could help me to get up and off from my bedroom floor. Everyone was in their separate bedrooms. After 2 hours later at 12:30 PM. I had the strength to roll over on my right side even though I was in excruciating discomfort. I used my knees and then I put both hands on top of my bed then I had to pull my body up so I could sit down on my bed. I could barely move . Then I was able to get my Apple IPhone XR . I sent a message to Michelle who I am her part time Caregiver 3 days a week working in the house. I told Michelle who was in her room. I tried sending Michelle a text message telling her that I fell off my bed and I hit my head very hard on the floor. I asked Michelle to come into my Room and to help me get up off the floor and out me in my bed. Michelle didn't respond back to my 2 text messages I sent yo GM her on my Apple IPhone XR. Michelle didn't respond back not help at all. At that time, I had to call the 911, Emergency Dispatch Services at 1 PM to send an Ambulance out to my house to transport me to Sharp Memorial Hospital. The AMR Ambulance arrived at my house within 15 minutes. I was still in my room laying down because I was in too much pain and I couldn't walk. Steve this veteran paramedic was very caring and very experienced with the situation with my Fall Incident. Eduardo was new abd training to become a paramedic Wyeth the assistance of a trainer Lauren. Steve said he is going to put a Neck Brace on my neck and he also got a backboard to use when Lauren and Eduardo brought the gurney into my room. Steve, Edwardo, and Lauren took the sheets off my bed with me lying down on them. The safest method for me and them was to transfer me to the gurney from my bed using my bed sheets. Then I was placed into the AMR Ambulance and then I asked to be transferred to Sharp Memorial Hospital on Friday, August 14, 2026 . I arrived at the Hospital at 1 PM. I got an available bed in the Emergency Room within 10 minutes if my arrival time at 1:10 PM. Nurse Megan set me up with a Heart Monitor Machine and my Blood Pressure was taken every 15 minutes. The nurses station was monitoring my Blood Pressure and also checking my Heartbeats to make sure I was okay . The tech. Evan came in and he gave me 3 Warm Blankets he put over me to keep me warm . Then Dr. Byron Buckley the Emergency Room physician examined my Head, Neck, and my lower back with his hands. Then he used his stethoscope to hear my heart rate and to check if my heart rate was on the normal level. Dr. Buckley told me he had ordered me to take a CAT SCAN without Contrast Dye on my Head, Neck, and my Spine. I was taken by Evan the tech. to the CAT SCAN Room to get prepared to take this CAT SCAN Test on my Head, Neck, and my Back. The results showed I don't have no fractures and I don't have any Broken Bones. Plus I didn't take my Blood Thinner on Thursday, August 13, 2026 all day. The Good News was I didn't receive No Bleeding in my Brain. But I did receive a lot of Bruising to the back of my Head. I also sprained my Neck and I injured my Lower Back. I have to use a cane to walk around outside. Dr. Byron Buckley said it's going to take me several weeks or longer to fully recover from my Head Trauma with my sprained Neck and bruised Back. Dr. Buckley has prescribed for me to take Tylenol @ 325 Milligrams 2 pills once every (4 to 6 Hours) for my pain relief. Dr. Byron Buckley and his Medical Team did a very thorough analysis on my Head Injury plus everyone was very helpful and caring to my serious medical condition. read more

Very disappointing experience with Sharp. I was with Scripps for many years and switched to Sharp when I went on Medicare. I like my primary care doctor, but my last two experiences with Sharp's eye department have been extremely frustrating. At my first appointment, I arrived 20 minutes early as requested, yet waited about 25 minutes past my appointment time just to get into a room, followed by another 20-minute wait for the doctor. I was then told I needed dilating drops, which added another 20-30 minutes. I was never told beforehand that this would be necessary. Yesterday, I arrived 15 minutes early for another eye appointment and waited 45 minutes without being seen. When I asked the front desk when I might be called, they couldn't give me any idea. The staff member was also very unfriendly and seemed bothered that I was asking. I drove all the way from Cardiff for the appointment and ultimately left without being seen. I understand that doctors can run behind, but patients deserve communication and basic courtesy. After these two experiences, I am extremely disappointed with Sharp. read more

