At the end of the day we didn't make a purchase, but they were correct and had us look at a car that was what we wanted (not sure why we didn't go for the one they had - may have been miles) and we ultimately ended up purchasing (unfortunately not from them - really, but that's another story). Staff was friendly and didn't mind working with the team from Pelham to show us what they had. Again, same no pressure ... no haggle establishment. I drove up to the service area (somewhat of a drop off driveway) and there was a car in front of me. Usually there is a service technician that comes and greets you and ask what type of service you are needing. After sitting a couple of minutes and not seeing anyone, I decided to get out and go inside. The person that was in the car in front of me decided to do the same. Once inside, one technician was on the phone with customer then another service technician came out front. Since the other individual arrived before me, I let them go first. The tech that was taking a call came out and assisted me. After leaving my keys in the car and agreeing to a service I originally didn't come for... I didn't see him again. An hour and half later, my patience was wearing thin. I walked to the desk and ask for the status of my car. Another technician asked what car I had and he went to check things out. He came back after a few minutes and said they were checking my car for potential additional issues and he wasn't sure why my original tech did not update me. Communication is key and essential. It's now a little over 2.5 hrs of waiting, hopefully I can leave soon.

The salesman, Deon, knew what he was doing and negotiations were calm. Further negotiations with the manager, Willie, were equally calm and professional. Don't get me wrong. Carlock is a business and they are not giving cars away. But the sales team and I arrived at a fair price and my wife was able to drive her new car away yesterday. We are happy, about the experience, and that is unusual when one has just bought a car. I can't believe I'm giving giving five stars to a car dealership, but they deserve it.

I eventually changed my mind and decided not to go through with the purchase. I contacted the dealership to let them know I had changed my mind and requested a refund of my deposit. They refused to return the money--even though the sale was never finalized, no paperwork was completed, and no vehicle was taken. I was met with unprofessional behavior, a lack of communication, and no accountability for keeping my deposit under these circumstances. It was clear they had no intention of working with me fairly, and I feel like I was scammed out of $1000. Selective Automotive clearly lacks integrity and basic customer respect. I do not recommend this dealership to anyone. If you're considering buying from them, be extremely cautious before handing over any money. I learned the hard way, and I hope this saves someone else from going through the same experience.

The owner of Selective Automotive entered into a contract with my company to do a loan. The contract was fulfilled on my end by getting him over a million-dollar loan for his car business. The owner of the business has decided to stiff the payment of $27,500 that is owed. This is coming from a mother of 4 kids doing good to help small businesses with their funding and does not deserve this type of treatment from this person. Therefore, this is a warning to the community of Pelham, Alabama that this guy is not trustworthy to do business with. He even sent a cease-and-desist letter and did not even pay the attorney that sent it, so this guy didn't even pay his own attorney. It is advised to run as far as possible from this operation as they can't be trusted.
