The food was great well seasoned and very filling. The add ons were great as well. Peppers, onions and other herbs made the sandwich immaculate. The service is pretty straightforward, the do a chain link like subway. Thé people there were nice. They also have outside seating, so bring a party if you'd like.

Usually I'm a huge fan of Shwarma Mia, last time I got it a few months ago it was mid. This time it was straight disappointing. I ordered a bowl for the first time, the cabbage had a weird flavor and I wasn't a fan of the spicy carrots. The pickles had a waxy texture. The chummus that I usually love so much tasted different and not nearly as good as past times. The first few bites were good but once my deep hunger waned I was left with a lackluster plate. Photo of leftovers. I am leaving dissatisfied. Service was great as always

Absolutely fantastic. I haven't had a shawarma spot this legit and this good in a long time. Food was very fresh and flavorful. The chicken shawarma laffa I got was packed with meat. Their falafel is made fresh to order, so it's not sitting out and stale like most places. We got to chat with the owner for a bit and he's a really nice guy, been in the business for a while. He even gave us complementary baklava. I'm not the biggest fan of baklava, but this one was really good. Solid choice for a fast casual meal near Barclays.

Came here after a workout and it was the perfect meal! The chicken is so yummy and the sauces are amazing. The ingredients taste very fresh as well. Next time I'm in Brooklyn I'll fs come back here.

We got the beef & lamb bowl and wrap. Decent, filling, nothing to write home about. Portions are decent, so don't be afraid to ask to pile on. This place is tiny and doesn't have a bathroom. Only three tiny high top tables for two. Very cold, as the two entry doors are always swinging open, as a ton of customers is usually going in and out.

This is a Chipotle style shawerma place. I loved it! It was quite crowded on a Thursday evening at 7pm... so it took a while to order. There were 3 guys behind the counter and one was only working on online orders. You order the meat, the wrapper/ base, the toppings, and the sauces. The portions are large, which accounts for the price. I ordered the beef and lamb shawema on flat bread. The meat is good, dare I say better than most gyros in fast food places. The bread portion was thin pita. They have about 10 topping options, a variety of salads mostly, all that i tried were good. The hot sauce is not spicy at all, but still tasty, the tahini was too watered down. The fries tasted like the oil was old... Definitely a place to go to for a yummy bite.

It works! I was in the area. Needed something hot and fresh. Popped in here and decided on a bowl.I ordered chicken lamb beef gyro over cous cous. And you can add as many fresh topping as you like. That bowl made 2 meals for me. Its priced decently considering the location. When in the area again I'll be sure to drop in. The staff was friendly. They have a small indoor and outdoor area to eat.

I've tried many other places that similar to here but it's not comparable at all. Every time I tried this kind of place, I missed here a lot. Food quality, high values as well as price! This is the best place ever and highly recommended :)

While near Barclays Center, my wife and I decided to try some shawarma, and I'm so glad we stumbled upon this gem. From the moment we walked in, John, the owner, greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home. My wife went with the lamb and beef shawarma wrap paired with baba ghanoush and hummus, while I chose a hearty bowl packed with veal, white rice, lettuce, olives, pickles, cucumbers, carrots, eggplant matbucha, Turkish peppers, tomatoes, and a kick of red harissa hot sauce. Both dishes were absolutely delicious! Initially, my wife thought she could only manage half of her wrap, but by the time we finished eating, she had polished off the entire thing--a true testament to how incredible the food was. Compliments to the chef! As we enjoyed our meal, I had a wonderful conversation with John about his heritage, which added a personal and memorable touch to the experience. Before leaving, we ordered some chicken wings to go. I shared them with my daughter later, and she couldn't get enough of them--she kept asking for more! The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, but since it was a cold day, we chose to sit inside. The cozy interior had just three tables , which gave the space some charming, intimate vibes. This spot is undoubtedly a hidden gem, and we'll definitely be back again soon!