Excellent care, attentive and quick with process and results. Came to the ER while on a short vacation and my mom was having an issue. They took her in and out for tests, cleared out the ER fast. She wa diagnosed after a CT scan and they decided to admit her. She got a room within 20 minutes and all staff and nurses explained everything and what they were doing very clearly. The care I've experienced was great. Nurses and doctors were great and kind. BUT There was a lot of waiting. I think it was because the hospital was so full. I was in a room in Mary Birch because there was no space for me in the actual hospital. Doctors had to trek far to get to me. I spent majority of my time waiting for doctors to come and discuss my condition. I could have had a shorter hospital stay, and smaller bill, if I didn't spend so many hours just waiting. read more

Her demeanor, cheerfulness and helpfulness is outstanding in the most stressful situation (anyone undergoing surgery - big or small could relate to this). She was so pleasant and respectful to all the patients and family members arriving. From registration to the IV, preop nurses - everyone was so kind and privacy protected. I am extremely disappointed and concerned about the treatment my mother has received in the ICU at Sharp Memorial Hospital. My mother recently suffered a stroke, and the left side of her body is swollen and numb. Despite her condition and need for assistance, there have been multiple occasions when we feel she has not been treated with the level of care, attention, and compassion she deserves. When our family is not present, she has been left sitting in a chair for more than 30 minutes, to the point that she fell asleep in the chair. Given her medical condition and the weakness and numbness on her left side, this is extremely concerning to our family. There have also been instances where she has asked for cold water and has instead been given warm water, despite specifically requesting cold water. While this may seem like a small issue, when a patient is already vulnerable and dependent on staff for basic needs, repeatedly refusing or disregarding simple requests can be very upsetting. One of the most frustrating parts has been trying to reach the ICU by phone when my mother calls us crying because she feels that staff are being rude to her or refusing to provide the assistance she needs. There have been times when we have called the department trying to check on her or get help, and our calls have not been answered. No family should have to worry about whether their loved one is being treated with dignity and compassion when they are not physically there. We understand that hospital staff are busy and that caring for patients is difficult, but that does not excuse a lack of communication, compassion, or attention to a vulnerable patient's basic needs. I sincerely hope Sharp Memorial Hospital takes these concerns seriously and investigates what is happening in the ICU. My mother deserves to feel safe, respected, listened to, and properly cared for--whether her family is standing beside her or not. read more

I recently had an experience at Sharp Memorial Hospital that I feel compelled to share. My brother was admitted to the emergency room early in the morning of February 17, 2026 around 8 pm. While we understand that emergency situations can be unpredictable, it took them nearly nine hours for him to be assigned a room on the 5th floor. This wait was quite concerning, especially given the urgency of his condition. Once he was finally settled in, we encountered a significant issue with the registered nurse in charge, Brittnay (employee number 6836). Unfortunately, her attitude left much to be desired. She seemed to believe that she was above everyone else, and any questions we asked were met with a dismissive response, as if she were doing us a favor by engaging. This lack of empathy and professionalism was disheartening and truly overshadowed our experience at the hospital. On a more positive note, I want to commend another nurse, Sara (employee number 5107), who was a bright spot during our stay. She exemplified what nursing should be--compassionate, attentive, and genuinely caring. I would rate her a perfect ten out of ten. Her demeanor and professionalism made a significant difference in a stressful situation, and she deserves recognition for her outstanding care. In conclusion, while I appreciate the services provided by Sharp Memorial Hospital, I believe there is a need for improvement in staff training, particularly in fostering a more empathetic approach to patient care. terribly disappointed. waiting almost 3 hours in the waiting room. throat actively closing hives covering my body to the point my eyes were swelled shut. finally told someone they said to keep waiting all the beds are full. at hour 3 got a bed.... 60% of ER beds were UNFULLED and staff was sitting on computer area conversing the entire time (7 hours we will there) where a doctor came to see me for a TOTAL of 2 MINUTES! completely medical malpractice. no one even looked my my body. then they sent me away with hives still covering me head to toe. I'm so so embarrassed of you alll and you should rethink what a trainer "medical practitioner" should look like. shame on you all completely disgusting and unprofessional behavior. either hire more staff or find people who are ACTUALLY WILLING TO HELP the citizens of Southern California. shame. read more

