This restaurant is our new obsession-the first time I went I felt like I had hit the jackpot. It's really rare to find a restaurant that has really amazing food, generous portions, and for a really good price. My wife and I eat at this restaurant more than any other. You really can't go wrong with anything that you pick at Shawarma but one of my favorites is the falafel plate. Some days they have special dishes like trout or lamb curry and sometimes I will get these. If your lucky enough to go on a day when they have lamb curry you have to try it-it's one of the best curries I have had. I have been to the Mediterranean several times and the food is amazing-Denver is really lucky to have a place that serves authentic Mediterranean food. The owners are really nice and they put a lot a lot of work into making sure everything is perfect. The prices are very reasonable, the portion sizes are big, and they have a variety of dishes to choose from. One of my favorites is the pickled turnips. If you have never had a pickled turnip you are really missing out ( they make them from scratch). The owner also makes one of the best hot sauces I have ever had-again they make this from scratch. I have been tempted to ask how much the container would be-it's that good! I wish they sold bottles of hot sauce because I would pick up a bottle when I go. The Baba Ghanouj is also very good.(pureed eggplant with tahini, lemon juice and garlic.) I have never had "spicy hummus" before but it's really good and I get it every time I go. It's hard to find really good balaclava in Denver but the balaclava at Sharma is perfect. The "malbie" is really amazing-it's rose water pudding with strawberries. The pistachio ice cream is something that i highly recommend. If I am getting something on the go I usually get the felafel sandwich with spicy hummus,hot sauce and tahini sauce). Don't forget to add pickled turnips. I also never feel guilty when I eat here because it's healthy food that is good for you. read more

I absolutely love shawarma, and that is coming from a person who's never had any good experiences with Mediterranean food, and once believed I would never eat a a place like such ever again until my friends convinced me into trying this place. The food is always very quick to come out, and it always has an authentic and genuine Mediterranean feel to eat at a low price. The food is full of taste and flavor that satisfies while the owners are always extraordinarily friendly. Firstly, I was lured to this place due to its positive reviews. The place was clean but the food was not even OK. What I asked for was Lamb shanks with saffron rice for which they readily nodded that they have but what I got was Lamb chops with brown rice. Shawarma is supposed to be hot & juicy but what we got was dry & cold. Falafel was oily but crispy. Overall taste was below average without much flavor. I'm not going back. read more

WOW! What a place. Abe an Pierre run a great show. The food is stupendous. Nothing like it in Colorado. Why do I know the owners names.......because I've only been there three times and they remember mine, just like in the old days. All about customer service and building relationships. The chicken melts in your mouth. They actually have lamb! The spicy hummus is spectacular. If great Lebanese food is something you crave this is the place. Don't let the fact that this restaurant is in a strip mall fool you. This place truly has some great food. I've been coming here for over a year now and still come regularly whenever I am in the area. I always get the Lamb Shawarma plate with everything on it and not ONCE has it been bad. A few times the lamb has been a little undercooked or overcooked but never to the point of it being inedible. My husband and I just love this place! it's not a sit down restaurant with a server--you order your food at the counter and take it to your seat. There's a great variety of food to choose from, including the traditional sandwiches and plates. I haven't been able to order anything besides falafel (which I think is the best in the area), but my husband has tried a variety of shawarmas and has yet to be disappointed. And as a bonus, they put noodles in their rice just like my Middle Eastern grandmother used to do :) The staff are always so friendly and nice, the prices are fair, and it's always very clean. WOW. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!! We ordered from this restaurant due to the high ratings it received. NEVER Again. We ordered 2 gyros, side potatoes, an order of falafel and 2 baklava. To start, the gyros were cold and tasteless. Lots of chopped up veggies as well as meat. Whatever that was. The potatoes were also cold and came w a sauce that was of a horseradish nature and just not good. The falafel were made in what appeared to be a muffin tin. Also tasteless. I never typically write reviews and give restaurants the benefit of the doubt but this was unacceptable. The bill was $60! and so not worth it. I want to know who these other people ordered from. We still have the baklava to try but I am not hopeful. We have our rice Krispy treats as back up. Please do not waste your money and do not believe the other ratings. Or, take your chances and roll the dice with your money. But then don't say I didn't tell you so ...absolute crap read more

This place isn't good. Pitas are tough. Lamb meat is tough and not good. There is weird wilted lettuce in the wraps. The actual falafel isn't crispy and has a strong Alsace flavor. Overall, really disappointing Mediterranean food and a depressing reminder that we live in a place where people have no concept of good falafel and shawarma. People were very nice. Two shawarmas came to around $30. The filler plate--pita, rice, potatoes, etc.--starts at around $12. Anything with flavor, like the sauces, cost extra. With this, you get a tiny bit of meat. Flavors were good, though. But for $15 a plate, I'd like something more than filler with a sprinkling of meat. read more

I love this place, always have great tasting food. They know my family even know we go there occasionally. I have been here couple times and have been satisfied with the food, their portions are really big. My favorite meal there is the chicken shawarma. I get a lot of veggies on it with the garlic sauce. The garlic sauce is super garlicy (super strong too), so if you like that i recommend that you try it. It is also a fast service. And if you are a student at AHS, they give you a free drink so that is always a plus. read more
