Had my eye on this spot for a while, but hadn't pulled the trigger until recently. Holy smokes. I visited for a late lunch, so it wasn't busy, but I could tell the few other patrons were regulars- always reassuring. Service was beyond friendly- guy who helped me (took my order and prepared it) was genuinely excited to share his craft and serve a new customer. And said craft didn't disappoint. Got a spicy chicken shawarma wrap and it was outstanding. Fresh, hot, and clearly made with care and passion. It's an unassuming spot at the end of a strip mall, but will certainly be part of my regular rotation moving forward. If the rest of the menu is half as good as the spicy chicken, I'll still be thrilled. read more

The food looked great, although it didn't bring much flavor and it was extremely greasy to the point it upset my stomach.

I got the half and half shawarma ($16) and it came with lamb and beef shawarma and Chicken Shawarma with two sides which I choose hummus and the grilled onion & tomato. It came out in about 20 minutes after a busy takeout crowd. The meat was very moist, seasoned well, crispy, and quite delicious. I really enjoyed both meats surprisingly quite equally. The hummus and garlic sauce were outstanding! However I felt that their garlic sauce was quite heavy on me leaving me feel quite sluggish after the meal (but that could be a good thing since the food was awesome). Staff were very nice. The inside was a bit sticky and felt like a hole in the wall place, but those places usually ends up being a place that serves phenomenal food! there is about 1.5 serving size worth of food so the value is quite good! Shawarma Bistro is Average, and there are some things we have to talk about. Firstly, the lack of A/C and the multitude of fans they have running. Upon entering, it was warm, the staff shifted the fans pretty close to our faces, making it hurricane dining. With the positives I have 3. The store was clean. The staff that we did interact with were friendly. And according to my fellow diner, their falafel and tahini was among the best they've had. Now as for me, I ordered the Lamb and Beef Shawarma with fries and Arabic Salad. The fries were crispy and absolutely delicious but the meat was...quite mediocre in flavor. The combination of beef and lamb was not my favorite and had some overcooked chunks. The Arabic salad wasn't bad but didn't stand out. Now again, reviews come down to the items you get, and maybe there are some crowd favorites that I was not aware of. With the items I did receive, I was not impressed. Was it bad, no. Food was delicious and served hot to us. We received a complimentary pita bread (3) with a side of olive oil and seasoning for dipping. The bread was hot and fresh was well - super soft! The service was prompt. Our waitress was to the point when we ordered our food and ensured to offer us dessert when we were done with our food. Say it with me: BEST FALAFELS EVER!!!!! No but seriously I've been searching for years now to find the perfect falafel and low and behold it's been hiding here the whole time. This restaurant is located in a very unassuming shopping center. They are currently the only buisness that's open. This is a small family owned buisness with really good food at an affordable price. Glad I stopped into this little place. There was no customers inside. It looks like it's primarily a take out spot. The food was slightly different from typical Mediterranean food. Like maybe the spices were pleasantly different. I sampled the beef/lamb shwarma, hummous, and the bread with herbed oil. Everything was tasty and novel. What I didn't like was the 15% gratuity that was automatically added to the check. Who does that? You can't assume that I want to give you a tip. You can't assume how much I want to give you. In this case, the total was $1.80. Who tips $1.80? Had they left the tip off, the waitress would have gotten more. Since they took it upon themselves to help themselves to my wallet, I let her have the $1.80. The food was good. I enjoyed it, and I won't be back. I don't like entitlement. We drive by the lot that Shawarma Bistro is located at every week on the way to get groceries, and every week the l always think "Boy, does that sound good, but I probably can't eat most of the tasty items because I have Celiac [gluten based autoimmune disease]". I finally decided to reach out to the restaurant and ask, hoping I could have at least a piece of chicken or something. --Food: Turns out, many of their items are gluten free! The owner of the restaurant let me know that just about all the items that aren't on a pita, pizza / manakeesh, mention wheat (tabbouleh / kibbeh), and the rice (looks like a pilaf) are gluten free. While that sounds like a lot of things I can't have, that leaves the real stars including the shawarma meat, hummus, and fries. (Which are fried in a non gluten fryer!) I got the 1/2 Beef+Lamb, 1/2 Chicken Shawarma entree with a side of Hummus and French Fries. The meat was delicious and seasoned well. I'm going to be honest, I was always pretty neutral on Hummus but theirs is really tasty. The fries are seasoned and delicious too. Also, the garlic sauce that