--One star for getting my daughter out of an emergency situation; --One star for the nursing staff (shout out to Randi, Ester and others) and support staff (Andee); --One star for ancillary support offered (meditation, music and massage therapy, visitation from therapy dogs) It's taken me quite a while to think about how I'm going to review this hospital, along with their affiliate Sharp network. Let me be clear from the get-go: I do not have all the details, since I do live out of state and much of the events were relayed to me via the patient and other family members that were there on site. BUT, since I did witness some turn of events and actually went to this hospital multiple times, I feel I can give a generally accurate review. After visiting a Sharp-affiliated urgent care clinic twice in a short period of time due to breathing problems, exhaustion, lack of energy, events of collapsing and instances of blurry/obscured vision, Sharp physicians determined that my daughter's asthma was the ultimate culprit. Pleading with them regarding the severity of her symptoms were dismissed. Their advice: increase your asthma medication. When symptoms did not subside (and actually got worse), and at the point of desperation, my daughter reached out to her uncle (a physician who practices near Los Angeles). She drove from her home in San Diego to her uncle's office where vitals were taken and blood was drawn for testing - as her skin was pale, her vision was sporadically impaired and she could not stand for any periods of time without collapsing. Asthma you say? Well, no, she was in the early stages of heart failure due to the onset of AML leukemia. My daughter, now back in San Diego, was advised by her uncle to get to an ER as soon as possible. She went to Sharp Memorial Hospital, and although initially dismissed regarding the severity of her symptoms, she was admitted due to an accelerated heart rate (taken while she was sitting, when your heart rate should be at its lowest). The ER docs actually called her uncle, though, wanting to know why she was there. Blood was drawn, and sure enough, a diagnosis of leukemia was confirmed. What followed was an over a month-long stay for her initial (induction) chemo treatment. AML leukemia in people under the age of 40 is rare; Sharp treated her to get her out of the emergency situation, true. But after that, their treatment was based, essentially, on how an over-60-year-old would be treated with leukemia, and not specifically the type of leukemia she has (after genetic testing which showed she had a rare mutation). Sharp should have known their limitations, been aware of it and advised her (and other family members who were present) of this. If treatment is out of your scope and medical realm, a referral to a specialist is warranted. This, however, did NOT happen. I tend to think they really didn't know what precisely to do to help her. Instances of bone marrow draws at 3 PM (meaning she could not eat anything until the procedure was completed) did not help. Why would you force a patient to literally go the bulk of the day without eating anything? Especially when you know chemo patients often have a limited appetite. When it became apparent that Sharp could not treat her adequately, her aunt (also a physician) facilitated her transfer to another hospital under a different doctor's care. I so wish Sharp and their physicians had been more up front, more honest with my daughter and with themselves about her particular genetic variant of AML and that it was, indeed, over their heads. Dragging your feet and delaying specific treatment can cause serious issues. Thank goodness we have family members who are licensed physicians who came to her rescue, proverbial red cape and all. She is, obviously, no longer at Sharp. She continues to go through leukemia treatment, but now is under the care of a specialist in the field - a specialist that our family had to locate rather than obtaining a referral from Sharp physicians. Sharp never once offered, nor encouraged, a referral to a specialist for her rare mutation of leukemia. read more