Nneeeewwwww favorite in the area! A Turkish spot that I didn't know existed until I decided to try a new place for lunch and opened my Yelp. I love Turkish food so I had high expectations for this place. My expectations were met. Granted, I received this food through delivery. Regardless, it hit the spot!!!! Everything was seasoned so well and the proportions were tailored to my liking. Right amount of chicken, rice, and toppings to evenly spread out my bites (if you know what I mean). I got the chicken shawarma bowl... the chicken is so tender, soft, and juicy. For me, I love how there is more meat than rice in the bowls. I really love how generous they are with the toppings. The baba ghanoush is the right texture, it's smoky, it's tasty, it's addicting. I love their pickles! They are crispy and tangy. And they give so much of it too. The spicy carrots and cabbage are also spot on. Honestly, the serving is so big that I'm able to save half of it for later. I've only gone into the place once and it is small (definitely just a takeout spot) and still very new inside with 2-3 spots to sit at for dining in. I absolutely love this place and talk it up to whoever asks me where to eat in Prospect Heights for a quick lunch. This is my "will always order it if I'm having a bad day which is every day" spot! :)

I went back for a weekday lunch recently and the food and atmosphere both hold up fabulously, so it makes sense why they've remained a brunch mainstay at both their East Village and Williamsburg locations. I enjoy that they serve their hot moroccan tea in a glass as is traditional, so you can see all the fresh mint leaves in your cup. I had tea like this multiple times a day during my trip to Morocco a few years back so sipping on this here took me back in time. I ordered a short stack of their blueberry pancakes which were very fluffy and delicious. They're not the kind of pancake with crispy edges, which are my preferred kind of pancake but I still found them satisfying. The moroccan eggs, which are two poached eggs in spicy stewed tomatoes and served with zahar pita is a delight. The pita is very fluffy and the zahatar adds such a nice fragrant spice to the bread. They used to serve this with potatoes but now those come at an additional charge but are well worth getting. The Williamsburg location also has pretty good wifi and they let me work on my laptop through my brief stay there. Kitchen was speedy too.

We also didn't get checked on at all, luckily our food was good and right. The table next to us didn't get greeted for water or anything so they had to flag down the guy delivering food to get a waitress. The restaurant itself has a modern, chic décor with a lively but moderate noise level. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, answered all of our questions with confidence, and did an amazing job matching our preferences with the perfect food and drink recommendations. Her service was exceptional from beginning to end. We started with the pita and hummus, and you could immediately tell everything was made from scratch. The pita was warm and fresh, the hummus was incredibly smooth and flavorful, and you could truly see and taste the quality. For dinner, we had the burger with the house chips. The Chocolate Babka dessert is a great way to end your meal, and they do make a solid espresso martini for those wondering. There is also an outdoor dining area, as well as a mid-sized dining room and we were seated near the window. Sawa serves Lebanese cuisine with some more modern dishes. Additionally, they have a mostly Lebanese wine list, which gave us an opportunity to try some new wines. We ordered both a red and a white for the table, and I was especially drawn to the red, as the red was served chilled, light-bodied, and very enjoyable. Nearly all of the reds and whites on the menu are from Lebanon, with just one red from Morocco, plus a couple sparkling options from Lebanon as well. We started with several dips for the table: hummus, baba ghannouj, and muhammara. The hummus was incredibly smooth, and the muhammara was especially flavorful with large pieces of walnut throughout. Everyone at the table receives fresh pita, and we ended up ordering a few more to share. We also shared the Brussels sprouts and the snap peas. The Brussels sprouts were rich and flavorful, but the snap peas really stood out. They were unlike anything I have tasted before, intensely mint, served with garlic mint labneh, and very delicious. For mains, we focused on lamb: two orders of the lamb ribs, two orders of the kafta, and two orders of the sfeeha. We probably over-ordered by about one entrée, but otherwise it was the right amount of food for six people. The lamb ribs were phenomenal, fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor. The lamb pies were also very good and came with a delicious dipping sauce. The kafta was good, though not quite as memorable as the other lamb dishes, but still very satisfying. Service was attentive throughout the meal, and despite the number of dishes on the table, the staff handled everything smoothly. The table got a little crowded at times, but it was manageable. I would absolutely recommend Sawa, especially for anyone who enjoys trying something a little different. They do classic Lebanese dishes very well, while also offering some creative dishes that feel unique and memorable. I am already looking forward to going back.