comes with the shawarma is top tier delicious and I think I want to learn how it's made and put it on everything. Super good. I did order a side of the jajik (cucumber yogurt sauce) and za'atar but honestly the garlic is better. (Though if you like those things, they were good too!) They also have build your own plates (almost sounds like building a deluxe salad) where you can pick a meat, a side, and then vegetable toppings. While I don't personally love falafel, they have that as well. (And it's GF). For those that can have gluten, they have lots of wraps and pitas that you can get with chicken or beef/lamb in addition to any of the build your own plate things. They also have pizzas and manakeesh. --Cost: It's not the cheapest but the order I had was a ton of food for the money. I had a lunch snack the next day even. Looks like most things are around the $15 range for entrees. Definitely affordable for the quality. --Service: The owner that emailed me back was very responsive and genuine. Pickup was easy and plenty of people were eating inside now and spaced apart. Someday I'll dine in but takeout was easy and fast. --Overall: Loved it and absolutely recommend. Not just because of the gluten free options, but the food is legitimately delicious. My fiancee tried some of the chicken and fries and wants to get an order for herself next time. My family and I visited Shawarma Bistro on a Sunday after my sister's graduation, purely by chance, as the two restaurants we had originally planned to visit were closed. We are so grateful we ended up here instead! The staff at Shawarma Bistro were incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating--especially Nazmi, the gentleman took our order. The food was exceptional! We highly recommend the Tabbouleh, Kibbeh, Spicy Chicken Shawarma, and the Bird's Nest dessert. On top of that, they serve complimentary fresh bread and olive oil, which was absolutely delicious. I've been seeing the adds on Facebook and Instagram and honestly, the fact that they cook the meats on the spit drew me in. We ordered to go but they do have outside and inside dinning . I recommend calling ahead if your placing a Togo order since it will take a minute to prepare the food. I love that you can build your own plate and the veggies and chicken came with huge portions. The chicken was juicy and full of flavor and we love the house made pickles. Great if your doing any of the diets like paleo, keto, or gluten-free etc. I got the spicy chicken cheesy shawarma which was full of flavor . I did wish it had some salad in the wrap to cut through the salty ness of meat and cheese but the wrap did hit the spot . The pickles added that contrast but they were on the side . I was excited to hear that a shawarma place opened up near me and even more excited to see it available on DoorDash. We ordered the lamb burger and lamb shank with okra. The food was kind of disappointing - the lamb burger tasted really gamey and the lamb shank was fall off the bone tender but lacked flavor. The rice also didn't have flavor, which would be fine if the lamb shank did. The okra side dish that came with the shank was not savory and lacked flavor as well. I really like Shawarma Bistros food. Really like it. Unfortunately there are some other businesses practices here that I don't: 1) They add an automatic gratuity fee for carry out. This is counter intuitive to me- a fee called gratuity. You will see this as a line item on your receipt. So, if you are tipping, just know you are tipping on the gratuity that is already built in. 2). I find the service unfriendly. For example, we ordered take out and decided the weather was nice enough that we wanted to sit outside on the restaurant patio. We were rudely kicked out of the patio because we had "already paid for the food and therefore wouldn't pay the server a service gratuity." I had already included 20% on our take out order and that was on top of the gratuity fee automatically charged!? This was without anyone even eating at the restaurant at the time. 3). This is a little nit picky but they recently changed their carry out boxes to smaller packages and they don't deliver as much food as they used to give. Like I said, the food is good. Service fees for lack of service is the reason for 2 stars. read more

Riding up to Shawarma Bistro, it was very apparently how Covid had hit the area. It seemed to be about the only business left in an otherwise abandoned shopping strip. We got in the restaurant and we were the only people there, but we went at kind of an off time, between lunch and dinner. Our server was super kind and helpful with the menu, neither myself or my mom had ever tried shawarma before but maaaaannnnnn we were missing out! I got the Shawarma Chicken with a side of baba ghannouj and tabbouleh. The sides were okay, I mainly wanted to try food I hadn't tried before. But let me tell you, that chicken was great! It had a good flavor and almost a crunch to some pieces, and came out steaming hot. I could've eaten a huge plate of that alone. My mom got a pizza and that was pretty good, too. It tasted really fresh. Also, the plating of my meal was excellent, it was presented so well.