Cable TV and the fare are better than some of the restaurants I've been to, very modern. Every room is a private room. I arrived at the ER at 6 AM Sharp and was in my private room, every room here is a private room, at precisely 10AM. The food is better than many restaurants here in San Diego, with extensive selections and menus. I forgot my cell phone charger and they happily provided one for me. The staff is good, always polite, and courteous no matter who I speak to. They do everything fast, no wasting time waiting and waiting not here. On February 12 I called 911 because I had a pre syncope episode I was picked up outside of my apartment complex and was brought to this hospital sharp hospital at 7901 frost st when the paradmics and me arrived at the hallway of the er were they bring people in ambulance I started to feel numb my face and lips I couldn't feel my face and they put me into a bed and doctor James o'hora was very unprofessional and told me to watch TikTok videos on my phone while I was feeling lightheaded and numb and he forced me to eat when I told him I was not gonna eat because I was not feeling well and he lied on documentation saying that I told him verbally that I felt better after I ate when that's not true and he dismissed my symptoms. After being there for three hours he told me that I needed to go see a psychiatrist when I have a history of being anemic and I don't know why I have pre syncope episodes. I have been a patient at this Sharp Memorial Hospital in the Emergency.Department 3 times. I have been diagnosed with a very serious Medical Condition called DVT. This is the medical term but in the English Term means Blood Clot .This Blood Clot is located in my right calf area inside my artery in one of my veins thet restricts my blood from flowing freely to my heart,. My Medial Condition was diagnosed by Dr. Mazerek. Dr. Mazarek is one of Sharp Memorial Hospital Emergency Room Doctors. De. Mazarek discussed with me about my medical condition on Friday, June 12, 2026. I told Dr. Mazarek I am feeling a lot of pain in my right leg with swelling, redness, and a tingling and throbbing sensation that is located underneath my knee in the lower calf muscle,. Dr. Mazarek asked me how long have I been experiencing this leg pain. I told Dr. Mazarek it's been about one one month now. My pain in my right calf muscle started our small like it feels like a leg cramp. i assumed my leg cramp would go away by itself. I didn't know this small cramp in my right leg is a blood clot. Dr. Mazarek ordered a CBC called a Complete Blood Count. Then Dr. Mazarek ordered this Ultrasound Test done on this machine that is only available in the Emergency Room at the Sharp Memorial Hospital. Pan the Lab Tech Wheeled his cart into my room and he said Hi he.s Pan and he is here in take my blood test. I asked Pan to use a Butterfly Needle to take out my 3 Tubes of Blood he needed to get my Complete Blood Count,. When Pan was extracting my blood from my arm I didn't feel no pain. Then before Pan left, he said a Joke to me. Pan said , He Pokes their patients first, then Pan asks his Patients Questions later. I was laughing at his odd sense of humor. Then Carly this Ultrasound Technician , she brought their Ultrasound Machine over to my room in their Emergency Department. Carly was very friendly towards me and put me at ease and I felt very relaxed and omfortable haviing Carly give me this Ultrasound Test. It took a while for Carly to feel my veins using this wand device that's attached to the Ultrasound Machine. Finally, Carly completed my Ultrasound Machine Test Then Carly told me that one of their Radiologist will be discussing the results on my Ultrasound Test with Dr. Mazarek the Emergency Department Doctor and come up with a treatment plan for me,, I had to wait about one hour later until Dr. Mazarek stopped by my Emergency Room to tell me I have an Active Blood Clot It's only one blood clot in my right leg. Dr. Mazarek told me that I need to follow up with my Primary care Doctor whose name is Dr. Suzanne Affalio to discuss with her about my DVT. Dr. Mazarek also said for me to continue taking my Blood Thinner Medication. I said okay thank you Dr. Mazarek for his excellent advice. Dr.Mazarek was very friendly and kind to me and he especially was very concerned about my serious Blood Clot in my right Calf muscle. In summary, I did receive very professional medical care from Dr. Mazarek and I also received excellent customer service from his nurses and from his technicians. read more

A special thank you to Jocelyn R and Jessica R from Unit 5 North. They were extremely professional, welcoming, and attentive throughout my stay. They both went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and well taken care of, which made a difficult time much more pleasant. I would also like to recognize RN Arturo, who demonstrated incredible compassion and professionalism. His dedication to patient care did not go unnoticed and was greatly appreciated. The staff on this unit truly made my stay much more comfortable, and I'm grateful for the care and kindness they showed me. I visited the Sharp Memorial ER on 06/07/26 around 1:30 a.m. with a severe 10/10 gallbladder attack. I was crying, barely able to walk, and extremely scared. Despite this, no one offered help or a wheelchair. Instead, I was met with sarcasm ("We all have a gallbladder") and a series of questions I could barely answer while in pain. The staff showed no empathy or urgency. I had to move myself into a wheelchair. A nurse attempted an IV for about 15 minutes, repeatedly poking me and even mocking me while I prayed from pain. Another nurse asked unnecessary questions that were already in my chart once the system was back up. When I tried to explain that I was in too much pain to think clearly, she simply left the room. The doctor only came when I said I wanted to leave as I felt not safe to be under their care. He offered no comfort or explanation; just told me I could go. I left untreated and had to manage the attack at home. No patient in severe pain, scared, and unable to think straight should ever be treated this way. This night shift (1:30-3:30 a.m.) showed a complete lack of compassion and professionalism. Very disappointing and traumatic experience. read more

