Adding yet another 5 star review for this awesome local business! I've lived in North Park Slope/Crown Heights for several years and have walked past this place a ton of times but never actually popped in until I was wrapping up some errands along Flatbush and needed a quick lunch. Admittedly, I was craving CAVA but didn't have time to head all the way there. We decided to sit in the restaurant to enjoy our food rather than take it all the way home. This place isn't huge but does have a few indoor and outdoor seating options that were open when we arrived. This quickly changed though as the whole place filled up within a few minutes of our arrival! I ordered an adana bowl with half rice/half greens and my boyfriend ordered the lamb/beef pita. From the moment we ordered our food, I realized this meal was not going to be like CAVA at all. In fact, they were making the adana for my bowl fresh before my eyes. This made the bowl take about 10 minutes to be ready but it was definitely worth it. While we waited for my bowl, we started eating the pita. It was SO good and immediately made me regret my idea of being healthy and getting a bowl. Needless to say, we finished it completely by the time my bowl was ready. We planned to take my bowl home for later but couldn't stop eating it once we started. The portions are quite big (especially for the price - we spent about $30 on two meals and two drinks) but it is so good and fresh that it's definitely worth it to eat your food and enjoy that quality as soon as possible. Throughout the meal, I chastised myself several times for never trying Shawarma Mia until now. This is the definition of a neighborhood gem and will certainly be heavy in our quick lunch/take out rotation from here on out. read more

The freshness! My eyes were taking in all the selections. Each providing their individual drool moment it deserves. And there is no skimping on the quantity or quality. Absolutely loved the lamb and beef shawarma wrap. Though the wrap easily tore so it got a little messy. Fork may be required! This location has 3-4 tables and kinda narrow in comparison to seating and the aisle to order, so depending on the time (lunch) there may be no seating. My coworker told me about this place that recently open and she told me that I had to try it so I decided to get lunch in this area. It reminds of of a Chipotle where you get to choose the add-ins that you want with your dish. I decided to get a Chicken Shawarma Bowl and I added in tomatoes, eggplant matbucha (this was actually nicely spicy and added such good flavor with everything) with Tzatziki sauce with everything. All the flavors were amazing together. It was absolutely delicious and the bowl was also pretty large and super filling. Highly recommend this place and the prices are super fair especially with the amount of food that you are getting from this place. I can definitely see myself coming back in the future. Great casual neighborhood takeout spot for spit-roasted deliciousness. There are a couple tables, but my rate of dining in is only about one in five. I've lived in the area for the last several years and this is one of the go-tos if I'm hungry and aimless. I almost always get the mixed meat bowl, which is a 5/5. The spreads and dips are all good, especially the sweet eggplant one. Generous with all the toppings and meat, but less than they used to be. The bowl here really hit the spot for me. I got the shawarma mix and my favorite protein by far was the chicken - just so tender and juicy. I love all the toppings that go into the bowl - the pickled onions, red cabbage, hummus, baba ganoush, and they even have an eggplant matbucha (which I've never really seen at a Mediterranean bowl spot before). Only topping I would avoid next time was this spicy cucumber tomato that was surprisingly very spicy. And don't miss out on the sauces - the tzatziki sauce adds a nice creaminess too the chicken but isn't too much. Quantity meets quality at this relatively new Turkish grill that's put Park Slope in a chokehold since inception. Albeit a vegetarian's wet dream, it's the towering mountain of perfectly cooked chicken and beef (pause) that's making Shawarma Mia a household name. The Pita Pan's and Zaytoon's of the world are officially on notice. We haven't seen a rookie of the year performance like this since Rose in '09. I'm not a gambling man, but I can assure the shorts on Shawarma Mia won't be printing anytime soon, barring any rent hikes from the slumlords that be. read more

NEIGHBORHOOD SPOT!!! I get food from here every other week. The best one liner description is that it is home made Cava (but cheaper and better). It is my go to spot for fast casual food, the portions are amazing, there's so many sides to chose from! Prices are super reasonable, a feast for 15$ lunches. We came here before a Liberty game because it is right by Barclays Center and it had really good reviews. 4.8 previously. While this place was solid, I'm not sure it's deserving of such high marks. You get a lot of food, which is a big bonus and all the ingredients are tasty and fresh, but I wasn't that big a fan of the meat. I like that it's spit roasted, but there is a little too much fat on the chicken shawarma and it's not rendered down enough, so you are getting chunks of fat. Some people like that, but it was a little too much for me. Similar but different issue with lamb and beef shawarma. It has some fat, but not a lot, it was more the texture, the meat had a bit of a grainy texture to it, which was fine, but tasted a little off. Overall I still think this place is solid, I just dont think the meat was among the top shawarmas I've had in NY before. So good! I've had both the bowls and pita sandwich options here, and have been satisfied with my orders each time. The ingredients are fresh, the staff is friendly and efficient, and there's a ton of options to choose from to customize your order. If you're not familiar with an ingredient, they take the time to kindly explain what everything is. The portions here are also huge and filling! A bowl is definitely the equivalent of two meals for me, and the pita sandwiches are a great filling meal as well. I always get the Shawarma Mix for meat options (which is great) and want to try the others. Have also had the Baklava here, which is delicious. Small place with three tables for dining in but it's more of a take out joint. Best Shawarma's in Brooklyn. I generally have Shawarma's when I travel out of town but this spot is really good finally. Always struggled to find a good Shawarma spot in NY. This place did not disappoint. I had the Chicken Shawarma which was fantastic. It was wrapped up with lots of fresh veggies and the sauces to go on top were the best the hot sauce and white sauce. I would recommend extra sauce in the side for additional dipping. First I will start with the positives. The food and ingredients are very fresh, although the lettuce was not fresh. This vaguely tastes Americanized and not authentic. I stood there for 5 or 10 minutes while the employees ignored me and took 3 or 4 orders for people that I was ahead of in line. The employees all were scrambling and it was very disorganized. When i paid, one of the employees snatched the money out of my hand (I paid cash). The portions are very small, the bowls have so little rice, you barely can tell rice exists. The food was bland tasting, but again, the ingredients were all extremely fresh, aside from the lettuce. Park Slope and Prospect Heights cannot get falafel places right for over a decade. Pita Pan is no longer the same quality. Bedawi Cafe is no longer the same quality. The Olive Vine locations in Park Slope and Mr. Falafel, now THOSE were great falafel places. The combination of rude, frantically rushing employees and small portions make this not worth it, as well as the food tasting bland. There have now been about 4 or 5 Falafel places within a block of here (some across flatbush) that have come and gone in the past decade or more, and all (including Shwarma Mia) serve tiny portions and charged too much. Heck of a chicken and beef rice bowl you can get here . They have some of the best beef , hot sauce and tzatziki sauce you'll find for this cuisine . My only half complaint which I'll get out the way early is their chicken shawarma. On its own , without any sauces or add-ons , it is not the most flavorful and doesn't retain its seasoned well . The add-ons and side dishes however really elevates the overall meal . I tried the shredded carrots , hummus , beets etc and they all were excellent . Comparing it against a place like Cava that serves similar food would be disrespectful, and the disrespect would not be to Cava . My wife and I use to come all the way from staten island and it was our favorite spot for shawarma, this place went from our favorite to never again coming, went from great to horrible... they use to make the sandwiches incredible but the last 4 Fridays in a row we came it was horrible, every time they have a new person making the shawarmas who are clueless in what they are doing, food taste horrible and dry, I think last night was our last.