A few weeks ago I wasn't feeling well. Symptoms kept piling up on me. I tried all the obvious methods of self care and was not improving. I called a nurse, and told her all of my smptoms. She told me to come to the emergency room right away. I did. Finding parking in the dark with all the construction going on was tricky I passed the parking garage and had to turn around and go back to it. I had to go through a security check ointment which was fairly easy. The guard was friendly and helpful. He pointed me in the right direction to the desk. I was taken in right away, then diagnosed and admitted. Soon after that I was wheeled to my room, thus began several days of poking, prodding and testing. Everyone was nice friendly. The food service staff worked hard to serve me delisious nutritious meals. Many were rather small, but I was always given the opportunity to have snacks between meals. One favorite was the miso ginger glazed baked salmon. Another favorite was the pot roast. A lot of times they served me something diffrent than what I ordered. Not sure if they rainout or if my doctor ordered something diffrent. No complaints. The custodial staff made sure the room was clean. The doctors nurses, and assistants were all helpful attentive and friendly. They all worked together to keep me safe and comfortable and on the road to recovery.Thank you Sharps Memorial Hospital for all you did for me. read more

I don't even know where to begin. I was admitted to the ER due to a kidney stone which I didn't realize I had a kidney infection because the stone turned out to be blocking me from peeing. They took me back in a room right away and started taking blood and urine samples. The had me go thru the CT scan and turns out that it's a 11 mm stone not passable so they put a tube thru my right kidney to drain the infection. I was admitted to the hospital for over 5 days because I went septic and need round the clock care. The food was terrible it really makes you want to just get up and walk right out but I was really weak. I had my husband stay with me after I had a weird incident with a male Dr that gaslighted me saying he didn't like special people lol I was like WTF doctors houldn't be able to treat patients that way he waited for my husband to leave when he came in I was alone with him and I didn't feel safe I only complained a few months later because I was afraid something was going to happen to me while I was there. I requested my medical records to find out who this male Dr was because he wasn't in charge of treating me and I never saw him again after that encounter. I found out that the doctors at this hospital aren't employed thru them they are all independent contractors I think it's because they want to cover their butts so they don't get sued for bad practices. And what was really a joke they only offered me Tylenol I had a 11 mm kidney stone JFC what a joke they treated me like a drug addict because I wanted something stronger. My primary care doctor referred me to a specialist, she ordered an MRI of my breasts because I was having issues. They discovered a lump in my breast. The specialist referred me to Sharp Memorial who decided I wasn't worth their time to take me on. They would rather let the lump grow and me die than to assist a patient who is actually part of their medical group btw. So I had to be referred out to a different hospital, suffice it to say. I will never EVER go to Sharp Memorial with any medical problems because mine was too UNIMPORTANT to them. I should've sued them to be honest. read more

I don't understand how she got a job at a major hospital, i wouldn't even let her attitude slide at a McDonalds drive-through. also, they don't really care too much about you in the emergency department. little to no care about your panels or doing really any testing when you need it. read more

Huge shout out to 4N! 4th floor staff was amazing with my mom during her few days that she stayed there while they drained her abscess. Tia, Kaley, and Cameron - you ladies are amazing. Your empathy, patience, kindness, and humor helped make her experience that much better. My mom had been on a different floor at this same hospital for gallbladder surgery 1 week prior, and the experience was terrible. I was comfortable going home knowing my mom would be cared for with compassion. Front desk staff is equally kind and amazing! Thank you all for your help :) read more

Not a great experience. My husband went into this ER March 29 with shoulder pain. This was at 7am at the end of the docs shift. They did an x-ray and stated everything was fine, probably soft tissue problem. My husband at this point was in extremely painful. He never asks for pain killers but the pain was level 10 so he asked for pain management. The ER doctor refused. He went home and after multiple sleepless nights another doctor looked at the x-ray and stated the humorous was fracture right below the armpit. This doctor reccomended we talk to the original doctor from the ER. Mind you my husband has not been able to get any doctor to treat his arm. So we called the ER doctor and left a message. Never recieved a call back. We called today and spoke to charge nurse Sergio. Sergio was condescending the whole time, then stated it was the radiologist falt not the doctor the saw my husband. All we want is MRI of his arm and for him to be treated. You tell me if it's okay for this ER to release people with fractures without treatment or pain management. We asked to speak to management multiple times and they refuse. We might have to get an attorney if his arm gets worse or heals wrong. read more

There are many hospitals here in San Diego which have been the many centers many of them here in San Diego which have been the front-line centers of the of the fight against the Covid 19 when it had come upon the city and the many areas of the North County. The many people and the nurses that work so hard and the doctors that when you see through their there is much more and the many lives they save and the ones that pass away from the end. Sharps Memorial has so much in one Hospital to the many people that workday by day and the many that help in the evenings with the many patients that have surgery and other medical procedures. When I had to go to the Sharps Clairmont Hospital it was that of when I had broken my knee cap the paramedics that took me to the hospital, they had contacted the hospital to get things started upon the arrival. The hospital up0onm my arrival my epilepsy was hard and the doctors upon my arrival they were able to get me stabilized with my leg they told me the patella was broken in three sections. The emergency room crowded the doctors had me to a room in the ICU to get my leg looked at found that the break was in one solid form, yet the patella was in three sections no surgery needed. The doctors told me that I was being admitted to the hospital to get further exam and the leg to be examined by an orthopedic surgeon the doctors told me that my health had to be stabilized. The many people I saw the many doctors had checked me they were concerned for my health and wanted to have me stay over with my epilepsy and the break fracture of my right leg kneecap. That told they were concerned to have me traveling and the nurses were the most caring when it came to getting help. With the many hospitals that I have been to is the Sharps Clairmont Hospital showed me they are concerned and to have a person with epilepsy on the bus they helped me get home after the time my body was stabilized. With the many nurses that helped me through the medical calls with the times I had to have blood drawn checking blood pressure the nurses are the greatest and the great people that do so much caring for the many patients giving the caring ear to listen to your needs and to help with the kids that are scared the nurses can say are the best. For the long three days the hospital helped me with physical therapy helped me with the many areas of the therapy and the feel of trying to walk on the weight and getting used to my right leg. Therapy for the right leg it was one that was taking on the stretch and the feel of my foot on the floor the person who worked with me one of the best people. In closing the many things that I had seen, and the wonderful quality of care was above and beyond to have so many great people to work with so many and to be helped by the best nurses and the doctors. read more

Would not go here one of the worst hospitals ever lack of medical attention they had a nurse training in icu who wasn't even attentive to things they kept being told numerous times to her what was taking them so long nurse said she was training the nurse, they literally had my brother in and out after being ejected off his bike would not recommend anyone to come here go to a more reputable hospital this one definitely is disappointing to be at. read more

We were on Vacation recently in San Diego. My girl on Sunday was bent over in pain during the night. So we brought her into Sharp's ER After a quick blood test she was admitted right away and went to critical decisions beds area. She ended up spending nine days with Sharp with a highly infectious kidney when a Cyst Burst and almost killed her. Sharp did everything they could to keep her comfortable and alive. They succeeded!! Even their COO came to visit to make sure, as a critical patient, that she was ok. She is home now and recovering. THANK YOU SHARP!! read more

To: whom this may concern, I read some great reviews and testimonies in yelp from others experience at sharp and I had hope I can say the same for me as a love one & friend I've experienced as a visitor looking in. Since my boyfriend been admitting to sharps hospital it has been nothing but stress and frustration for me one day I'm allowed to see him and talk to him the next day I'm not all they could tell me is he's not taking visitor right now and talk to his sons on everything. My friend condition is serious and he needs to understand this. But at the same time the staff was not giving him any updates or information on what was going on with his health. He's been wanting to go home and the staff is keeping him from going home. They telling his family he wasn't able to home yet bcuz he hasn't fully recovered he went in there becuz of edema were his foot, legs & knees were swollen to much fluid build up around his heart and sharp staff showed some concerns moving on days pass he has gotten better all swelling came down and he's been waning to go home and still there. They tell us they have had a few misbehavior from him like wanting to leave the hospital and as he try's to leave he had a nurse that kept tugging at him and she supposedly got hit in the face, when I got there Stacey face look good there wasn't any marks on her face & saw no visual damage to her face they got other staff involved and strap him down from chest to wrist. When arrived Nothing was told to me until I started questioning his scrapes and bruises on his hands, arms and why he was strapped down, then I was briefly told that he tried to leave and hit a nurse so he strap down bcuz he was a danger to their staff they had call physic doctor to check him out after they gave him some medication for his anxiety & told me he wasn't fit to make his own medical decision! How can this be a solid evaluation mentally ? when they have him dope up on anxiety medication this man has never taken any kind of drugs his whole life how do you think that kind medication could affect him? Talking gerburish, in and out of sleep and awake droggy that mental evaluation that the doctor did was this accurate evaluation ? Now they are saying to his family is we want him to realize he's ill and he needs help and as soon as he able to comply with the staff & tell us what we want you to say & we might release you. this has become more than just about his sickness it's become about who's in empower over you! This is how I see their staff in charge trying to break his will and spirit! he's 75 yrs old he is who he is, can you train old dogs new tricks yes only if he was strip down to nothing anyway, to prove what I'm saying they sent him to a behavioral center, no visit and no calls bcuz they tell me he's not registered at the hospital and they can't help me where in the hick did he go? I came here today after visiting an urgent care clinic; however, since they lacked the necessary equipment to assess my pregnancy-related concerns, they issued a referral for me to be seen at this emergency room. It was a truly terrible experience! I am pregnant and had fallen on my back the day before; since then, I haven't been able to feel the baby moving, so I went in to get checked out. Yet, they treated the whole situation like a joke. I handed my referral slip to the receptionist at the check-in counter, but she didn't even bother to read it. She asked why I was there today, and I replied that I was pregnant and had fallen on my back yesterday. She turned to her computer to do something, then looked back at me and asked, "You fell?" I answered, "Yes," and pointed to the word "pregnant" on the referral slip. She asked again--"Pregnant?"--with an air of surprise, as if to say, "Really?" I thought to myself, "Well, obviously! I just told you that, and it's clearly written right here on the referral slip!" She didn't say another word; she simply handed back my ID and the referral slip, then let another staff member standing nearby take over. The ultrasound technician--named Mark L--who performed my scan was incredibly rude, and unprofessional. He tossed a towel in my direction and said, "Tuck this into your waistband"--the way he threw the towel toward my abdomen was truly disrespectful. He didn't say a single word throughout the entire ultrasound procedure. After a few minutes, my husband asked him if he could hear a heartbeat, but he completely ignored the question. I believe that, as an ultrasound technician--especially in the field of obstetrics--you have a responsibility to inform patients of what you are seeing and the current situation. This is particularly true when a patient specifically asks whether a fetal heartbeat can be detected--which was our greatest concern at the time, as we simply wanted to ensure that everything was fine and that the baby's heart was beating normally. I understand that ultrasound results require review and verification by a specialist before a final diagnosis can be issued; however, it was clearly visible on the screen that the fetal heart was beating, so why did you remain silent when the patient asked? You should have immediately shared that information with us to help alleviate our anxiety. Afterward, they sent us back to the waiting area. We were forced to wait nearly two hours before finally being called into an examination room to receive the results. We were consumed with worry for our child, fearing that the baby's heart had stopped beating or that there was some serious underlying issue, and all we could do was pray for the best. They treat this job like a damn joke--it is utterly callous and irresponsible. People don't go to the emergency room without a valid reason! In the medical profession, integrity and ethics must take precedence above all else; if these are not your guiding principles, you should find yourself a different career. read more
